The one important thing in the process of a negotiation, is to avoid showing any true emotions. Xie Xuanchen gulped. Yet, in the end, he still looked up coldy, and faced the Imperial Physician emotionlessly.

Imperial Physician Zhang was taken aback by Xie Xuanchen’s speech, he was distracted and had no time to pay attention to other things. His complexion changed time by time and he looked very lost. After a long time, the Imperial Physician finally sighed sullenly: “Your royal highness, you are right. I should not be fluke minded.”

After Imperial Physician Zhang said this, he soon realised that there was something off between the two. When did they get so close to each other? He glanced at their tightly held hands, he pretended that he was blind, and said: “Princess, the conditions that you offered just now……”

Mu Mingtang was in disbelief, all her efforts, her speech and her gifts, in the end all her effort still couldn’t beat Xie Xuanchen’s simple words? She glanced at Xie Xuanchen in surprise, and hurriedly responded: “A promise is a promise. As long as you agree to look into the Prince’s illness, I will keep my promise and I won’t force you to fully cure him.”

Mu Mingtung was stunned for a second: “Of course, it is best if you could cure him.”

Imperial Physician Zhang’s face blackened. As the saying goes, all crows are equally black, all wolves eat meat. No matter what they promised him, in the end, they would still be unreasonable about it.

Imperial Physician Zhang bowed, moved away from his seat: “Your highness, please take a seat.”

Xie Xuanchen sat down and stretched out his hand. His wrist was as white as jade, and they could clearly see his veins. Mu Mingtang anxiously stood by his side, and watched as Imperial Physician Zhang read his pulse.

Mu Mingtang’s hands couldn’t help but clenched. After a while, Imperial Physician Zhang removed his hands. She immediately asked: “How is it?”

For a moment, she didn’t want to hear his response. Sometimes, hope can be even scarier than disappointment.

Imperial Physician Zhang got up and stepped aside, he looked at the two hesitantly. His actions made Mu Mingtang even more worried. On the contrary, Xie Xuanchen looked like he had already expected this to happen, he tucked his sleeves, and said: “It’s okay doctor, just be honest.”

Imperial Physician Zhang lowered his gaze: “Your condition now is very dangerous. You were very healthy before. Yet, great power is both an advantage and also a burden. Especially through the years, the uncontrolled use of your strength over and over again, destroyed your core. You have immense strength and could easily lift 100 over kilos. After all, your highness, you are still human. When you fell ill back then, you completely ignored it and still released your  forces at will, and this placed immense pressure on your organs. If you forcibly use your strength again, I’m afraid that your body won’t be able to take it.

Imperial Physician Zhang was very detailed and Mu Mingtang understood his words. In layman terms, Xie Xuanchen’s body was once in a very good shape, but every time he went manic, he would lose a part of his blood and essence. If he had taken care of himself, then he would have been fine. Yet, the main problem is that Xie Xuanchen couldn’t control himself, it kept dropping and he was now in a critical condition.

For now, it would be best if he could recover slowly. But if he went manic again, his body would not be able to take another hit.

The diagnosis wasn’t that good, but it was better than she had expected.

Mu Mingtang asked: “What’s the least we could do now?”

“Avoid feeling angry all the time, eat healthy, stay calm and avoid any vigorous exercise.”  Imperial Physician Zhang, paused for a moment, and said: “ Take control and avoid turning manic at all cost.”

The imperial physician conveyed his message very vaguely, but Mu Mingtang understood that Zhang was referring to Xie Xuanchen’s illness.

If Mu Mingtang could understand him, so would Xie Xuanchen. He stood up and said: “Thank you.”

As he was about to walk out, Mu Mingtang called for him, before hurriedly asking Imperial Physician Zhang: “What medicine does he need to take?”

“It’s better to not take any medicine.” Imperial Physician Zhang continued: “ Medicine often comes with side effects. The prince is not sick, it’s just that his body can’t take his own strength. If you can make sure that his mania is under control, and take good care of him, he will recover very soon.”

Xie Xuanchen was about to leave, when Mu Mingtang finally understood him. She hurriedly thanked Imperial Physician Zhang and lifted up her skirt to chase after Xie Xuanchen.

As for the gold, it was naturally left behind and treated as a “medical charge”.

Mu Mingtang caught up to Xie Xuanchen easily as he was waiting outside the door. She then naturally grabbed his arm, asked: “How did you come here?”
