Chapter 1314: Chapter 1316 Discovery Chapter 1314: Chapter 1316 Discovery Crack~
A light sound, and the originally hard rock, like tofu, was pierced by the Sky-breaking Sword. Song Jian exerted a tug, and with a “pop,” a fist-sized raw purple crystal ore was extracted.
Such an easy find of a purple crystal ore; if those from the Abyssal Human Clan saw this, their jaws would probably drop in shock.
You should know, those Goblin Miners could only dig up two or three raw purple crystal ores at most in a day. If it were as effortless for all as it was for Song Jian, this purple crystal mine would probably have been mined clean by the Abyssal Human Clan long ago.
“Thank goodness, the Sky-breaking Sword didn't disappoint me…” A smile emerged at the corner of Song Jian's mouth.
The raw purple crystal ore in his hand emitted a faint purple halo, and as Song Jian held it, a warm feeling seeped out from the ore.
With eyes closed slightly, Song Jian quickly extracted the energy from the raw purple crystal ore, and his battle experience began to rise.
1%… 2%… 3%…
This single piece of purple crystal ore directly boosted Song Jian's battle experience by 3.6%, surprising him.
“I originally thought that these raw ores containing lesser energy wouldn't provide much battle experience, but unexpectedly…” Song Jian's smile grew even brighter. Looking around, there were at least two to three hundred purple crystal ores in this mining pit. Although of lower quality, they were enough to raise his level by three or four tiers.
“There must be higher quality raw purple crystal ores inside. This time, I'm going to strike it rich…” Song Jian laughed heartily.
…
Mine Entrance
Abraham, the captain of Mad Wolf Squad, peered into the mine, the deep pit emanating a faint purple glow. All the Goblin Miners were squatting at the entrance of the mine, their eyes blankly staring about.
These Goblin Miners were not of a high level, only around the forties, dressed in tattered clothing, wielding simple mining picks in their hands. What was surprising was that the tips of their mining picks were also made of raw purple crystal ore.
However, the rock walls of purple crystal ore were extremely hard and, without a decent mining pick, these Goblin Miners with just over forty levels of strength would not have been able to mine any purple crystal ores.
“Kanta, do you think that divine favored one will come to the purple crystal mine?” Abraham stared into the depths of the purple crystal mine, muttering to himself, “Those divine favored ones are incredibly greedy. If they knew of a purple crystal mine here, they would pounce like the hounds from the Abyss. If he himself is not strong enough, he will gather more divine favored ones…”
“Kanta, do you think the Golden Royalty can really hold them off, like during the last upheaval?” Abraham seemed to recall something, shuddering involuntarily, and dared not continue.
“Abraham, don't scare yourself. Didn't you just say there is only one divine favored one? The Guardian has already gone there. Divine favored ones may rise in power quickly, but they are unlikely to match a Guardian. Maybe you'll soon receive news to return to the castle…” Kanta said ponderously.
Abraham sighed silently in his heart and shook his head slightly. He thought to himself, “Divine favored ones are like a swarm of locusts. They have special pathways to communicate with each other. As soon as one of them discovers this place, it won't be long before more and more divine favored ones appear here, each stronger than the last…”
After waiting a few more hours, there was still no disturbance near the mine entrance and no message for Mad Wolf Squad to return to the castle, casting a shadow over the hearts of the two captains. It seemed that the Guardian had not found the divine favored one.
Kanta turned his head to look at the entrance of the mine, his mood becoming somewhat tense. He knew that as they stood guard here, they were assigned a mining task every month. To waste half a day doing nothing, today's task would probably go unfulfilled.
“Start working, let the Goblin Miners go in and mine!” Kanta couldn't help but bellow, “Make sure these vermin pay attention, report anything unusual immediately!”
The Goblin Miners began to noisily head towards the depths of the mine, while a few of the Abyssal Humans guarding the entrance caught sight of the purple glow emanating from within, a fleeting glint of greed flashing in their eyes.
The Abyssal Human Clan could also utilize Purple Crystal ore for cultivation, albeit not absorbing it as quickly as the god-favored; yet, a fist-sized nugget of Purple Crystal ore, even of lesser quality, could save them over ten days of cultivation time.
Even the few Abyssal Humans guarding the entrance to the mine found that simply absorbing some of the energy that leaked from within could speed up their cultivation by two or three times. Thus, such guard duty was seen as an enviable job by the Abyssal Human Clan.
Abraham glanced at his subordinates, noticing a few of them becoming restless. He sighed in his heart, “Kulu, Zuo Han, stay alert, the rest of you begin cultivating!”
Members of the Mad Wolf Squad showed a trace of delight on their faces. With their tribe consisting of thousands, opportunities like guarding the mine were rare; they considered themselves lucky this time.
Just as everyone had begun to cultivate, a sudden cry echoed from inside the mine. Those who had just entered the meditative state were shocked, with a few so disturbed that they suffered a backlash and coughed up blood.
“What's going on?” Abraham abruptly stood up and looked towards the entrance of the mine.
It wasn't long before a Goblin Miner came running out of the entrance, gesticulating and ranting to Kanta with a look of panic on his face.
Kanta listened for a while, his expression turning ugly.
“Someone sneaked into the mine and stole quite a few Purple Crystal ores…” Kanta said.
“What, how is that possible? Where did he come from?” Abraham was startled, wearing a look of disbelief.
“Go, let's take a look inside!” Kanta said through gritted teeth. If the town's revered ones learned of the theft at the mine, Kanta, as the Guardian in charge, would bear the greatest responsibility, and their entire squad would surely be punished.
Kanta and several members with third-tier Combat Power hurried towards the mine. Abraham hesitated for a moment, then followed along with his two deputy captains. Although they had just arrived, they were also Guardians. If the mine had indeed been stolen from, the Mad Wolf Squad would face repercussions as well.
“Damn it, we've been here for less than three hours…” Abraham fumed inwardly. Without reaping any benefit, they faced getting caught in the fallout and punished, which felt like the worst of luck.
In a short while, being led by the Goblin Miners, Kanta and Abraham arrived at a mining pit. Staring at the uneven hollows on the rock face, Kanta's expression was so dark, it seemed like he could drip water.
“Someone sneaked in; all these ores were excavated just now…” Kanta stared at a hollow, grinding his teeth as he spoke.
The lingering aura of Purple Crystal ore in the hollows suggested recent mining. Had it been mined long ago, there would be no residue of Purple Crystal aura. Moreover, this part of the mine was unexplored, where no Goblin Miners would have entered to dig.
“Get all the squad members in here, even if we have to turn this mine upside down, we must find this mole…” Kanta's eyes turned red as he shouted loudly.
