“It actually isn’t that hard.” Xie Xuanchen replied, “Just practise more and you’ll also be able to do it. If others aren’t able to throw arrows correctly, it is probably because they haven’t practised enough.”
‘What? No, we have practised, and we have practised very hard.’ All the gentlemen present were dealt a critical blow. ‘How can Prince An say such harsh words with that casual tone?’
What was more frightening was that Prince An was still suffering from long-term illness, and there were rumours spreading that he would be dying soon. How could a person in such poor health accomplish such a tricky feat? And what more? He didn’t even change his pose!

Mrs. Li, who had kept her silence so far, suddenly clapped her hands and signalled everyone who were gathered in Xie Xuanchen’s pavilion to disperse. Actually, they didn’t want to leave, but in front of Xie Xuanchen, no one dared to make a fuss, and after hesitating for a while, people obediently left one after another.
On the other side, a group of young men were forming a team to play polo, seeing them Mrs. Li hurriedly came over to Xie Xuanchen. “My Lord, a polo match is going to start. Do you wish to take part?”
Xie Xuanchen swept a glance at the polo field in a few seconds, and after seeing people who were on the field, he shook his head in a firm denial. “No.”

Then she suddenly remembered something that had happened in the past and looked at her husband. “I still remember what you said after we have just gotten married last year. Do you know, you told me that I should go outside more often and have fun like other people my age? But I never expected that in the end, it would be you who would take me out.”
After not getting any response from Xie Xuanchen, she pouted and kept looking at him as she added, “Then do you still remember that when we got married, you also promised that you would let me remarry and would personally prepare a dowry for me. Yes, to be exact, you said you didn’t want to delay me.”
Mu Mingtang gazed at him with sharp eyes after she finished speaking, and Xie Xuanchen secretly groaned after remembering what he had said to Mu Mingtang at the beginning of their marriage, but he still gave Mu Mingtang an innocent look expressing that he could not remember such words. “Ah, did I say such a thing? When?”
“You really did promise me! Stop pretending.” Mu Mingtang gave him a furious look and remarked, “And since it was all said by you, you must give me a divorce letter, since you don’t want to be married to me, and you also promised to fetch me some gold and silver from the palace’s treasury. Mu Mingtang’s furious voice filled Xie Xuanchen’s ears. “These are your exact words back then. What? Are you going to pretend?”
“Okay, okay.” The more Xie Xuanchen listened, the more frustrated he felt, so he hurriedly covered Mu Mingtang’s mouth with his hand, preventing her from continuing any further. “Don’t say such unlucky words during the New Year. Hurry up and spit on the ground.”
Mu Mingtang removed his hand angrily and said, “It’s already February. The New Year has already passed. Don’t change the topic. Did you say that or not?”
Xie Xuanchen shook his head resolutely and said with absolute confidence, “No.”
Mu Mingtang raised her eyebrows and gave Xie Xuanchen a surprised look, but Xie Xuanchen remained calm, as steady as an old dog. Mu Mingtang sneered at such a temperament, then turned to continue watching the game, ignoring her husband.
Xie Xuanchen breathed a sigh of relief as Mu Mingtang didn’t continue their conversation on ‘remarrying’.
In fact, Xie Xuanchen had long forgotten about what he had said to her after they had just gotten married, but after he gave it more thought, he could vaguely remember that he did say something like that when he wasn’t able to get up from the bed.
‘Did I actually say such a thing? I would divorce Mu Mingtang and even provide the dowry for her to marry another man? What the hell was going on in my head?’
Despite what he had said earlier, he was happy Mu Mingtang had prevented him from writing the divorce letter. Otherwise…
Anyway, Mu Mingtang had no evidence, so as long as he didn’t admit it, she would never be remarried to another wild man.
He would never let that happen.
