I Hate You, Devil! Chapter 140 - Everything

As soon as Luo Xiaolei's voice died down, Yu Chen's gaze became intent. 

He stared quietly at her face, silent. He could somehow tell that whatever she wanted to say would be something serious. 

After a while, he finally spoke. 

"Go on." He calmly said. 

Luo Xiaolei took a deep breath. But before a word could leave her mouth, they heard a knock on the on the door. 

When Yang Jin and an old doctor entered, Luo Xiaolei stood and greeted them while Yu Chen was silent, looking absolutely displeased because of the interruption.

Yang Jin of course immediately realized that they must have entered in a wrong time but he couldn't do anything about it but to ignore the chilling gaze directed at him. 

The doctors then started to perform all kinds of checks on Yu Chen's body. 

By the time they were done, Luo Xiaolei moved closer to Yang Jin. 

"How is he?" Luo Xiaolei asked. She was afraid that what he did today affected his recovery so she was a little anxious. 

"He's better now Miss. He can home tomorrow afternoon." Yang Jin said and Luo Xiaolei exhaled in relief. 

Luo Xiaolei accompanied the doctors out. As soon as they were out of Yu Chen's room, Luo Xiaolei asked Yang Jin to stay for a while. 

"Dr. Yang, I'm… please don't think I'm doubting your abilities or anything, okay? It's just that you were the one who told me that Yu Chen have to stay here for more than ten days to ensure his safety. So I'm confused. Is it really okay for him to be discharged tomorrow?" 

The words that Luo Xiaolei said obviously surprised Yang Jin. But at the same time, he looked like he was amaze by something that she had said. 

"What I told you was actually based on his previous records. Yu Chen used to take so long to recuperate but now, it surprised me because he is recuperating much faster than before. I believe this is because he suddenly became very cooperative. You don't know how hard it was to restrain him before. We had to sedate him many times just so he could stay still and rest. Pain tells you when you've pushed too far or when something is terribly wrong, but because he can't feel anything, he didn't know when to stop. I can't even count how many times he broke his bones and never noticed it." Yang Jin sighed. "Sigh, people might think that a life without physical pain is a blessing but not being able to feel pain is actually a curse." 

As Luo Xiaolei listened to the doctor, she felt her heart twisting in pain. There was an inexplicable sensation of anguish that kept being triggered inside her and it was getting more intense every single time she learned something about Yu Chen. 

The strangest thing was that, this certain feeling doesn't seem to be new to her. She felt as though it was a feeling that had been originally residing in her heart since long time ago and was now just slowly resurfacing. 

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to talk about this depressing things about him." 

Luo Xiaolei was brought back to the present. She looked at the doctor who obviously noticed her gloomy expression and she forced a smile.

"No, it's okay. Actually, I'm very glad that you're sharing me all this." She said and the doctor was relieved. 

"Don't worry Miss. He's not fully healed yet but it's actually safer for him to spend the remaining days of his recuperation in Scarlet Hill. Now please go back inside Miss. I'm certain he's waiting for you now." The doctor grinned and when Luo Xiaolei nodded, he excused himself and left. 

Luo Xiaolei pushed the door opened and a pair of alluring eyes greeted her. Yu Chen was already dressed in a new pair of loose white pajamas and... his s.e.xy collarbones were peeking out. 'Oh gosh! Is this man seducing me now?'

Somehow, Luo Xiaolei's gloomy expression was immediately overthrown by the blinding appearance of this irresistible man on the bed. His hair looked as dark as ink, and his skin was still as pale as vampire's, as if the blood he lost still wasn't replaced. He was just so damn striking as always but his appearance right now was radiating, dazzling like a priceless gem. Perhaps, it was because this was the first time she saw him wore a thin and loose all-white outfit. 

Taking a long deep breath to regain her composure, Luo Xiaolei walked to the bathroom. When she was done, she headed straight to Yu Chen's bed. 

"Okay, time for you to sleep." She said and she laid beside him. The night was still young but she had learned her lesson. If she won't sleep, this man will also stay awake. He was obediently closing his eyes but Luo Xiaolei knew he was not sleeping so she had no choice but sleep early and would just wake up at dawn to do the things she had to do. 

Time passed and Luo Xiaolei's eyes were already shut closed when suddenly, she felt a warm arm wrapped around her from behind. 

Luo Xiaolei was stunned. She felt his breathe touching her ear and she froze. 

"W-w-what are you doing? You can't…" Luo Xiaolei stammered but she didn't dare made a single move. 

"Yang Jin said it's okay now." He replied. She could feel his warm breath touching the back of her neck and it sent shivers down her spine. 

"H-huh? I didn't hear him said that."

"I'm not lying." 

"You don't like it?"

"T-that's not it. It's just that I'm worried."

"You don't have anything to worry about. I'm really alright now."

"How could you say so?" Luo Xiaolei turned. "You can't feel…"

As soon as their eyes met, Luo Xiaolei swallowed the rest of her words. She saw his eyes opened wide and Luo Xiaolei bite her lips as she sunk back to her prior position. 

When Luo Xiaolei felt the sudden stillness of his body, she face palmed herself inside her head. She too remained unmoving but she was waiting for him to say something. But the man remained silent. 

"You… you don't want me to know?" Finally, she broke the silence. She felt his fingers moved. "I was the one who asked Dr. Yang. I forced him to tell me about your condition." She confessed. 

After a long while, "Mm," was all he could say.

Creasing her brows, Luo Xiaolei wanted to turn and look at his face, but she didn't. "Were you actually trying to hide this from me?" 

"I… I don't want you to worry unnecessarily." 

Luo Xiaolei was suddenly annoyed with the word he just used. "Ha! Unnecessarily?" she chuckled angrily. She really wanted to turn and pinched this man and scold him good but she restrained himself. She was afraid that once she turned and look at him, he will just use his beauty trap to calm her down and make her forget about the real issue again. 

She sighed to regain her composure. "Yu Chen, do you still remember when I said that we should know each other's first?" she asked.

"Yes." 

"If I tell you that I wanted to know everything about you… would you let me… would you be willing to reveal everything to me?" 

A deafening silence followed suit. Luo Xiaolei felt his body stiffened again. His arm which was wrapped around her slightly tightened.

His reaction made Luo Xiaolei felt anxious. When she couldn't take it anymore, she slowly turned and faced him. 

As their eyes met, what Luo Xiaolei saw in his eyes was indescribable. His gaze was filled with overflowing emotions but what shocked her the most was that, for a moment, she saw fear in his eyes. 

When Luo Xiaolei blinked, it was gone. She didn't want to believe what she saw because she found it impossible. Why would this man of all people feel fear just because she said she wanted to know everything about him? But she saw it, with her own two eyes! 

Luo Xiaolei was about to speak again when she saw Yu Chen finally opening his mouth. His gaze at her turned incredibly intense. 

And then, he spoke. "If I tell you I wanted to know everything about you… would you be willing to reveal everything to me?"
