Chapter 1333: Chapter 1335 Sinking Chapter 1333: Chapter 1335 Sinking Granite glanced at the two people opposite him with a look of disdain on his face. With a wave of his right hand, the dragon whale creature, which resembled a giant wheel on the sea's surface, let out a roar and charged towards the small island once again.
Boom~
The surrounding waves surged up several meters high, almost submerging the entire surface of the small island. After a short while, when the waves receded, it was evident that the island had tilted significantly to one side.
The three players guarding the island had begun attacking the dragon whale creature. Clusters of fireballs the size of human heads flew towards it. Although the Fireball Spell was a low-level spell below the third tier for Mages, it was one of the most frequently used spells because of its great power, quick casting and short cooldown times, and most importantly, it had the least mana consumption of all the third-tier spells.
The three fireballs smashed fiercely against the body of the dragon whale creature, their impact not even slightly weaker than an RPG rocket. The dragon whale creature let out an agonized scream and spewed a barrage of seawater towards the three players.
Fist-sized, steel-hard water balls, mixed within a curtain of water, flew at the three players.
The players hurried to dodge, but one of them wasn't quick enough and was struck by a water ball from the barrage, coughing out blood fiercely as he fell towards the sea.
The other two hastily moved to rescue him, but the dragon whale creature, as if maddened, charged at the three of them. Granite, however, merely snorted coldly, and the creature shuddered before turning around and crashing into the island once again.
“Enough, Granite. Stop this!” Bokin roared in anger at Granite. “You were the one who left here of your own accord. Why have you come back now?”
“I left because I was weak!” A hint of humiliating fury flashed in Granite's eyes as he growled, “I've returned now for destruction!”
As he spoke, the black aura around him grew more intense, and he turned into a bolt of lightning, charging at the two men. In his hand, the Scythe of Death viciously sliced towards Bokin, who was in the lead.
Bokin's face changed drastically. The weapon in Granite's hand was emitting a Dark Gold glow; a piece of equipment from within the game with properties that allowed it to be brought out into the real world, a feature that sparked a hint of greed in Bokin's eyes.
Clang~
A sound of metal clashing rang out as the silent man beside Bokin, wielding a long sword, parried Granite's strike.
Granite was repelled but wore a sneer of contempt, saying to the man, “Mike, how many more times do you think your alloy sword can withstand my attacks?”
Mike Greer's face was ugly as he stared at the long sword in his hand, a pained expression crossing his face. He knew all too well that this sword, made from a special military-grade alloy he had acquired at great cost in the real world, was incredibly hard. But after just one clash, a crack big enough to fit a soybean had appeared on the blade's edge, with an almost imperceptible fissure extending back from it.
“At most, it can withstand three more collisions before this sword breaks!” Mike Greer thought to himself.
“Granite, you've indeed grown stronger since becoming part of the Abyssal Clan, but have you considered that you might attract the attention of others?” Bokin said gravely. “The military, for instance?”
It was well-known that players who ended up on this island were mostly those who were unwilling to “register,” but they had chosen to stay due to pressure from the national military.
Transforming into the Abyssal Clan inside the game wasn't a big deal. Since they were backed by the Abyssal Hell, no one troubled them. In fact, other races were fraught with fear of the Abyssal invasion.
But in the real world, anyone daring to reveal their identity as a member of the Abyssal Clan would definitely face repression from the national military. The military might still have peaceful negotiations with other ordinary players, but for those who had changed their class to the Abyssal Clan, the military would eliminate them upon discovery, one by one.
“He who is not one of us, will have a heart that is decidedly different,” having given up their human identities, those who became part of the opposing camp were soundly detested in the real world, treated like rats everyone clamored to strike down.
Granite's face changed, and he let out a cold snort, “After I finish you off, I'll have enough time to leave this place.”
Having said that, Granite brandished the Scythe of Death and continued to charge toward the two men. Bokin and Mike Greer also moved forward to meet him, engaging in a fierce battle.
As the fight ensued, more and more players appeared on the sea surface. Upon seeing the Dragon Whale Beast, these players who had escaped danger voluntarily joined the fray and attacked the creature.
However, most players automatically ignored the battle happening in the skies, knowing that anyone who could still fly in the real world was definitely among the elite. To rashly join their fight would likely result in an ugly death.
The Dragon Whale Beast, under attack, grew increasingly frenzied. Controlled by Granite, it couldn't attack those players, and so directed all its fury onto the small island instead.
In the game, such a place would definitely have protective magics, but this was the real world, where such things couldn't possibly exist. Even if players had the relevant skills, they wouldn't be able to get the materials for those magics.
Just as Song Jian emerged from the submarine tunnel, a sudden “boom” sounded behind him. He turned his head to look, only to see that the small island had begun to slowly sink into the sea bottom. Almost two-thirds of it that had been above sea level was now submerged.
Giant waves assaulted the area. The players who had ridden the elevator screamed as they rushed toward the remaining one-third of the island, but they were quickly swept away by the raging waves into the sea.
After all, not every player was formidable. In addition to losing their equipment buffs, many players around levels thirty to forty had only three or four times the physical ability of an ordinary person. In the face of a tsunami-like wave, they were virtually no different from regular people.
“This player haven has been destroyed,” Song Jian's face showed a hint of sorrow. After all, it was a foothold he had in the real world; now that it was gone, there was no telling where he would emerge from the game next time.
Roar~
An angry roar filled the air as the massive Dragon Whale Beast leapt from the ocean, jumping to a height of about ten meters above the sea surface. The creature looked particularly miserable with wounds all over its body and blood gushing out incessantly. Some areas even exposed stark white bones and inner organs.
Even without sustaining further attacks, this Dragon Whale Beast likely couldn't survive much longer unless it was a player's combat pet that could be immediately taken into Pet Space for recovery.
However, in the real world, players' Pet Space was sealed off, and it was unclear how this Dragon Whale Beast had been brought out of the game. It appeared to have its mind controlled, used as a disposable asset.
After hovering in the air for a moment, the Dragon Whale Beast viciously crashed down toward the sea, precisely on the one-third of the island that was yet to sink.
A multitude of players were under the beast's shadow, their faces showing utter despair as they cried out in alarm. Song Jian involuntarily gasped and couldn't help but swim away to a distance, knowing that the impact would not only obliterate the island but also create a huge wave that would spell disaster for the surrounding players.
Boom!
With a loud noise, the Dragon Whale Beast let out a pitiful scream and the light in its eyes slowly dimmed. Its huge body, along with the island, gradually sank beneath the sea surface.
