She lazily sat on the luxurious lounge chair while her thoughts are clouded of what a wife should do when the husband caught her fighting in public. All sorts of scenarios popped inside her creative mind and she can't help but chuckle to herself.

Her pretty face became brighter when she beamed. She may look like she had gotten crazy by smiling by herself and staring at the nothingness of the chandelier but Hongqi found it bizarre to see her like this. She was so cute to look at, enjoying her own jokes.

He had been standing there for five minutes now and he only stared at her like she was the best specimen. Amused by her beaming expression, he enjoyed watching her innocent smile. He wonders, what she was thinking and imagining for her to smile like this.

He's so damn curious. He moved towards her and made sure that she knows that he's already present. "What's with the pretty smile, love?"

Xiulan was slightly surprised by Hongqi's sudden muttering. His voice was so loud that it caused her heart to be nervous. She quickly looked where the sound came from but as soon as she saw Hongqi's face, which was so close to hers, their lips smacked. Xiulan jumped back from the sudden intimate contact and pouted at him. "You surprised me!"

Hongqi boyishly smiled at her reaction and kissed her forehead lovingly before he sat beside her. He put his arms on her small waist and cuddled her. He laid his head on her shoulders and asked again "So what are you smiling at? Is there something in the chandelier?"

Xiulan let him cuddle her and snorted when she remembered her foolish imaginations again. "Nothing. I just remembered something very funny." She smiled at him with her cute white teeth exposed. Obviously, she was suppressing a laugh.

"Share!" Hongqi encouraged her to spill and share her funny thoughts. His other hand rested on her belly. He is now bear hugging her while his lips travels to her nape.

"It's nothing! Wait... let me know if you know something about what happened this afternoon." Xiulan probed. She's sure that he's updated of the things that transpired this afternoon.

Hongqi smiled gingerly and kissed her nape before he admitted. "Yes. The secret bodyguards I hired reported it. It's about Gong Yuming, right? Don't mind her."

"Amazing, you really know what happened a while ago. What about the events I caused in the bookstore?" Xiulan asked again and held onto his hand that was laying on top of her flat belly.

"Bookstore? I don't know anything about that. No one reported to me about the bookstore." Hongqi was really clueless of the bookstore fiasco. His secret bodyguards didn't tell him anything about that.

Xiulan moved her head and look at him in the eyes. She has that mischievous smile on her lips. "Heh.... your bodyguards are not that good! I caused a scene a while ago. The video might be in gossip news by now." She said enthusiastically and even pointed her finger on his cheeks. 

They looked like a cute couple bantering and teasing each other. Their interactions were pretty much normal for couples but their hearts are not in the same page.

Hongqi moved his head and quickly tried to bit Xiulan's finger.

"Ah!" Xiulan gasped when her short fingers almost got bitten by this pervert. She quickly hid her hands and glared at him.

"What did you do then? Did you beat up someone?" He asked casually. It doesn't look like he was mad or anything. He has that handsome smile on his face.

Xiulan was about to say something when Hongq suddenly lifted her and put her between his legs. He back hugged her tightly and inhaled her shoulders. His wrappings hands were resting beneath her boobs.

Xiulan felt that this position was too intimate and it's quite embarrassing if the servants or anyone sees them like this. But this is their home so she shouldn't be shy.

She just let him and she started to tell her story. "I scolded some aunties a while ago in the bookstore. They were gossiping about me and my height. You know, a woman's height is a sensitive topic! I don't know anymore, I feel like something possessed me and I just blatantly scolded them. I don't regret it though. Are you mad? I just tainted the Mrs. Xing's title in public."

Hongqi listened intently and stole a kiss on her cheeks when she stopped chatting. "That's better than seeing news about you that you killed someone or infidelity news."

Xiulan was bewildered that he didn't complain about her messing up the Mrs. Xing title. Suspicious! Before, he will scold her like a puny secretary if she disobeys the protocol of being Mrs. Xing. But now, he seems to be happy rather than being irritated.

She eyed him suspiciously but quickly masked it with a teasing smile. "Ha! In your dreams that I will cause the infidelity news between us. I'm a loyal woman. You might have to check yourself, mister." Xiulan scoffed.

With them bantering like this, they are like a regular newlywed couple. No fluttering red hearts involved but the connection of close friendship between them was evident.

"Loyal… so you will only stay with me for the rest of your life?" Hongqi teased and rained kisses on her again. He was really happy tonight for unknown reason. He was also happy that Xiulan didn't hide the fact that she caused some drama a while ago. He's not bothered by it. Actually he's happy that she was concerned enough to ask him if he was mad.

"Ah? You are really good in twisting words. If that's what you think, so be it." Xiulan didn't want to argue with him regarding the matters of this relationship. Even though he was just teasing, she felt like his question was too awkward to answer.

"Hmm…" Hongqi remained silent and tightly hugged her. "Regarding Gong Yuming, just don't mind her. If she comes to you again, tell it to me okay? I'm going to talk to her manager tomorrow and let her scold her." Hongqi muttered. He enjoyed this moment with his wife every night and if someone tries to ruin this harmony between them, then he will not spare anyone anymore even if it's Gong Yuming.

As she expected, he's just the typical man that won't get involved in women's battles. "I already warned her not to go near me." Xiulan muttered in a matter of fact tone. "I threatened her."

Hongqi was surprised by her statement. "Huh? How did you threatened her?" Hongqi tried to remember the scenes in the CCTV footage but everything seems to be fine. No catfight or any extreme movements happened.

"I told her I can destroy her if she keeps bothering me. I rarely threaten people you know." Xiulan muttered while she stares at the chandeliers. "Tonight seems to be a good time to cuddle like this," she secretly thought.

"Wow~ my wife is really amazing." Hongqi amusingly said and tightened his hold. "Did you do it for us? I suddenly feel special."

Xiulan quickly looked back at him and scowled. "This man sure is so egoistic." She subconsciously thought. All the pronouns she used was for herself yet this man thought she was doing it for him. Though she was actually doing it for the harmony of their marriage but still…

"Let's eat. We've been cuddling for so long." Xiulan wanted to change the topic and invited him to eat. She was about to stand up but Hongqi pulled her back again and caged her in a bear hug.

"Noooo. Five more minutes. I'm so lazy to move right now. Hugging you feels like heaven." Hongqi said childishly. He buried his handsome face on her neck and didn't let her go.

Xiulan stayed there unmoving but her thoughts were swirling and thoroughly thinking through of their cohabiting relationship. This harmony must stay like this until God knows when.

If someone tries to delude and involve themselves in this peaceful relationship, she will try her best to shoo them away. But if Hongqi decides to leave, that would be better. But right now, that's not the case.

"Gong Yuming, I'm sorry but you must not bother this family." Xiulan subconsciously thought. She'll do everything to enlighten Gong Yuming to pull herself together and move on from Hongqi.
