Just Mine 171 Why won't I love you

Although he refused the position as the CEO of the company, his office was the best in the company and maybe even in the Capital. After all, he was the best in his field. Neto barely receive guest in his office. It was kind of like a sanctuary for him. He had a separate room where he entertains visitors and besides he barely meets with clients. The acting CEO does the job.

The acting CEO was more of a face for the company. Neto had refused to take the position, but somehow Mr Greyson made him sign a deal that, they would keep his identity secret and someone else show up in meetings and the rest while he act behind the scene.

He removed his suit jacket as the elevator door opened at his floor. He smiled at his secretary. "Kate. Would you be a darling and send this to the cleaners. I'll call you in in a few minutes so you can take the rest of my cloth."

"Good morning Mr Greyson. Oh off course sir." Kate said in a shaky voice, she watched as he unbuttoned the sleeve of his shirt. She didn't know if she should tell him or not but last year he had given her permission to allow this special client into the office anytime. She didn't know if the order still stands. Plus the client was their biggest client and also one of the most powerful person in the country. She couldn't say no for fear she would loose her job.

At first she couldn't believe the woman came here all by herself. The woman had promised her that she'd make sure she didn't loose her job, that all she had to do was keep quiet. Kate sighed as the door to her boss's office closed.

Neto went straight to his shelve and pushed a button and another compartment came out, containing his cloths and personal belongings. He removed his shirt and vest and put on a new one. He was about to close the compartment when he thought of changing his pants. Maybe her smell was on his pant. He quickly removed his pant and changed into another. Neto was brushing his hair when he heard a sound, more of a giggle.

He paused. The only person who can enter his office without permission was his father, but then again, that didn't sound like his father. It was more of a woman. Neto turned immediately to look for the source of the sound.

"Well, well. If it isn't the king himself. When you told me about your office, I thought you were exaggerating but when I walked in here, I thought I was gonna fall through the floor. I walked as careful as I could. I gotta give it to you Neto. I have never seen anything like this. I could go on about the aquarium and the beautiful fishes. But, I wasn't expecting a strip show. One would think you fell into a gutter or that a baby pee or shit all over your cloth." Sky said smiling as she watched him.

"Darn it Sky. You scared me. How did you get in here? no, what are you doing here? And why didn't you call, How long have you been waiting?" Neto dropped his brush and pulled out his suit jacket and walk straight to Sky, who was sitting on his desk.

"One question at a time Neto. First of all, You said I should let you know when I'm free so we can go see my building, so I'm free now. Secondly I asked your secretary if you were going to be in the office this morning, she let me in. Don't do anything to the poor girl, it's my fault. I made her open the door, remember you gave her orders last year that I'm free to come into your office anytime?"

"Thirdly...I just got here. I sat on your big chair and turned so you wouldn't see me when you come in. I know you've been avoiding me Neto. I saw you at the charity last week. I didn't know you are among the sponsors. I watched you from the special kids room." Sky stood up and walked up to him.

"I thought you weren't attending this year's event. I joined because of you. Angel's home wont exist without you. I want to contribute to the life of those children too. I think it will be nice if you let your identity known to the public, people should know how great you are." Neto said smiling.

She was the last person he expected. He has been wanting to see her but he doesn't have the courage to do so. Deep down, he was happy she was here. "Wait, are you wearing the dress I bought you on your birthday last year? Don't tell me it still fits. Even though you are as big as a house Sky, you look good." He smiled as he looked her over and awkwardly gave her a side hug. "I don't know how to hug a pregnant lady but I guess this is fine."

"Yeah. Just because we are not together anymore, doesn't mean I have forgotten about you. I missed you and I wanted to see my building too. Did your mom tell you we were together yesterday?"

"Oh. No she didn't. Do you want us to go check out the building now?" Neto asked. He didn't want to be alone with her. Her eyes are still the same, 'his Sky' but her body is different, it's carrying another man's child."

"No. Don't be rude Neto, it's my first time here, why not offer me a drink or something? And by the way, why do you have just two chairs in this big office and everything is made of glass, I love it here but this is no place for a pregnant woman or a child."

Neto smiled at her description of his office. "My apologies ma'am. Please follow me so I can show you to a comfortable sit and offer you something. Neto led the way and took her to the other side of the room. He pressed a button on the wall and one side of the ground opened, revealing a secret passage. It was the only part of the floor that wasn't made with glass.

"Woh, I'm impressed." Sky said as she followed him down the stairs which led to another room with a beautiful garden and big cozy chairs. "I love this place Neto, I could stay here all day."

"I'm glad you like it Sky. Welcome to my world. This is the part of me you refused to get to know when we were together. I wanted badly to show you my office but I don't know what you were afraid of."

"It's beautiful Greyson junior." Sky said smiling, ignoring his last statement. I can still smell her you know?" Sky said as she went to sit on one if the big chairs.

It took Neto a while to understand what she said. He smiled, then he decided to test her. "Jealous are we? Just like you said, there are lots of women out there who would die to be in a non exclusive relationship with me."

"I just pictured you as a man who could separate business from pleasure. It's a Monday morning, you should have at least cleaned yourself before coming into the office or done it over the weekend." Sky pursed and took in a deep breath before she continued.

"I don't like the smell of her perfume so I'm just going to say what I came here to say. I received my birthday present and I loved it. I haven't been able to thank you personally. I love Uttah, that's his name. And thank you for the beautiful work you did on my building. I like the interior and the lounge but could you do something like this in my office and add a little bit of nature to the reception area?"

Neto couldn't believe his ears. She had gone to see the building without him? He only wanted to see her reaction but he didn't want to piss her off. He could tell her mood had already changed. Was she mad that he was with another lady or that she wasn't the man she thought he was?

He was about to tell her nothing happened when her phone rang.

"Yes, ok thank you. I'm on my way" Sky said into the phone, standing up. She walked up to Neto and placed her right hand on his face.

"We shouldn't be like this Neto, say hi to me when you see me, stop avoiding me." She stood on her toes and pecked him on the lips. "Thanks for everything Neto. Have a nice day" With that she walked out of the room.

Neto stood there astounded as she walked away. He didn't know what to make of her peck on his lip. "Was she mad or not?" He asked himself. He was about to run after her when he saw the small gift bag on the table.

"I love the building. Thanks." we're the words written on the bag. He opened the bag and unwrapped his present. He gasped as he saw the content. "Why won't I love you Mena" He said out loud as he hugged his present.
