Chapter 1229: Chapter 1230: Fleeing Chapter 1229: Chapter 1230: Fleeing “Fuck!”
“This damn thing is like the sun!”
Dan Dao's scalp exploded with shock. This was a natural disaster, impervious to human strength–no, not even a Saint Realm powerhouse could handle it. How could there possibly be someone in the world who could drag the sun around?
And just two children at that?
“The power is extraordinary, the great sun like a wheel, balanced and even. Are these two brats trying to level the Blood Demon Sect?”
“Where on earth did these children come from?”
A group of Saint Realm powerhouses couldn't care less about Li Xiaobai at this moment; they retreated rapidly, backing away, fearing even a touch of the sun's force.
“Look, the sun is getting closer, and it isn't dawn yet–it's still deep night.”
The chubby child spoke in a milky voice.
“If the sun stops here, it will be daytime forever!”
The other child, refusing to be outdone, strengthened the pull on the sun above with his hands.
The scorching fireball got closer and closer, nearly reaching the Blood Demon Sect. The sect itself turned into a giant, fiery furnace, with the cultivators inside enduring the roasting heat, getting hotter as it drew nearer.
Just then, the sky suddenly tore open a huge gap, and a large, pale bone claw reached out, grabbed the sun, and violently tore it apart. The scene before everyone's eyes was shredded like tattered cloth, revealing the Blood Demon Sect's true appearance.
A few Saint Realm powerhouses had a chill run through them; they returned to normal this instant. Both the sun and the two children were like paper figures–torn in half, like the dropping of a curtain, revealing their true form.
The Blood Demon Sect was still the Blood Demon Sect; no children disputing the sun, and no giant sun burning their eyebrows off. Everything was an illusion, and the people stood dumbfounded, staring at the pieces of the scene at their feet–with a child drawn on it, a paper figure, smiling at them.
“Have we been trapped in an illusion?”
“Were all those an Illusionary Realm? An attack aimed at the Divine Soul!”
Dan Dao from the Shadow Demon Lineage was the first to recover, his pupils constricted with shock–for so many powerful beings to be drawn into an illusion so seamlessly required incredible skill.
“No good, that bald guy must have escaped–chase him!”
Blood Fiend Elder shouted angrily, soaring into the sky to chase beyond the sect's gates.
“No need!”
“A bunch of trash! You expect soldiers to show their worth in battle after years of training, yet when it comes down to it, you all fail me. A mere painting plunged all of you into an endless illusion, unable to free yourselves. If it wasn't for me stepping in, would you all just sit idly by, waiting to be slain by the atmosphere in the painting?”
“Xueshenzi” spoke coldly.
“We were careless and didn't expect him to have such tricks up his sleeve, completely unpredictable!”
“However, he couldn't have gotten far. If we follow the remnants of space's aura, we should be able to recapture him!”
Shame was evident on everyone's faces; not one of the many masters present could extricate themselves from the illusion, or even realize what was happening, which was utterly beneath a Saint Realm powerhouse.
“That will be unnecessary. Even if you chase after him, it won't do any good. Common Intentions are inscribed in a carrier, leading people into pictorial scenes to attack, but today's Intention directly affected reality, melding the entire sect with Intention. You didn't notice because the execution of this technique was too cunning.”
“There's no one else I can think of in today's Central Origin Realm with such capability, other than me–only Beichen Feng from the Eastern Continent has this skill. No third person comes to mind!”
Xueshenzi spoke slowly; he had sensed a familiar aura earlier and now it seemed all but certain that it was Beichen Feng, the Helmsman from the Enforcement Team of the Eastern Continent!
“Confucian Path's sage Beichen Feng?”
“Wasn't he known for not leaving the Eastern Continent's Enforcement Team for over a thousand years?”
“How come he has come out today, and to create such havoc in the Blood Demon Sect?”
Upon hearing this, everyone was greatly shocked. Beichen Feng, the sage of the Confucian Path, was a well-known figure; even if they had never seen him, by the time they had just entered the Cultivation World, he was already a significant presence standing at the pinnacle of the Central Origin Realm.
In their view, he was one of the few who could compete with the Blood Demon Sect's Sect Master, Xueshenzi.
“If he took action himself, it means the era of chaos is about to unfold, people are growing restless, and the time for heroes to compete has arrived once again!”
“But what is the purpose behind stealing Qiantong Shen? What's the significance behind this action; could it be he's hinting at something to me?”
“No, wait–Qiantong Shen has been here all along. If he wanted to steal it, he could have done it any time. Why wait until now? That means, he too covets the power of this child!”
Xueshenzi fell into contemplation, recognizing the methods of the Confucian Path's saint Beichen Feng but finding no clarity for his doubts, only growing more confused.
For nearly a thousand years their two families had been at peace, but today the other party, without any warning, came to his Blood Demon Sect to kidnap the child, proving his suspicions were right. There's an inexplicable secret held within that child, and Beichen Feng wants it too!
He had felt that something was off; as soon as he kidnapped the child himself, another powerhouse came to snatch them away. He had thought that the bald guy was Li Xiaobai, the Gang Leader of the Villian's Guild in disguise, but now it appeared there might be someone else. Beichen Feng had been staying in the Eastern Continent for years, intimately familiar with every whisper of the wind and blade of grass on the island. If what he suspected was accurate, then it was indeed him!
“That's enough, you all don't need to deal with this. I will handle it personally. All Elders should properly soothe their Sect Disciples. We must be more cautious in future Sect trials and assessments. I do not wish to see today's events happen a second time!”
“Upon returning, thoroughly investigate all cultivators of the Blood Demon Sect's various law veins–we now suspect a traitor among us!”
The Blood Demon Sect's Sect Master stated calmly, his voice tinged with fury. Just two people had entered the sect, and now both large and small have run off–essentially admitting that inviting cultivators to join was a pointless endeavor–total futile effort.
The Elders dared not disobey, and in unison responded: “Yes!”
At the same time.
On the edge of the Southern Continent, at a certain coastal area, Li Xiaobai, carrying a small wooden box, was looking sneakily in all directions. Only after ensuring no one had followed did he finally breathe a sigh of relief. The golden chariot beneath his feet plunged into the water, breaking through the waves and the wind.
To avoid detection, he didn't take the relatively safe harbour route but chose a more secluded area to travel. Compared to the countless strong members of the Blood Demon Sect chasing him, the sea was much calmer.
He pulled off the Human Skin Mask, revealing his true face.
“Hehehe, the baby's been rescued, and this round is mine!”
