In fact, the senior imperial physician didn't want to talk to Mu Mingtang in detail. Unlike the Emperor's official daughter in law, Princess Jin, having a relationship or involvement with the individuals of the Qiyang Manor would not do him any good. However, relying on her stubborn attitude, Mu Mingtang still patiently asked him questions, no matter how cold the senior imperial physician responded. Finally, the physician loosened, and commented with two short paragraphs: “He'll use up his energy one day. It's not a good thing in the long term. His body's been weak for way too long; every outbreak would double the damage on his body.”
Mu Mingtang finally understood, and asked even more detailed questions once the senior imperial physician lifted his guard. Since the physician couldn't say too much to her, she would express her thoughts, the idea would then be correct if the physician didn't scold her for it.
Mu Mingtang got plenty of advice to nourish his body to health. She then bowed respectfully to the senior imperial physician: “Thank you very much for staying up until this late today. I'll send you out now.”
She clearly knew how fickle humans could be, that is, no one has the obligation to treat you kindly. The imperial physicians, guards all cared for their own interest and they're not wrong to do so. She could understand them, yet she also had her own stance, there's always a way around things, if they didn't want to talk much, she would take the initiative to ask again and again. Even though they just answered with one word, after continuously asking, she still would be able to collect a detailed prescription.
Mu Mingtang was already very grateful that the physician was willing to reveal so much to her. She bowed respectfully and personally sent him out. However, as she was about to arrive at the door, a shiny sword appeared in front of her.
“Princess, please stay.”
Mu Mingtang smiled awkwardly, and still politely and respectfully said to the imperial physician: “ Sorry for the trouble, I might not be able to send you out today. I'll instruct the guards on my behalf, do forgive me for doing so.”
Of course the imperial physician didn't say much about it, he glanced at Mu Mingtang for one last time, tightened his grip on his medical briefcase and walked out quickly.
Mu Mingtang stood at the door, she didn't immediately walk back. The guards, seeing as she didn't budge for a long while, gripped their swords even tighter, and they didn't dare to blink their eyes. Mu Mingtang stood there for a while, she then turned around and walked back when she could no longer see the imperial physician.
The guards focused all their attention on her and never thought Mu Mingtang would turn and go back inside so quickly. The two guards at the gate opened their eyes widely, they looked at each other as they slumped into a daze.
The senior imperial physician was the last person to leave. After he left, the house was left empty. The place was brightly lit in the evening, but at midnight, the place was creepily quiet. The obvious contrast didn't make Mu Ming Tang uncomfortable, instead, she thought this was the real side of Yu Lin Hall.
At the end, all the hustle and bustle would eventually fade away, and the ones that would stay till the end, would just be Xie XuanChen and her.
Xie XuanChen was still in a state of coma, he couldn't drink on his own. Mu MingTang dipped a cotton ball in water and wet his lips with it.
The doors to the Manor were closed shut. Xie Xuanchen had secretly recovered consciousness without anybody knowing for a long time. Xie XuanJi had learned his lesson this time, he sent someone in Yu Lin Hall to watch over them. Mu Mingtang's every move was being closely watched, but she didn't care. After feeding Xie Xuanchen some water, she covered him with the blanket, and went outside alone while holding a lamp.
That's right, the fact that Mu Mingtang and Xie Xuanchen didn't share the same bedroom, was completely exposed.
