Chapter 1687: Chapter 1688: Really Good Luck Chapter 1687: Chapter 1688: Really Good Luck Jes stood before the Spatial Rift, intently sensing the Power of Law that seeped from within.
After a moment, a smile spread across Jes's face as he muttered to himself, “It's actually the temple of the Goddess of Wisdom and Aggression, Yalisxis, a true Main God Level temple, hahaha, what good fortune!”
Song Jian, hearing this from a distance, felt his heart stir. He too had researched the deities of the game world, and the Goddess of Wisdom and Aggression was a formidable deity who had mastered thirteen Powers of Law, even stronger than the Bright Gods. However, Yalisxis had fallen in the last War of the Gods. It could be said that the temple before them was completely without a master!
With this thought, Song Jian felt a surge of excitement. He had always been searching for a Spatial Rift to construct a temple of his own, but as one might expect, building his own temple would be a time-consuming and laborious effort, unlikely to be completed without several years of work. But if he could inherit this temple right before him, he'd only need a minor refurbishment, which would drastically shorten the time needed–completing it in just over ten days.
Jes, with a face full of delighted surprise, strode toward the Spatial Rift. The energy of the formations was now nearly depleted and no longer protective. As soon as Jes entered the rift and the temple, he would obtain all of the legacy of Yalisxis, the Main Deity.
“What good fortune, truly good fortune, hahaha!” laughed Jes heartily.
“Yes, truly good fortune,” Song Jian said with a light chuckle, taking steps forward.
Soon, both men entered the Spatial Rift one after the other, vanishing from the spot.
Spatial Rifts are difficult to stabilize, and some, if left unattended, wouldn't last long before healing on their own. However, the Spatial Rifts in the Divine World, perhaps due to the surrounding environment, are not so easy to seal once formed, often persisting for a very long time–hundreds or even thousands of years. With the right formations to stabilize them, they could even exist permanently.
As Song Jian walked through the Spatial Rift, he was surrounded by constantly shifting spatial scenery, resembling a glass kaleidoscope. He could feel that the entrance to this Spatial Rift was stabilized by formations, which might go unnoticed by most, but as a Master Level Formation Master, Song Jian could sense a trace of stabilizing formation power seeping out from all around him.
“Securing this Spatial Rift will allow me to thoroughly study the defensive formation outside. By then, my formation skills will surely break through the Master Level!” thought Song Jian to himself.
He felt that the defensive formation outside the Spatial Rift and the one maintaining its unsealed state were connected and even felt the presence of formation traces near the temple within the rift. All these formations were, in essence, part of a single grand formation.
Jes quickly made his way through the Spatial Rift, arriving at a vast expanse of flat land not very large in area, roughly three to five thousand square meters, resembling a huge island surrounded by thick and violent Spatial Forces that would tear any object that entered into pieces.
However, there were also defensive formations around preventing the erosion of the Spatial Forces!
In the center of this plain was a grand temple, emitting a faint divine glow. However, it seemed to be low on energy, with the intensity and brightness of the glow being quite ordinary. An experienced person could tell the state of the temple's owner simply by the divine glow of the temple. Clearly, the owner of the temple had perished, and the divine glow was slowly fading. Eventually, the entire temple would degrade into a regular building, followed by the breakdown of the formations, the automatic healing of the Spatial Rift, and then the ejection of everything within.
A temple without protection, appearing in the Divine World, would be eroded and decayed by the elements in a few decades, turning into an abandoned building, just like the abandoned temple Song Jian had encountered before.
“Divine trees, divine medicine, and even a small strip of divine ore, hahaha, I'm rich!” The divine sense of Jace instantly enveloped the entire spatial rift. Even before entering the temple, Jace had discovered a vast array of treasures and could not help but burst into hearty laughter.
On the east side of the temple, there was a small grove with only about a dozen trees, each thick enough to require two people to encircle it. If placed in a game world, they would all be ancient trees of over a hundred years.
Every tree emitted a faint divine light, clearly indicating that merely by cutting and processing them, they could be turned into divine artifacts.
To the south of the temple, there was a small hill, not very high, about ten meters tall at most. At the foot of the hill, there was a mining cave with some mining tools laid out at the entrance, along with dozens of intact skeletons that looked quite small, resembling human children around the age of thirteen or fourteen.
At the cave entrance, there were several crystals shimmering with divine light. They looked like ordinary crystals, yet even from a distance, Song Jian could feel the rich divinity contained within them!
In front of the temple, there was a large herbal garden planted with many divine-level herbs. However, due to a long time without care, most of the divine herbs had withered and died, with only a few still faintly emitting a divine glow.
Song Jian felt a sense of familiarity with the architectural layout around this temple, which suddenly brought back memories of the time he was in the instance of the Goddess of Harvest.
That was the final resting place of the ancient Goddess of Harvest, which, in addition to a temple, also had a large vineyard. The layout there was almost identical to the temple of the goddess of wisdom and invasion before his eyes.
“Interesting!” Song Jian couldn't help but smile. He didn't expect the legacy of the goddess of wisdom and invasion to be so abundant. The divine trees, divine herbal gardens, and divine ore deposits alone would make any ordinary deity drool with envy, let alone the temple itself, which was the basis for a deity. Surely, there were even better things inside.
Jace seemed to think the same, merely glancing at the treasures around the temple before striding towards the Temple Gate.
The Temple Gate of the goddess of wisdom and invasion stood wide open, without any sign of defense. It appeared that due to the previous strength of the defensive formations outside the Spatial Rift, the goddess had given up on setting up further defenses around the temple.
“Well then, your role as a pathfinder stone has come to an end, you may rest now,” Song Jian murmured to himself as he watched Jace's retreating back.
Just as Jace was about to step through the Temple Gate, he suddenly felt a chill on the back of his neck as if a blade was slashing toward it.
With a thought, the smoke around Jace's body instantly condensed into a shield firmly guarding his back.
Boom~
A loud noise erupted as a dazzling Sword Qi directly split the shield in half and then brutally struck down upon Jace.
