I Hate You, Devil! 141 One day

Luo Xiaolei was surprised with Yu Chen's comeback. Maybe because it had been a long time since the last time this man returned her question like this, it seemed that she had become used to him always responding so honestly that his response this time was such a surprise to her.

But the question he returned to her made her realize something. How could she ask him to reveal everything to her when she herself never once opened up to him?

She felt somewhat ashamed. Hearing her own question being thrown back at her really hit her hard. Gladly, Luo Xiaolei had already decided one thing that night when she was watching the still unconscious Yu Chen. That decision she made helped her to quickly decide what kind of answer she should give right now.

As she stared at him, Luo Xiaolei could sense him getting impatient. She thought that her silence might be frustrating him now, yet, Luo Xiaolei stubbornly refused to be the first to break the silence this time. She wanted him to be the first to answer. Would he say "yes" even if he wasn't sure if she would say the same?

She looked at him with an eyes saying the words 'I was the first who asked'.

The silence dragged on. As she stared at his glorious face, Luo Xiaolei felt that he seemed to be wavering, as if he was torn by some internal dilemma, perhaps trying to make the decision right then whether he would say 'yes' or 'no'.

Silently, they just looked into each other's eyes, seemingly trying to read each other's thoughts.

After an immeasurable time, unexpectedly, Yu Chen was the first to give in. He released a quiet, deep breath as his eyes never left her.

Luo Xiaolei rejoiced internally. This would be the very first time she managed to stand her ground against him. However, before Luo Xiaolei could even start savoring her victory, something changed in Yu Chen's eyes. The gentle and innocent look in his eyes suddenly disappeared into thin air and what replaced it was a scorching glow of an unknown emotion.

His eyes became incredibly intense, so intense that it overwhelmed her to the core. Goosebumps even started crawling all over her skin and she didn't know why. This wasn't the same as the feeling she got when she saw him raging. This was entirely different.

"Do you really want to know everything about me?" he asked. His voice was firm, almost hard. But at the same time, there seemed to be a faint sadness in them. She didn't know anymore. This Yu Chen before her at that moment was absolutely not in his adorable panda mode. He was like a tremendously intimidating beast.

And then, she finally remembered that this feeling she had right now was exactly the same as what she felt towards him the very first time he approached her. But what worse this time was that, he sounded like he was giving her a warning.

She was finally reminded just who this man was. There's a whole lot more about him than just being her adorable panda. And everybody knew that he was an enigma; a man of secrets.

At that moment, Luo Xiaolei realized that knowing everything about this man would definitely come with a price. That once she learns about his secrets, she might never be allowed to leave his grasp ever again.

Luo Xiaolei swallowed her own saliva. She remained silent for an immeasurable amount of time.

"Tell me, please…" She was bewildered by the sudden change in his tone. And then, he was back. His eyes tender again and Luo Xiaolei was dumbstruck on just how fast he could switch from being the devil back to being the innocent panda.

The tension in the air disappeared and the first thing Luo Xiaolei did was took a deep breath before pouting at him.

"Just now… were you trying to give me a warning?" she finally asked and Yu Chen blinked. The next second, he bit his lips.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to… Did I scare you?"

When Luo Xiaolei shook her head, the man looked relieved.

"I just want to know if you are serious." His lips pressed together into a cautious line.

"I am. Serious."

Yu Chen's eyes circled. Disbelief was evident in his eyes. It was obvious that he didn't expect her answer at all.

More than three seconds went by before Yu Chen could regain his senses. He stared deeply in her eyes again as if he was scrutinizing her every expression. And then, the corner of his lips slightly lifted before the word "Yes," suddenly came out of his mouth.

"Huh? Yes?" Luo Xiaolei was cofused. But the next words he uttered stunned her again.

"I'm willing to tell you everything. But I have a request." He said almost sounded unwillingly and Luo Xiaolei snapped back to reality.

"Request…? What is it?" she couldn't help but feel somewhat anxious. Is he going to ask her to marry him first again? Maybe, he'll ask her to reveal everything to him as well?

"Please allow me not to answer questions about one particular matter. Just one." He sounded serious and pleading.

Luo Xiaolei was silenced. Of course, she absolutely understood why he was requesting for this. She knew that everyone had that something they just could not reveal to anyone. Even she had some and it was not just one or two.

But she was more curious than ever before. She knew she had to agree since he was now willing to reveal everything except for this one particular matter. It was just one thing and yet Luo Xiaolei found herself being unexpectedly greedy. Her curiosity about this one thing was so intense that she was not willing to let go. She was surprised by her own self. When did she become like this? It was like she was so obsessed with him now!

"about this one thing… are you going to keep it a secret from me forever?" she asked. She saw Yu Chen's mouth turned agape because of surprise. Well, she couldn't blame him because she herself didn't even know why she just couldn't let this go. She was being shocked by no one but herself.

Yu Chen pressed his lips tightly again, staring at her through his slightly narrowed eyes. He looked like he was deciding.

After a long while, he averted his gaze away, avoiding her eyes. His focus fell on her neck.

"No," he finally answered, shocking Luo Xiaolei again.

"So you mean, you will reveal it to me in the future?"

He nodded. "One day."

Luo Xiaolei blinked in disbelief. Her lips subconsciously parted and she was at a loss for words.

"Your turn." Yu Chen said and Luo Xiaolei was pulled back to the present. She cleared her throat and struggled to think clearly.

"S-same with you. I also have one thing I never want to talk about." She replied and she saw Yu Chen's shoulders became relaxed.

"Never?"

"Er… I… I'll think about it."

Surprisingly, Yu Chen didn't try to probe about it. "I understand."

"Okay then, I'll be the first to ask. We will take turn in asking." Luo Xiaolei said and the agreed without any hesitation.

"Go ahead." She heard him speak but Luo Xiaolei was now preoccupied with what she should ask first. She realized she had so much that she wanted to know she couldn't choose what to ask first at that moment.

"Okay, here I go." She began, now staring at his eyes deeper than ever. "That night during my grandfather's birthday, what is the real reason why you suddenly approached me?"
