I Became the Progenitor Vampire Chapter 292

Chapter 292: Chapter 294: Equipment Manufacturing (6400 words) Chapter 292: Chapter 294: Equipment Manufacturing (6400 words) “Dawn Power is a mighty force belonging to the Divine,”
“The Dawn Power can make equipment more solid, weapons sharper… this force possesses unimaginable potency.

Yet, because the power is so advanced and strong, it cannot be enchanted onto equipment like magic.

Now, the main issue we face is how to enchant this Divine power onto our gear!”

The Clan Leader of the Gray Mountain Tribe, Moer, whose face was disfigured by Dragon Breath, stood solemnly in the center of the conference room within the Alchemy Factory, next to the round table, voicing his opinion.

“I believe that to solve this problem, we need to follow the same steps as with alchemy. First, we must thoroughly research the attributes of the Dawn Power, then create related alchemy formulas based on its attributes, and finally, craft alchemy materials capable of containing the Dawn Power!”

The goblins around Moer nodded in agreement.

“That's right, alchemy is the best…”

“The Clan Leader spoke perfectly; we will definitely help resolve this major issue for His Majesty.”

“Goblins are most suited for this…”

“No, Moer, that would take too much time!” Dwarf Forging Master Valen stood up abruptly, slapping the table, as his big beard with two braids swung fiercely, his eyes showing dissatisfaction.

“Dawn Power belongs to His Majesty, the Divine Power!

You cannot possibly decipher it in a short time. Although this method is somewhat viable, it would take at least decades or even centuries.

We cannot afford the time.

Therefore, the best approach is to let us Dwarves create alloys according to the different properties of metals, then forge these into weapons and finally imbue the Dawn Power. There must be some metal material that can contain the Dawn Power!”

Valen's fellow Dwarves shouted excitedly behind him.

“Yes, Dwarf forging skills are invincible!”

“No one is more suitable than the Dwarves…”

“Forge God above, I've already thought of twenty metal compositions and forging techniques…”

Moer's eyes widened in an instant, “Alchemy would be faster than your method…”

As Valen prepared to retort, a Bloodline representative from the Dawn Mage Tower interjected.

“No, Dawn Power is not as shallow as those forces you know of; simple methods won't achieve our objective.

Magic, only magic is the best solution to this matter!

We just need to devise a Magic Array that can contain the Dawn Power and use magic to infuse it…”

Moer argued loudly, “No, magic isn't omnipotent, His Majesty's power is clearly of a higher level than Magic Power.

Only alchemy is the best solution to this problem…”

Valen shook his head resolutely, “No, only relying on the Dwarves' metal forging skills is the best solution! Neither magic nor alchemy will work…”

“Dwarves, only magic is eternal!” the Bloodline representative from the Dawn Mage Tower scoffed.

“No, it's alchemy that's…”

“Dwarf forging skills…”

Representatives from the three factions heatedly argued in the spacious conference room, each with valid points, but unable to convince the others.

Lide, who held the main seat at the conference table, watched the scene unfold with a calm face, letting the factions argue fiercely, as if the altercation before him was nothing significant.

Dean Horn, the elder of the Risier family and the first dean of the Dawn Academy, who bore the title of a polymath, noticed a slight frown on Lide's forehead.

Turning to look at the human scholars behind him, and without waiting for them to speak, Horn stood up determinedly and joined the great debate.

“Gentlemen, I must say, we are here to discuss solutions, not to argue about whose faction is more powerful!”

With a voice imbued with Magic Power echoing in the conference room, although Horn was only an intermediate Mage, the room quieted down.

Realizing their behavior, and seeing the ever-silent Lide with his calm expression, everyone immediately became subdued, no longer daring to raise their voices.

Lide observed the now quiet room with interest.

Moer represented the Alchemy Factory, the Tusk of the Air Force. As the triumph of bombing two thousand Centaurs at the Dwarf Hills circulated within Dawn City, the status of the Alchemy Factory was steadily rising.

Valen represented the Weapons Factory, currently the hottest section in Dawn City. They contributed significantly to the city and reaped countless riches from the Dwarf Hills.

The Bloodline that Lide was somewhat unfamiliar with came with an even more exaggerated background as the representative of the Dawn Mage Tower.

The Dawn Mage Tower was almost exclusively Bloodline territory, with nearly all Bloodlines learning and researching magic there.

Aside from the Bloodlines alone, just the title of 'Spellcasters' represented by the Dawn Mage Tower was enough to showcase their exalted status. In this magical world, even a marginal second-level Mage would dare to scoff at a fifth-level Intermediate Warrior.

The last, Horn, represented the once elite of Risier City, now the Dawn Academy.

Lide naturally understood the potential held by the Academy. Although currently small and weak, it would become a pillar of Dawn City in the future.

Horn represented the future.

These were currently the four largest departments in Dawn City, and forces that Lide had intentionally cultivated.

Of course, no matter how much they expanded, these departments, directly under the jurisdiction of the City Hall, were all under his absolute control. Upon receiving orders, they would obey, even if it meant charging into fire or onto the blade, preventing any embarrassing infighting.

Presently, the administration system of Dawn City tended toward a modern structure, yet it merged the characteristics of Glory.

Each department, according to its own unique characteristics, worked independently, yet cooperated under the unified coordination of the City Hall.

The recent debate amongst a few individuals was merely a scramble to secure the work of forging equipment resistant to holy power, a type of healthy competition which Lide didn't oppose.

Dean Horn sighed in relief as the room quieted down, respectfully gave Lide a glance, and after ensuring that the latter had no desire to speak, he then said,
“Alchemy, forging skill, magic, these are the treasures of Dawn City.

However, the methods you all mentioned for creating equipment resistant to the erosion of holy power are difficult to achieve.

It may even consume a vast amount of time without much chance of success…”

After a few leaders calmed down, they unusually did not argue with Horn but instead revealed contemplative expressions.

Alchemy and forging skill, combined with magic that dominated the world, although strong, seemed indeed quite difficult for them to create equipment that could bear divine power.

“The primary purpose of establishing the Magic Industry Research Institute was to fuse all our technical characteristics to create something suitable for use in Dawn City.

So why not combine all our techniques then?

Does the use of alchemy mean we can't use magic? Or Dwarf forging skill?”

Horn paused for a moment in his speech then continued,
“Moreover, the deed of using divine power to create equipment has existed for millions of years; it's not unique to us. Even in the central parts of the Human Empire, there are armies now that wear Holy Light armor…”

This statement surprised both the goblins and the Bloodline in the room, but Valen showed no emotion. The Forging Master pondered for a moment before shaking his head.

“Dean Horn, I have seen the armies you speak of that wear Holy Light armor, but these armies merely receive temporary blessings from Sect priests before the war, enchanting them with the power of Holy Light.

However, what we aim to research are pieces of equipment that can persist without dissipating over time, resist the invasion of Holy Light against the Bloodline, and can be used continuously.

The example you mentioned does not apply to our situation.”

Horn shook his head, and his long white beard gave the polymath an extraordinary demeanor.

“No, my intention is not to have everyone copy other Sects' equipment but to open our minds.

If other Sects can do this, can we not find a different way?”

“I once read a passage in an ancient and fragmented tome from three million five hundred thousand years ago…”

Horn's eyes revealed a hint of reminiscence; as a polymath, the number of books he had read in his lifetime was vast.

Next, the polymath recited a long, sonorous phrase, seeming to be an ancient spell left from ancient times, designed to unlock the secrets of ancient relics.

“@ucxOEdegIn 3/4OO…$?EeCyP- 1/4degthInAE…”

Everyone listened with confusion.

What in the world was that? Impressive with the foreign language…

After finishing the lengthy ancient spell, Horn paused momentarily and, seeing the stunned crowd before him, cleared his throat softly.

“This is a secret spell from that fragmented ancient book, made of a mix of Ancient Apollonian and Ancient Blue-skinned people's language, these languages…”

Lide, watching Horn who was hesitant to get to the point, slightly twitched his mouth, “Get to the essence.”

“Yes, Your Excellency,” Horn quickly returned to the main topic, “The essence of the spell suggests that the divine stored their power within various weapons and armor. Believers who wore them acquired supreme power and ultimately won a war against the followers of other divines with the powerful armor and weapons.

After their victory in this war, the believers named this kind of equipment–Divine Gifted Holy Armor.

Initially, they wanted to preserve the equipment for future use, but eventually found that the divine power within would slowly dissipate.

To retain the divine power, these Ancient people exhausted every method and, after countless time and effort, they finally devised a way to preserve the divine power.”

Oh?

Lide's interest was piqued by this revelation.

“What was this method?”

Horn's expression fell slightly, displaying some embarrassment, “The latter half of the tome has long decayed in the river of time.

So…”

Lide's face fell, so you don't know?!

“But there is still something noted,” Horn added quickly upon seeing Lide's displeased face, “Even though the most crucial steps are lost, the final record remains.

The believers used star crystals from the earth and Thorns Blood from deep forests to draw the Magic Array, completing the key step in preserving the divine power.”

Star crystals from the earth? Thorns Blood from the forests? What were those supposed to be?

Lide replied with irritation, “Speak in plain terms.”

Not daring to dally further, Horn hurriedly shared his conjecture.

“From my extensive research, the star crystals mentioned in the ancient texts seem to refer to Magic Crystal Stones, specifically the finest among them.

These Magic Crystal Stones, due to their highly concentrated energy, appear speckled with star-like luster and are celebrated as star crystals.

And Thorns Blood, a kind of magic plant, only grows where magic energy is abundant. Its sap is a blood-like red liquid but, due to environmental changes over time, such plants have become rare.”

Lide's expression eased slightly.

“So, using these two materials to draw a special Magic Array can preserve divine power… but is this reliable?”

Horn shook his head, “This is an account from ancient documents; without experimentation, no one can be sure.”

Lide nodded, not too disappointed, and knew that it was unrealistic to obtain the method to manufacture equipment resistant to the invasion of Holy Power so easily.

After a moment of contemplation, he made a decisive decision.

“Moer, Valen, Sisli, each of you draw on your smartest and most elite personnel, form a temporary research and development team, and I will have the Dawn Sect send over five Dawn Priests to work with you.

Whether it's alchemy, forging skill, or magic, you must remember the name Magic Industry Research Institute. I need you to integrate your proudest and most adept technologies to make an even greater contribution to Dawn City, rather than competing and eyeing each other with hostility.

There is no perfect technology in this world; integration leads to more perfect results.

We have already made a substantial profit in our trade with the low hill region.

Thus, the cost is not an issue for this research and development.

I will have the City Hall establish a special service team to assist you, and you will have priority access to any materials you need, no conditions.”

He was never a hesitant person, and the potential of the Dawn's Shadow project was beyond simple description.

This project, like the trades he initiated with the Fishman Tribe and the opening of the Gray Mountain markets, was capable of influencing the fate of Dawn City.

Hence, it must be given unconditional priority.

Step back, the fear of sunlight and dread of the Power of the Light Attribute Divines, these are lethal weaknesses for the Bloodline today.

Even without the Dawn's Shadow project, this fatal weakness must be resolved.

He had similar thoughts before but had put them off due to being too busy and it not being urgent. Now that the Dawn's Shadow project was initiated and Stanley had this need, it was time to put it on the agenda.

In fact, for Lide, the most desired change was to alter the Bloodline's fear of Holy Power at its roots, and that root was–the Bloodline.

Only by rectifying the Bloodline's deficiencies could this deadly weakness be eradicated.

But with his current control over Bloodline Power, he was not yet capable of making this change, so he had to seek the next best thing.

Bloodline Power was a deeper mystery, and although he had awakened the Ancestor Bloodline, making changes to the Bloodline likely required reaching a higher rank.

Lide's intuition told him that he needed to reach at least the Transcendent or even Legendary level before he could attempt to manipulate the Bloodline to make certain changes.

Now it was too soon.

“Yes, Your Highness.”

The group responded in unison, pulling Lide's train of thought back.

Turning to Horn, “Dean Horn, when I exchanged you guys back from the Centaurs, I should also have brought back the books you were carrying to Dawn City.

I need you to find the book on forging Divine Gifted Holy Armor and provide us with more accurate information.”

After speaking, he stood up, hands braced on the table, and looked fervently at everyone.

“This matter is vital to the future development of Dawn City and relates to the fate of the Holy Light Bloodline.

I need you all to use all your strength and wisdom.

When you succeed, your names will be inscribed on the Dawn Heroes' Monument for all of Dawn City to honor.

Additionally, I will personally award the most significant contributors with the Dawn Medal, and I will even write about your deeds in the history book of Dawn City that is currently being compiled.”

Those seated in this conference room lacked nothing materially, so using Gold Puck as a reward would not necessarily fully arouse their enthusiasm.

Though they had little need for material goods, none could refuse such glorious rewards.

The Dawn Heroes' Monument.

This monument, erected after the battle with the Dark Contract, stands in the busiest center of the southern part of Dawn Square.

Almost all residents pass by it every day, and to date, only about forty have earned the right to be recorded on it, all inscribed at the time of its erection.

Lide later decreed that the Heroes' Monument be divided into two parts, one for those who have made significant contributions to Dawn City, the Glory Monument.

The other side to commemorate those who fought valiantly for Dawn City, earned great merits on the battlefield, and died as heroes.

Since the Dawn Heroes' Monument was erected, despite several wars and many soldier sacrifices, none had been added to the Monument.

Because their deeds were insufficient.

Dwarfs might have heads of stone, utterly stubborn, but they also longed for glory.

Goblins' pride, arrogance, and extreme cowardice made them crave adoration.

Even the Bloodline craved respect.

Not to mention human beings; Horn's eyes turned red after hearing the reward.

Being written into the history of Dawn City, that was more tempting than anything.

Will someone, hundreds of years later, read about Horn, the great polymath who made significant contributions to the force of dawn and was awarded the highest honor, in the history of Dawn City?

The thought made Horn's beard quiver.

“The wise and grand Your Highness, goblins will offer everything for you!” the slightly taller-than-the-table Moer praised loudly.

“Kachar City Lord, the Dwarfs will use the hammers in their hands to forge the Equipment you desire; we shall give it our all!” the Forging Master Valen pledged solemnly.

“Your Highness, the Dawn Mage Tower follows your command.” The third-generation Bloodline who reached Mage Level 10 bowed respectfully.

“Great Lord of the Dawn, bright and kind Kachar City Lord, Dawn Academy is ready to fight for you,” the polymath Horn spoke solemnly.

Upon witnessing this scene, Lide felt comforted in his heart.

After several brushes with death and a long period of development, he finally had a few usable talents in hand.

His gaze became solemn, and after sweeping his eyes across the room, he shouted loudly,
“For the sake of Dawn.”

Hearing Lide's slogan, the expressions of everyone in the room grew serious, and they cried out in unison,
“For the sake of Dawn!”

Their tone was forceful, filled with determination and an unquestionable resolve.

This slogan instantly united the spirit of everyone present; they now knew what they were striving for and whom they were fighting for.

For the sake of Dawn.

Three Sunshine Hours later, in the City Hall office,
Lide looked at the exceptionally beautiful figure in front of him. Her pupils had a faint touch of gold, and she was clad in a pure white priestly robe, her aura perfect. A faint smile appeared in his eyes.

“Nilo, you've been working hard these past days.

Just send a few priests to cooperate with the Magic Industry Research Institute. I will grant them a measure of power so they too can wield the Power of Faith.”

Although he claimed to the outside world that the Power of Faith was the power of the Dawn, Lide had no pretenses in front of his Divine Priests.

Nilo's long hair was draped behind her head, and her slender neck, as elegant as a swan, tilted up ever so slightly, radiating a faint sense of holiness.

A gentle smile appeared on her face upon hearing these words.

“Your Grace, it's my fortune to carry out the truth for you.”

She paused, then continued, “Currently, we have a total of ten Dawn Priests, all of whom have been converted recently. If dispatched, we can send them all.

It won't affect our missionary work in the short term.”

Lide nodded slightly, then seemed to recall something curiously.

“How is the Dawn Sect currently spreading its faith?”

As he asked this question, Lide found it somewhat amusing. He, as the ultimate boss of the Dawn Sect, did not even know how his own sect was spreading its faith?

Fortunately, he only saw the sect as a means to promote the development of Dawn City and had no real desire to be a charlatan; otherwise, he would have found it quite embarrassing.

Nilo wore a slight smile, her faith in Lide having merged with her soul, and the feedback Lide had given her had almost fused their souls, making them the closest of partners. Nothing Lide did could affect his standing in her heart.

“Your Grace, the Dawn Sect currently consists of two departments–Temple Knights and Priests.

Temple Knights are the Dawn Sect's armed force, dedicated to defending your Glory, a concept proposed by Nicole.

We have recruited the most devout and talented believers to become Temple Knights, presently numbering two hundred.”

“There are two types of Priests: Missionary Priests and Church Priests.

The Missionary Priests have not converted to Dawn Priests, but are composed of devout believers. Their full-time job is to spread the faith.

Under Nicole's arrangement, they carry out organized and disciplined proselytizing among the residents.

Church Priests, on the other hand, are the believers who have truly converted to Dawn Priests.

Currently, there are only ten.

They use the power you bestowed upon them in the churches to heal the congregation or comfort the believers, displaying Your Majesty, and will cooperate with the Missionary Priests in proselytizing when needed.”

Temple Knights, Priests; these were two very simple divisions.

“Is there a promotion mechanism within the Sect?” Lide asked a critical question, nodding slightly. Every force should have a system for upward development and not stagnate.

“Yes, Temple Knights initially start as such, and then they advance to Intermediate Temple Knights, Advanced Temple Knights, Celestial Temple Knights–Dawn Knights–Heroic Dawn Knights.

Priests advance from Intermediate Priest–Advanced Priest–Bishop–Red-clothed Archbishop–Dawn Archbishop.”

Lide looked interestedly at Nilo, “Did Nicole design this?”

While the system was simple and not difficult to conceive, the fact that it was established while the Dawn Sect was still at a basic stage, clearly matching Nicole's style.

“Yes, Your Grace, this is a system designed by Nicole, based on the hierarchy of other sects,” Nilo said with a light smile.

“Although we don't need it at the moment, as you grow stronger in the future, the Dawn Sect will undoubtedly become more powerful. It's better to be prepared.”

Lide nodded slightly, “Very good, the believers are the future of the Dawn Sect. The more complete the system, the more it will attract new believers.”

After finishing his thoughts, he seemed to remember something, looking at Nilo with interest. He could sense through the Spirit Imprint that there was something his Divine Priest wanted to say.

“Is there anything else to report?”

Nilo nodded, her eyes tinged with a faint gold, showing a gleam of excitement.

“Your Grace, look…”

Saying that, she took out a strange object from her pouch.
