After he returned to his Cross Crest, Charles Patricius: Our Transient Glory, the first thing done, again was bath and sleep for five hours. Truth to be told, Lucien loved sleeping most. It was one of his favorite activities and even hobby.

After a good sleep, he went to inspect those bodies if they were carrying something valuable. He started with those mercenaries but they didn't have anything useful at all. Compared to them, agents of Vasuki at least had their katanas which could be used to combat ghouls. Lucien kept those katanas, as he wanted to use them to upgrade his Blood-Essence Sacred Refining Furnace because those swords seemed made from some special metal or maybe some unique technique. They looked like any other katanas but they could injure and kill ghouls. Common knowledge said that normal weapons can't even injure ghouls.

To Lucien swords of Washuu Clan were always a bit mysterious, but originally they didn't originate from Washuu Clan. They were products of Noble House of the East, Shi Xue Clan. They had a special forging method to create swords that could kill even Sacred Devourer Ghouls. Apparently, Washuu Clan either found some part of this method or had the complete version of it.

Lastly, Lucien searched those five middle-aged men, but besides some jewelry like signet rings or some necklaces, they also didn't carry anything. Seeing this Lucien almost went mad, because he didn't obtain some loot.

"Why the hell can't I have some loot from them?! Besides swords, they weren't carrying nothing useful."

Screamed Lucien to the air as he kicked one of the corpses. After several minutes he calmed down and started some tasks. First one was to let Blood-Essence Sacred Refining Furnace absorb those swords and some other things. This process took almost one hour, and Blood-Essence Sacred Refining Furnace absorbed ten katanas from all agents of Vasuki. Lucien kept katanas of Washuu Clan members form himself as they were in better quality.

Then he looked at the record of the Blood-Essence Sacred Refining Furnace to see the changes.

When it came to options as sharpness, toughness or attack speed it would be far superior to most of the quinques, maybe only best would be able to rival them and overcome these swords.

Then Lucien started refining bodies of sixty-five ghouls. He was eager to rise his RC Level by a great amount again. He knew that he was probably behind when compared with Sacred Devourer Ghoul on the Blood Island as they were having a probably endless supply of blood essences refined from demons. Now that Magitek Infantry Soldiers were invented, the harvest of blood essences was getting bigger and bigger by day.

Fortunately, Lucien still had some blood essences refined from demons and coupled with these bodies of ghouls, he believed he would be able to rise his RC Level at to the Kakuja V2 at best. He started refining those bodies, always by five to create one blood essence. He looked at the bloody red beads, that looked like tasty candies to him.

When he was finished with the entire process of refining he started to eat them like candies. Of course, he again did he verified method, eating one blood essence refined from ghouls together with one blood essence refined from demons. By doing this he won't damage or destabilize his foundation.

He felt and even saw like were his Red Children Cells eager to reproduce and how they were multiplying at a terrifying speed. Soon he was reaching the end of the journey as he was out of blood essences and process of multiplying of Red Children Cells was already slowing down until it stopped completely.

When the process was done, he found out that he reached Kakuja V2. This was a very beautiful achievement. But he felt that he needed to consume more blood essences refined from demons to stabilize his foundation more.

Lucien immediately entered the Kakuja V2, it looked the same as before but it was much stronger. Lucien now felt that he could contest with Eto, in her Owl Form, when it came to the pure physical strength. This was a rather scary thought as Eto in her Owl Form had extremely terrifying physical strength. Lucien was amazed this but not very surprised as he was body refiner. Body refiners were very dangerous existences as their bodies at later stages of cultivation were harder to deal with than with most artifacts.

Lucien inspected changes on his record and only notable things were two. The increase of his RC Level to the 41,927 and also new line or old line returned there. Kakuja V2: Entire body armor without a mask, kagune katana. Seeing this Lucien was very satisfied and opened one bottle of good blood wine to celebrate this event.

When he thought about this loot he must admit it wasn't so bad. He didn't found something precious but those bodies were enough to raise his cultivation to the Kakuja V2 and he even managed to raise the growth of the Blood-Essence Sacred Refining Furnace so the rewards were rather good.

After drinking the whole bottle he wore his battle attire and returned to the Kunlun Mountains to continue the journey to the Ancestral Site of the Shi Xue Clan. Weather was good out there and he could proceed some distance these days. He knew that his target location was still far away but he wasn't in much hurry. He would let Washuu Clan do the dirty work of excavation and he would just reap the rewards.
