I've Decided to Start Cooking Since I Found Out the Losing Potion was Soy Sauce

「Rofas-san, he may be your family, but you shouldn't force him to do things! People will hate you if you keep acting so selfishly! Give the candy back to Sagsan, please!」

I snapped and said. Rofas-san immediately froze up.
……Didn't he reflect on his actions earlier? Did he forget already…?

Sigh.

「Yuuri, I'm sorry. I don't want you to hate me. Um, you'll still make food for me, right?」

「If you're going to apologize, shouldn't it be to Sagsan? If you reflect on your actions properly and be more careful next time, I won't hate you, and I'll still make food for you.」

「I reflected! I shouldn't have done that, even if it's towards my own little brother. My bad, Saga, I'll give the candy back.」

Sagsan finally snapped out of his daze… Wait, did he? For some reason, he started laughing loudly. 

「Hahaha! Yuuri-chan, you're amazing. You're so tiny, and yet you can keep nii-san in his place with words alone. I like you. I won't give the candy to nii-san, but I'll give them to you, Yuuri-chan. How many do you want? Well, I don't have much on me right now, so is three okay?」

Sagsan gave me three round candies.

「Eh, um, it's not like I really want them… It's just, I said that if I had sugar, I could make this dish out of the kraken…」

Sagsan looked confused.

「Really? You're planning to eat the kraken?」

Rofas-san glared at Sagsan.

「There's no way Yuuri's lying!」

No, no, no! Why does he sound like he has full trust in me?!

「Okay, okay. Nii-san, can you be quiet for a second?」

「Um, in my hometown, we eat creatures that resemble the kraken. So, I thought it was edible, but… We won't know if it is unless we actually try it, so… I don't know, but… It's not poisonous, right?」

I shouldn't let my guard down just because the kraken looked similar to octopus. I asked to make sure we don't end up poisoned.

「It's fine, Yuuri!」

Rofas-san tapped his chest with his fist.

「I've got antidote herbs on me!」

That wasn't what I was worried about…

That was definitely not it…

Rofas-san then pulled out some leaves sticking out of a thick stalk out from his bag in a proud manner.

「Nii-san, those are losing antidote herbs… I don't know where you got those from, but you should be able to tell the difference, can't you? Actually, you can use judgment magic, so just use that and analyze it… If you can't find any, at least buy them from a pharmacy…」

Sagsan frowned at Rofas-san.

「Eh? Seriously?! This is the losing version?! Thank god you told me before I used it. If I ate a losing antidote herb while poisoned, it'll feel like all sorts of things will come out of my nose, eyes, and mouth.」

S-seriously?

「Rofas-san, are losing antidote herbs poisonous themselves?」

「No, they're not, but they taste awful… Awful enough to make you think they're poisonous.」

I took the stalk from Rofas-san, tore off a bit of the leaf and sniffed it.

「Huhhh?! This is?! Rofas-san, please give this to me! This isn't a pity prize! It's a winner! You see, in my hometown, these…」

I gasped, and looked at the kraken.

「What? So this losing antidote herb is actually tasty too? Okay, I'll gather as much as I can for you!」

Rofas-san said with delight.

「Huh? What do you mean, it's actually a what now?」

Geez, Rofas-san was the one who said he'll keep things a secret himself, yet he spoke without thinking…

「【Contract: Do not tell anybody else the information and secrets learned at the hut. Exchange for Yuuri's food.】」

Rofas-san suddenly offered a contract to Sagsan.

Sagsan shook his head.

Yeah, I agree, nobody in this world would simply agree to a contract just by being offered food in exchange… Ah, except for the musclehead standing in front of me.

「【Contract: Nii-san will go home after retiring as an adventurer. Will not tell anybody else anything that's considered a secret.】」

Sagsan said with a grin.

「【Contract Complete!】」

Rofas-san immediately agreed to the contract, causing Sagsan's mouth to drop.

「Huh? Nii-san, you kept saying how much you didn't want to go home, and yet you just agreed to do so after retiring… You accepted the contract that easily… Just what kind of amazing secrets are we talking about?」

I didn't really care about their conversation right now though.

I mean, I got the losing antidote herb from Rofas-san!

Then, there was the octopus in front.

Also, I even got some sugar, even if they're in the form of candy!

I can definitely make that now! I have to!

Fufufu~

I turned around and grabbed the kitchen knife.

「…inherit the throne… from the duke's family…」

「How old… before I retire…」

They were still discussing something, but… I know!
