After all, she was still a princess and belonged to the royal family. In order to protect their image and reputation, they wouldn't hit her. Mu Mingtang slept until nightfall. She slept very well this time, after getting up, she soon realised the house was dark and a simple plate of rice was placed at the front door.

The simple meal was relative to the palace's standard. For Mu Mingtang, she thought the food was still pretty good.

Mu Mingtang brought the meal to the table in the dark. Facing the dark room, she could somehow understand the female officials' intention. When they left, they took away the candles, so that the house would be dim and the big pieces of furniture were like monsters in the dark. If a person who was afraid of the dark stayed here for the night, that person would be scared to death.

If Mu Mingtang was just an ordinary 15 to 16 year old teenager that was well taken care of, she would be really afraid at the moment. However, she wasn't. She had a great appetite and finished her meal in the dark. For a person who was once a refugee and had been on the run, how would she be afraid of darkness and thunder?

This was literally a joke.

In such a huge manor, all the curtains, beds, bed curtains, and window screens were changed every season and never reused. She wondered, how much would these cost in a year?

Mu Mingtang lost count. She couldn't fall asleep, and slumped into her wild thoughts, she felt that they were squandering Xie Xuanchen's wealth. Xie Xuanchen had been in the war for several years, and had ransacked through several emperors' palaces. Not to mention the rewards that were given by the emperors of Zhou and Ye dynasties, but just the treasures he brought back from the battles itself, were already very impressive.

Mu Mingtang had a civilian type of mentality, and would take special care of the money she earned. Xie Xuanchen seemed like someone who didn't care much about his wealth, moreover since he has been in a coma for such a long time, he probably would have lost count of how much money had been cheated away.

After thinking about it, she discovered that she had never seen the whole of Qiyang Manor before. The two times she walked in the manor, first being the day of her marriage, she was covered with a red bridal veil, and couldn't see anything; another time was when she attended Xie Xuanji and Jiang Mingwei's wedding, she was followed by the guards, and had no time to look around.

Not to mention that the people didn't see her as the princess, Mu Mingtang herself also felt that she had neglected her duty as a concubine. After being married to him for a month, she didn't even know what her house looked like.

Mu Mingtang slowly closed her eyes, she was still half awake, and was thinking that she must take a good look around Qiyang Manor, if she had the opportunity…..
