Chapter 1249: Chapter 1250 Exploding Huazi Chapter 1249: Chapter 1250 Exploding Huazi In the Golden Wheel Temple, various cultivators who had been turned away by the major temples already felt disheartened, but now they heard that the master would go out of his way to offer them a course to lecture on the scriptures and chant spells, and pass on the Buddhist Law. They couldn't be happier, truly a master with a million merits, not someone ordinary people could compare with.
Such magnanimity and breadth of spirit is something ordinary people cannot cultivate in a lifetime.
The next morning.
In the heart of Golden Wheel City, Ergouzi led Xiao Lao Di, his bodyguard, towards the platform to prepare for a reverse brainwashing session for all the cultivators in the city.
Li Xiaobai, however, brought Ji Wuqing to the highest point in the entire city, a small range of hills. Although the summit was not very high, it was enough to overlook the entire Golden Wheel City.
After pondering deeply last night, he finally came up with a brilliant plan to effortlessly bring all the cultivators in the city under his influence.
His goal was not truly to enlighten the world, but simply to pull people out from the baptism of the Power of Faith and back to reality; and to achieve this, a forceful breakdown was undoubtedly the most efficient choice.
Setting up a shop for the cultivators to buy from Huazi was a matter for later; right now, the priority was to awaken everyone at this very moment, and then let Ergouzi happily take them under his command.
At the mountaintop.
Li Xiaobai and Ji Wuqing looked down upon the sea of people below, with cultivators gathering spontaneously toward the center where a man and a dog stood.
“Kid, what are you planning to do?”
“Why are we here?”
Ji Wuqing asked puzzledly; they were confused about the purpose of climbing up to the mountaintop.
“This is the best spot for a one-time move. A divine maiden scattering flowers; right here in the sky above Golden Wheel City, we are about to launch the first salvo for liberation of thought!”
Li Xiaobai spoke indifferently, turning his wrist and taking out two items: a large bag of Huazi in his left hand, and a large handful of Firecracker Thunderclap in his right. His idea was simple: find a high point, use Firecracker Thunderclap to ignite Huazi, and blast it into a powder mist that would descend like rain droplets, enveloping the entire city. Wouldn't the cultivators in the city be able to return to normal?
The reason for using Firecracker Thunderclap was because it was the least powerful explosive, and other explosives were either aimed at Earth Immortal Realm or Heavenly Immortal Realm. Detonating them in the sky could potentially harm the innocent, so it was better to use something less powerful.
“You want to enlighten people, to let the common folk see through the true nature of the Buddhist Sect, and then willingly join us? By then, not only their resources but also the people themselves will be ours!”
Ji Wuqing inquired.
“Indeed, in all my life, Li has never sought wealth; where there is injustice, I will roar in response; I will act when it's time to act. These common folk are innocent; they have been misled by the Buddhist Sect and have suffered undeservedly. Today, Li intends to rescue the world's people and restore righteousness to the land!”
Li Xiaobai's demeanor was solemn as he spoke righteously.
Hearing this, Ji Wuqing was moved to respect: “If such is your sentiment, we are indeed on the same level!”
“Time is of the essence, so let's not waste words and get to work!”
Li Xiaobai tossed two piles of items to Ji Wuqing – one was Huazi, the other was Firecracker Thunderclap – startling the little chicken into retracting its neck.
“Be careful, do you not know how dangerous these are? If they explode, I won't be able to help you again,” warned Ji Wuqing, jumping three feet high. If subjected to a violent collision, the Firecracker Thunderclap would detonate, and such a casual act by Li Xiaobai had truly frightened it; if the pile exploded, it would be in for a world of trouble.
Below.
Ergouzi and Xiao Lao Di were already prepared. After a night of spreading the word, all the disciples of the Buddhist Sect in the city had come, wanting to listen and witness the master's miraculous moment.
“Master, what sort of spell are we disciples going to learn today?”
A disciple from the Buddhist Sect could hardly wait. He was one of the cultivators present yesterday at the Golden Wheel Temple, having tasted the sweet benefits offered by Huazi, he had become somewhat addicted and was eager to experience that sensation once more. After all, it was incredibly exhilarating and utterly without side effects–who wouldn't love that?
“Amitabha, one small spell a day, the Buddha never likes empty talk, let's get right to the solid stuff. Everyone, follow me and chant, 'Nicholas is awesome!'”
Ergouzi's eyes sparkled with excitement as he bellowed out the command.
The surrounding cultivators, uncertain, followed and shouted out, “Nicholas is awesome!”
Could this thing really be called a spell?
Isn't this just a convoluted way of getting them to kiss ass and praise someone else?
But just as the cultivators were feeling somewhat perplexed, suddenly, a bang sounded in the void–the roar of thunder exploded, deafening and shaking the heavens, and the sky suddenly darkened as vast amounts of white fog rolled in, slowly enveloping the skies above Golden Wheel City from the void.
“What is this?”
“This white fog… holy crap, it actually has the effect of enhancing insight and cleansing the five viscera and six bowels!”
“Could it be because of that spell we chanted?”
“This humble monk has heard that the spell taught by the Master yesterday was called 'Wuhu takeoff.' It's said that the cultivators who recited it experienced a surge in cultivation levels, and those facing bottlenecks found them easily resolved!”
“We'd better chant it a few more times!”
The monks whispered among themselves, discussing animatedly.
Tentatively, they shouted towards the sky again: “Nicholas is awesome!”
“Boom!”
Another bout of thunder boomed, a terrifying sensation of an explosion surged through the air, as if the heavens themselves were angry and sought to tear the entire firmament apart.
“Swish, swish!”
Countless white dust particles fell, they were the dust vaporized by the explosion, falling like snowflakes, fully shrouding the cultivators within, feeling the miraculous power transmitted from it. Whether they were of high cultivation levels or those who only knew simple techniques, each shivered and their eyes shone brightly.
This time they really had hit the jackpot, about to make an on-the-spot breakthrough; although they didn't understand a word the Master had taught them thus far, it didn't hinder them from breaking through their bottlenecks and leveling up!
It was their first time under the Master's guidance to witness such miraculous effects, something they'd never heard of before. Even the most formidable masters provided conceptual teachings, which are often the most profound, and even if a Master spared no effort in teaching, there was no guarantee one could immediately attain enlightenment–you have to accumulate knowledge bit by bit through your own understanding. In the Buddhist Sect, there is no such thing as an instant success.
But the appearance of Ergouzi had broken their conventional cognizance–good heavens, with just a few words from this foreign monk, they made a breakthrough on the spot. Now this is truly delivering the goods!
“Boom boom boom!”
The thunder in the sky continued to explode incessantly, and the thick white fog came in wave after wave, tightly wrapping the town within.
With enhanced insight and the cleansing of the poison of the Power of Faith, the gazes of many began to turn distracted and disillusioned.
Ergouzi, looking at the scene before him, said cheerfully, “How do you like this little spell from the Buddha?”
The cultivators expressed their gratitude: “Thank you, Master, for your teaching, with the word comes the law, a casual remark yields golden advice that moves heaven and earth to create marvels, this is truly a high monk with great virtue, we thank you, Master, for showing us the profound truth!”
