Good thing Hongqi came home earlier than expected. Hongqi tried his best to escape from the meeting with Pierre's team that's why he managed to come back before the chef leaves the place.

He was surprised that he didn't saw his wife in the dining area. Usually, she's already devouring food by this hour.

"Where's your madam?" Hongqi inquired while he removes his tie.

"Young master, the madam is sleeping soundly and we were shy to wake her up."

Hongqi only nodded and went to the master's bedroom. He quietly entered the room and caught his wife in a very awkward sleeping position. She was still even in her office clothes. This was a first to see her so tired that she wasn't able to even change her clothes.

"Are you tired enough that you slept like this?" Hongqi muttered while he warmly eyes his wife's sleeping position. He suddenly snorted seeing her like this. It reminds him of how a bunny or a kitten sleeps. Smooshing her face on the bed like this will cause her beautiful pointed nose to deteriorate.

While his eyes were on his wife, his hands untied his necktie and simultaneously unbuttoned his shirt too. He tried to gently wake her up by rocking her shoulders but she only grunted and rolled on the other side. Hongqi curled his lips and thought of something naughty. He kneeled beside her and acted that he will remove her clothes by unzipping the back of her dress.

Immediately, like a lioness' sharp instincts, Xiulan woke up, laid on her back and swatted Hongqi's naughty hand. She groggily frowned and scolded him. "Pervert. What the hell do you think you are doing to an unconscious woman?"

His wicked grin was deliciously plastered on his handsome face which caused Xiulan to daze for a moment. He was extremely sexy with his exposed muscular chest and lazy eyes. "My love, you're not waking up so I tried to use this method."

Xiulan confusedly frowned. She doesn't have the energy to play with his naughty jokes. She glanced at the wall clock and she realized that she napped for an hour. She was about to stand up so she can eat together with Hongqi but the hooligan husband suddenly pushed her back to the bed.

"Ah! Hey---"

Since he was already kneeling beside her, he eventually went on top of her and teasingly pounced. He cornered her with his long muscled arms and quickly stole a kiss on her sweet lips.

The quick kiss became a long and deep.

"Hmm--" Xiulan pushed his muscular chest to have some space between them but the hungry husband didn't even budge. His large warm hands were caressing her petite face and waist like they were the most delectable thing to touch. He didn't try to do anything sexual but it was really an intimate kiss that can lead to danger.

Xiulan tried her best to escape from the kiss. She was not in the mood since she was still slightly angry at Hongqi. But Hongqi's determination to kiss more didn't allow her to escape.

They were making out for a long time that they had to separate because Xiulan was tapping his shoulders to stop him so she could breathe.

"Damn you. I was almost out of air." Xiulan was heaving and her face was slightly red.

Hongqi's eyes shone seeing her so lovely and flustered after their kiss. His hands automatically lovingly caressed her small face with his thumb and huskily whispered "I think we need to extend our nightly activities so you can last longer when I kiss you."

He was about to kiss her again but Xiulan quickly blocked his hot lips. "You… I'm angry with you. Don't you know that you made a grave crime earlier? I don't want another kiss from someone who helps my rivals." Xiulan ambiguously scolded and glared at him. 

Her glaring came out like a glaring bunny. It was so cute that Hongqi was about to pinch her cheeks but promptly halted. He realized someting's wrong with what his wife said.

He raised his eyebrows in confusion. He didn't get the gist of what his wife was pertaining to. He actually thought she was talking about Gong Yuming since she mentioned the word rival.

His heart fluttered for a second because he thought she was jealous. But that was only for a moment since he felt a sudden nervous pang in his chest. He can't explain what it was but his mind tells him to quickly explain to his wife. "Gong Yuming is just an actress in my company. She may had been a woman from my past but she's not important now. Why would I cheat on you?"

Xiulan didn't expect him to say that. He actually misunderstood. But for some unknown reason, her heart slightly felt heavy hearing that. Will he say the same thing when they not together anymore too?

She was about to clarify and remove the misunderstanding but her stomach suddenly grumbled very loudly.

Hongqi chuckled hearing her hungry tummy. He caressed her face using thumb again. "Stand up, let's eat. We can talk about this later." Hongqi pulled her and tried to put his large palms on her waist but Xiulan swiftly swatted them again and snubbed him.

In the dining room, Xiulan was a little bit fidgety and she kept glancing at Hongqi. She was actually trying to bring up the issue regarding the Mao couple and Gong Yuming. She badly wanted to clear the misunderstanding.

But since her anger already subsided and she doesn't have enough courage to start questioning him. She was slightly hesitant and doesn't know to bring this up. She was already in a good mood too because of food and she doesn't have those negative energy anymore.

It feels awkward to suddenly question and explain it to him. After all, he misunderstood that she was jealous of Gong Yuming. 

Hongqi noticed Xiulan's wary expression. He remembered her cute tantrums earlier. He grinned remembering that. To save her from asking him an embarrassing topic, he initiated to ask her first. "You look restless. Are you going to say something?"

Xiulan pursed her lips and was hesitant. But being shy or awkward at this moment won't help. She put aside her spoon and fork and stared back at Hongqi before answering. "I have seen the news regarding Gong Yuming's contract signing with the Mao group."

Hongqi's attention was piqued. He was right. It was about Gong Yuming. He secretly grinned and conceitedly remarked to himself. "Ah finally, here comes the jealous wife. This is a first that she mentioned that name."

"Yes? As you know I'm always present in contract signing with big clients. I was only there as a CEO." Hongqi reasoned out and quickly monitored Xiulan's reaction. This was the part he had been waiting for in this marriage life, seeing the wife becomes jealous!

"I know. I understand that. It's just that…" Xiulan was skeptic if she should say this to Hongqi. She worriedly pursed her lips again and this came off as a depressed look for Hongqi.

Hongqi noticed that weary expression on her face and he guessed again that she might be really jealous! "No worries, my love. You shouldn't be jealous of Gong Yuming since the relationship is just between a boss and an employee. Like I said earlier, she's not important anymore."

Xiulan furrowed her eyebrows from what he just said. Obviously, he got it all wrong.

"Ah! No. It's not about Miss Gong. It's regarding the Mao couple… my company-- I mean I, myself is actually in a silent but serious conflict with them." Xiulan must clear this odd misunderstanding soon.

Hongqi was drinking from his wine glass while he listens to Xiulan. He almost choke hearing that from her. He raised his eyebrows and quickly gulped the remaining wine inside his mouth.

"Serious conflict? Isn't just a simple business rivalry?" he questioned and there was an obvious confusion plastered on his face. He did not expect that his wife would be in a serious conflict with a another big company especially like the Mao group.
