"I told them that Lingyu's not an asset. Why would I want her when she doesn't have any use anymore?" Hongqi coldly remarked and smirked. He has that fake boorish smile that made Pierre feel like Hongqi was only lying.

Pierre raised his eyebrows at Hongqi's remarks. He thought that Hongqi was only saying this out of pretense. He knew that Lingyu was someone very dear to Hongqi. He's just only bitter and maybe he doesn't want any scandal right now. Especially that he is married to Song Yingpei's youngest daughter. He's being careful and safe.
