Chapter 1211: Chapter 1236: Demon Domain! Buzzing head! (Second update) Chapter 1211: Chapter 1236: Demon Domain! Buzzing head! (Second update) There's something strange, there must be something odd about this black miasma!
Yang Zhen's face was a flicker of confusion as he stared at the black mist filling the sky, his expression completely bewildered.
Damn it, I, Sao Saint, am already a practitioner of the Saint Sovereign Realm, you know how impressive that is, right?
It had been so long since he had felt the chill, yet now, amidst the turmoil of the black miasma, he found himself shivering?
Can someone tell me, Sao Saint, what the hell this thing is?
When it came to dangerous things, Yang Zhen never took the lead–he quickly retreated back, hiding behind the Sword Demon, and asked, “Seniors, what exactly is this thing, and why is it so cold?”
The experts of the Saint Sovereign Realm were somewhat better off; those from the Great Saint Realm, like the Lady Young and the Junior Dao Fool, along with Shi Feifei and Liu Ning, had already turned pale, breath visible in the cold air.
Seeing this, Yang Zhen took Han Yan'er and Hua Youyue by the hand and transferred his own energy into their bodies, which made them feel somewhat better.
The scoundrel cat shivered violently, nudging up against Yang Zhen, and stammered, “Damn it, this is serious, how did this ghostly thing come out? Kid, you can't play favorites, hurry up and give some to me too!”
Boom!
The Sao Chicken, however, fended for itself, igniting a Golden Crow fire around its body which immediately warmed the surrounding air considerably.
Yang Zhen, too preoccupied to care, kicked the scoundrel cat towards Sao Chicken and said annoyedly, “You warm up by the fire first!”
Saying this, Yang Zhen's eyes suddenly brightened, and staring at the scoundrel cat that was screaming nonstop, he asked, “Do you know the origins of this thing?”
The scoundrel cat, despite being scorched, didn't lose a single hair. Hearing Yang Zhen, it turned its head away, showing its reluctance to deal with him.
At that moment, Dao Mo took a deep breath and said, “Demon Qi, this is real Demon Qi.”
“What is that?”
Yang Zhen was taken aback, looking at the black mists and saying, “Are there really demons?”
Dao Mo shook his head and said, “The term 'Dao Mo' is just a human appellation. Since the dawn of time when everything began cultivating, there has been no real distinction between Dao and Demon, just different branches of power. However, this Demon Qi is greatly harmful to our bodies, the cultivators, but for those Demon Practitioners, it is a supreme treasure.”
Yang Zhen's eyes widened, a look of curiosity plastered over his face as he looked around and said, “So, you're saying there are demons around here?”
“Kid, no need to look anymore. The demons have been sealed for who knows how many tens of thousands of years, and by the end of the Barbaric Era, no trace of them could be found,”
the scoundrel cat said with a sneer.
“Why?” Yang Zhen asked curiously. Since there was Demon Qi, it proved that there was space for Demon Practitioners to exist, so why couldn't they be found?
Where had they been sealed?
The other young practitioners, overhearing the discussion, suddenly stopped shivering. This nearly secretive existence was something young people had never heard of?
Dao Mo's face flickered with uncertainty as he stared at the Demon Qi that seemed to burst forth from nowhere, saying, “Although it has vanished for many years, we must not take it lightly. Have you possibly heard how the Barbaric Era ended?”
Upon hearing this, Yang Zhen visibly startled.
Yes, every era's end surely had its cataclysmic events.
Just like the end of the Great Desolation happened due to an unknown catastrophe between heaven and earth, the Emperor Realm Experts vanished, Saint Realm Experts either reincarnated or perished. So, how did the Barbaric Era end?
“Senior, did the end of the Barbaric Era have something to do with Demon Practitioners?” Shi Feifei asked curiously.
Dao Mo pondered for a moment, didn't speak, but stared somberly at the rampant Demon Qi in the sky. If these were to be released, who knows what great trouble might arise.
At that moment, Sword Demon spoke up, “Have you ever heard of the Immortal World?”
Everyone's heart trembled!
“The Immortal World is just a rumor, after all,” Shi Feifei said crisply. “Practitioners ascend to immortality, entering the Immortal World where they are no longer bound by the heavens and earth, a place of true power. Yet, throughout the ages, no one has been heard of ascending, so the Immortal World is mostly a fabrication of men.”
Hua Youyue nodded and added, “Indeed, there's no concrete evidence about the Immortal World. Moreover, from the end of the Barbaric Era to the Great Desolation Era until now, no ascension has occurred, not even during the great cataclysms of the world, with no traces of the Immortal World to be seen.”
Sword Demon nodded and said, “The Immortal World is most likely nonexistent, but there is a place that truly exists.”
“What place?” Yang Zhen asked curiously.
“The Demon Domain!” Dao Mo said solemnly, his voice sounding as if it came from a demon of the Nine Nether Purgatory, deep and hoarse, sending shivers down one's spine.
This voice didn't sound at all like Dao Mo's, it was completely different from the Dao Mo of just moments ago.
The crowd looked at Dao Mo in shock, Sword Demon furrowed his brows and stared at him, asking, “Old man, are you alright?”
Dao Mo suddenly took a deep breath, as if trying to exhale the last bit of breath in his body, shook his head with a bitter smile after a long while, and said, “It's indeed the Demon Qi. I nearly succumbed to demonic influence, truly terrifying.”
The stronger a practitioner's cultivation, the greater the impact of the Demon Qi, Sword Demon told everyone, causing quite a stir.
Dao Mo said solemnly, “As long as one stays true to their heart, it's not too big a threat. However, the origin of this Demon Qi is unclear; if it were to spread, it could cause chaos in the world of cultivation.”
Yang Zhen was dumbfounded, thinking to himself how bizarre it all was.
Just Demon Qi without demons could stir up such turmoil in a realm, what terrifying place could the Demon Domain possibly be?
No demonic practitioners?
Then release some Demon Qi to create some?
Could it be that this Demon Qi was intentionally sealed in the Four Extremes Land by someone?
If that were the case, then that person surely harbored ill intentions.
Or perhaps it was the dramatic scheme of some demonic practitioners who disappeared later on.
“The Demon Domain!” Shi Feifei suddenly exclaimed, her eyes flashing with uncertainty, she looked at Dao Mo and asked, “Senior, does the Demon Domain truly exist? Wasn't it destroyed at the beginning of the Great Desolation Era?”
Dao Mo shook his head and said, “What was destroyed was merely the junction between the Demon Domain and the Great Desolation, the various Demon Sects. The true Demon Domain, it is said, is not smaller than the Great Desolation.”
“What the hell?” Yang Zhen's face wore a shocked expression, another world?
“Oh damn, what the hell is happening to me?” he cursed.
A pained voice suddenly came, Yang Zhen swiftly turned his head towards the cheeky cat.
The cheeky cat lay on the ground, kicking its legs and rolling its eyes back, its body swollen like a ball, rolling around in apparent agony.
“Damn, don't scare me, what's happening?” Yang Zhen squatted beside the cheeky cat and asked.
The cheeky cat suddenly sprung up from the ground, moving faster than shrinking an inch of ground, and in the blink of an eye, it dashed into the midst of the Demon Qi.
Roar–!
A voice piercing through heaven and earth came from midair, the pervasive Demon Qi scattered in an instant, clearing the entire area; the overwhelming rolling Demon Qi was forcefully dispersed.
The terrifying sound rolled like thunder, exploding next to their ears, causing everyone to feel dizzy, even Yang Zhen was startled, his head buzzing.
Overwhelmed, Yang Zhen looked up dazedly at the sky, wondering since when the cheeky cat could make such a loud noise?
With a crisp snap, the cheeky cat fell from mid-air, landed, and muttered while patting its belly, “Damn, ate too much, now I'm even belching!”
Belching?
Yang Zhen kicked towards the cheeky cat, “Damn, belching so loudly, are you trying to scare us to death?”
