Chapter 999: Chapter 1000: Magic Guild_1 Chapter 999: Chapter 1000: Magic Guild_1 “Bone Chestplate: Level 2 Treasure, Equipment Effect: Hero Strength +20%, this item is one of the four components that form the Cursed Armor Set.”
“A set item? Like a suit?” Song Jian glanced at the piece of equipment the Necromancer had dropped, shook his head, and tucked it into his inventory slot.
For him, the item's attributes weren't that great. Sacrificing an equipment slot for 20% strength wasn't worth it. And since these items couldn't be taken out of the Assessment World, it would be better to gift them to the natives of this world to increase their favorability towards him.
System: You have completed the commission of Fairy Luuna. The quest reward has been issued in advance. Your favorability with the Elf tribe has increased to Friendly. The cost of recruiting Elf warriors has decreased by 25%, and the chance of persuading Elf warriors to surrender in battle has slightly increased.
After the Necromancer had turned the elderly Black Dragon into the Bone Dragon, the title of the Black Dark Lord automatically fell upon it. By slaying it, Song Jian was essentially killing the Dark Lord of the Elf Mountains, saving all the Elves in the mountain range.
At that moment, countless glittering points of light suddenly rose up in the Dragon's Nest. They converged around Song Jian and eventually formed a white ribbon, like a river of stars, circling him twice before flying off towards the exit of the Dragon's Nest.
Song Jian saw that within these light points were transparent spirits, each the size of a fingernail–likely the souls of Elves who had been tormented and killed by the Black Dark Lord here.
System: You have received the blessing of numerous Flower Spirit souls, gaining a special effect: Luck +1, which is permanently valid and will remain effective even after leaving the Assessment World.
“Hey, an unexpected gain!” Song Jian's eyes brightened. Any gains in this world would disappear upon leaving, so Song Jian didn't pay much attention to them, but now, this “Luck +1” effect could be taken out of the Assessment World, which delighted him greatly.
The value of Luck affects the drop rate of monsters, as well as the chance of critical hits and skill trigger effects. Naturally, the higher it is, the better, one can never have too much of it.
Looking at his own Luck value, the title “Savior” had already added 5 points directly. After that, he gained some more Luck enhancements here and there. With the addition he received today, Song Jian's Luck value had accumulated to eight points, which was quite high.
Now, a three-hour countdown appeared before Song Jian's eyes. Clearly, once the three hours were up, he would enter the battle mode. Although he was unsure of the specifics of this battle mode, it essentially boiled down to using the resources he had gathered to continuously spawn troops and then capturing the main city of the opposing camp, eliminating all Examines belonging to it to claim the final victory.
Song Jian took another look at the Dragon's Nest. After killing the Necromancer, it seemed to have become a bit cleaner. The aura of the undead was gradually fading, and it wouldn't take long for this place to become a regular, abandoned cave.
With time pressing, and needing to return to the castle to make preparations for battle, Song Jian didn't search the Dragon's Nest any further and turned toward the direction of the cave's entrance.
Only after Song Jian had completely left did the juvenile Undead Dragon emerge from the shadows of the nest. Watching the direction in which Song Jian had departed, its eyes filled with fear and wariness.
“Too terrifying, that human not only killed the two big ones but also killed the master…” A pitch-black fog churned incessantly beside it, with two crimson points of light emerging from it. A sharp voice came out of the fog, and the juvenile Undead Dragon nodded slightly as if it very much agreed with the view of the mist.
“Little one, do we continue to stay here or find a new place?” The black fog churned and coalesced into a spectral monster-like figure, floating in front of the juvenile Undead Dragon and saying, “This place belongs to the human camp's territory. It's too dangerous to stay here. We might get attacked by some random human hero at any time. We should leave this place and return to the territory of the Undead camp.”
The Undead Dragon hesitated for a moment. After a low howl, it turned and ran into the depths of the nest. In a short while, it emerged with a full set of armor adorning its body. The armor exuded a strong scent of Dragon Qi, apparently the treasures of the previously slain Black Dragon.
The ghost spirit let out a “giggle” of laughter, transforming back into a cluster of black fog and seeping into the armor of the Bone Dragon. In an instant, a murky gray shroud enveloped the surface of the armor, greatly diminishing the Giant Dragon's aura that the armor exuded, rendering it ordinary.
After casting a few longing glances back at the dragon nest, the Bone Dragon raised its head and let out a piercing roar, then ran out of the dragon nest.
Song Jian returned to the castle, only to find that it had been upgraded to level 1, and many of the buildings that required a level 1 castle had also been nearly completed.
“We can now recruit spearmen and archers in our own castle, but the griffin tower requires a level 2 castle and at least a day's time to upgrade the castle to level 2. It looks like it's impossible to construct griffins…” Song Jian said with some regret.
“My lord, the level 1 magic guild has been constructed. Would you like to have a look?” Tuya respectfully said to Song Jian.
“The magic guild, huh? Does that mean our heroes can start learning magic now?” Song Jian asked with a smile.
“Yes, each person who enters the magic guild can learn five level 1 spells,” Tuya replied.
“Only level 1 spells,” Song Jian said with a hint of disappointment, but he decided to take a look regardless.
Each time the magic guild is upgraded, it is accompanied by randomly appearing spells that correspond to its level. Song Jian followed Tuya into a plain stone tower, which, had Tuya not confirmed it, Song Jian might have mistaken for a storage depot for supplies.
“My lord, the magic that appeared this time includes three earth spells, one water spell, and one air spell,” Tuya introduced.
The three earth spells were Magic Arrow, Protective Shield, and Slow magic. Magic Arrow, in reality, should be considered a general spell, not specifically an earth spell; anyone who learned it could cast an unattributed energy arrow, inflicting harm on the enemy.
Protective Shield involved covering one's entire body with a layer of earth element to enhance defense and weaken the enemy's attack potency–it could reduce melee damage by 50%, but ranged damage only by 20%.
Slow magic, in Song Jian's view, was the best level 1 spell. Initially, it could only be cast on single targets, but as the level increased, it could affect multiple enemies. It could reduce not only their movement speed but also their attack speed and reaction time.
“Feels like a debuff…” Song Jian mused, stroking his chin before turning to look at the other two spells.
