Hey Let's Go Destroy Another World Chapter 1

Finished the first chapter. Sorry it took so long, there were a lot of sentences that took me a while to figure out.

That was on a slightly languid, afternoon of a certain day.

In the seat by the window of my favorite coffee shop, where I always waste time.

Not knowing the brand, with a reasonably priced coffee place on the table, Yomiya Ruito sat deeply in the chair without holding back, and while sighing, looked at the person sitting in the seat across the table from him.

She had slightly wavy long black hair, and somewhat mischievous, elegant black eyes.

As if to embrace herself she crossed her arms. Her arms were placed on top of her elbows on the table, and as if to announce her gender, her two bulges emphasize their presence even more by being placed in her arms.

Although her wearing a vertical striped sweater just spurred on their emphasis, without getting into a mood to enjoy that, Ruito picked up the coffee cup left on the table took a sip, and placed it back on the table.

While the remains of its aroma bitterness stayed in the inside of his mouth, even though he took a sip, he didn’t get to enjoy the feeling of it falling into his stomach, and the woman in front of Ruito raised her voice.

“So, what’s your answer?”

In some respects, her voice seemed to contain laughter in it.

Ruito couldn’t understand what she found so enjoyable, but he was able to understand that the woman in front of him seemed to be having fun.

Ruito didn’t feel like enjoying the situation at which the woman seemed to be enjoying, however.

“I’d like to have a little time.”

While saying that and harboring a premonition that he won’t be given much time, Ruito remembered the events leading up to this situation, starting from when he entered the coffee shop.

Ruito and the woman were sitting facing each other at the coffee shop, but it’s not like they were acquainted.

The college his surroundings advised him to go to and he ended up taking the exams for wasn’t very interesting to Ruito.

Even so, there were a number of problems with completely skipping it, such as standing out in his surroundings, and problems with the financial support from his parents, so there a number of things that made him draw back from choosing to.

It couldn’t be helped, so he decided to receive enough lectures to maintain his grades, decisively reject all the circles he was invited to, and use his vacant time to hang out. Today too, Ruito irresponsibly went to some lectures, skipped the ones that didn’t seem necessary, went to the coffee shop using the time he made, and was thinking of wasting time by reading.

Right about then, the laughing woman suddenly sat across from him.

Of course, Ruito didn’t have any experience of having an unknown woman suddenly sit across from him, but the situation seemed to proceed with considering his feelings.

“It’s fine if you take your time, but you’re better off thinking that won’t be stopped forever.”

The woman pointed to Ruito.

To be precise, she pointed right beside Ruito’s head.

Speaking of what was there, without turning his head, Ruito moved only his gaze and looked to his left.

There, countless glass fragments were glittering and sparkling, reflecting the languid, afternoon sun rays, and a truck’s bumper that was about to thrust into Ruito.

Everything on the left side of Ruito, as if it had art drawn on a piece of paper, had stopped.

“Until I run away from here, can I have you leave this like this?”

Despite knowing it’d be futile, Ruito still tried asking.

He acted with light hopes that she might nod, but the woman curtly shook her head to the side, narrowed her eyes a bit, and looked at Ruito.

“Because, when you try to run away, time will advance.”

When she easily insisted that she’d maintain this situation, Ruito shrugged his shoulders, and informed her of his will to give up.

Perhaps, it might be possible to evade the moment this situation starts moving again, or so Ruito thought.

Nevertheless, when he looked at the woman in front of him, it seemed that him not being able to evade was the reality, and Ruito didn’t have the courage to bet on a bad bet in a situation where his life depended on it.

Helplessly, in order to calm down Ruito picked up his coffee cup, noticed that it was empty, and released a sigh.

Ruito didn’t understand how or under what logic the situation was stopped, but not only the truck that broke through the coffee shop’s window, but also the customers in the surroundings and the host, and most likely the people outside the shop seemed to be stopped too.

In this situation, he sighed because it didn’t seem like he could get any more coffee, and possibly because the woman in front of him understood his feelings, took the coffee cup Ruito gave up on and began lightly tracing its rim with her index finger.

However, with just that action, in the coffee cup that should’ve been empty, a perfect amount of a dark brown liquid appeared, surprised, the woman said ‘By all means’, and stuck out her hand to a surprised Ruito.

“You don’t have to worry about drinking it. There’s no poison in it.”

“Between being killed by poison now, or being killed by a truck after, I wonder which one is easier?”

“Well, I don’t know. After all, I’ve never died.”

To the woman who said that, Ruito took a sip of the newly refilled coffee, and after drinking it up let out a sigh of resignation.

“I apologize, but can I hear your story once again from the beginning? There was some extraordinary content, so I still haven’t been able to comprehend that it’s reality.”

“That’s fine, I’ll do that much.”

At Ruito’s request, the woman smiled, untangled her arms that were on the table, and touched her chest.

“First of all, I’m an existence that you humans call god.”

“Not the devil?”

Ruito commented that while thinking about the situation he was placed in.

Although he was grateful that she stopped the truck that had thrust into the shop, using that as a shield to prevent him was running away was, to Ruito, no matter how he thought about it, slanted a little too much towards evil to be an act performed by a god.

However, the woman who called herself a god, with an expression that said his way of speaking was really upsetting, shook her head.

“Without a mistake, I’m a god. Although, to you people, the difference between a god and a devil is only like differentiating harmful insects and useful insects though.”

As a matter of fact, the difference between harmful insects and useful insects hasn’t been firmly specified.

It’s just that the human-centered egoistic definition that those which are profitable to humans are useful insects, and those that harm humans are harmful insects.

“Depending on the time, case, and sometimes the region, you guys call us gods or devils and worship us. Thus, there’s no harm in calling myself god, is there?”

Either way it didn’t matter, so Ruito didn’t feel like objecting to the woman’s insistence on which one to call herself.

In actuality, whether this woman was a god or a devil didn’t have much to do with Ruito at all.

Whichever way, there was no changing that this woman had power over his life and death, and for now Ruito didn’t think to breakthrough the situation.

“Arguing about that seems like it’d be unproductive, so please continue the conversation with the assumption that you’re a god.”

“That argument’s stuck in my mind, but okay. Anyways, a god, I, had something I wanted to ask you to do, so I appeared in front of you.”

It’s a common setting for entertainment novels, thought Ruito as he tasted his coffee.

It’s not like Ruito had never looked through novels like those on the internet or in a bookstore.

Rather, he thought they were pretty close to the ideal things to read when killing time.

After all, there wasn’t really much need to use your head while reading them.

These entertainment books which can be read smoothly without much stress, yet still kill a lot of time, when combined with their cheapness are in a sense, the best companion for reading.

Within those entertainment novels is something called the other world genre, and one of their common introductions were exactly like Ruito’s situation.

If the current situation was imitating those entertainment novels, then just as she said, the woman in front of him came to ask Ruito for a favor.

“Before that, there’s one thing I want to check.”

“What is it?”

Before listening to her favor, Ruito pointed to the truck floating right to the side of his head with his eyes, and asked the woman:

“By chance, is this your doing? Or, it’s not like this the result of your mistake, is it?”

Ruito thought that in the aforementioned entertainment novels, although it was basically decided that the protagonist met a god before they were sent to the other world, the cause of their meeting was generally because the protagonist dies because of the god’s mistake, or the god purposely killed them.

Thus, he thought to check whether or not he was involved in something like that, but the woman easily shook her head and denied it.

“No, I’m not involved with this situation at all. I was just searching for someone suitable to ask my favor from, and it happened to be you, but when I went to meet you, you were about to be hit by a car, so I saved you like this.”

“In other words, the current situation is just the result of my bad luck?”

“I wouldn’t go that far, but I guess your star was bad or something?”

‘It was lucky for me though’, said the laughing woman who called herself a god, and Ruito again released a deep sigh.

It’s usual for someone’s misfortune to become someone else’s fortune, but Ruito never dreamed that he’d become the person concerned.

However, if the truck heading for him wasn’t due to someone else’s actions, and was purely caused by his bad luck, then he couldn’t just lash out at someone for it.

Thinking that he know other hands but to give up, Ruito took the contents of the coffee cup in his hand, and drained it.

“Do you need any more?”

Ruito silently presented his cup to the woman who stuck up her index finger and took confirmation.

When the woman traced the rim of the cup, once again the cup was filled with coffee.

“From a health standpoint, aren’t you drinking too much?”

“Are you talking about my caffeine intake? There’s not much point in worrying about that anymore. After all……”

While saying that, Ruito glanced at the truck’s bumper near his head, and spoke casually.

“If I mess up here, I’ll die.”

“Even if you don’t mess up, you’re planning on dying here though?”

Ruito made a weary expression to the woman who spoke of such dangerous things with a smile.

“In that case, I really shouldn’t mind it anymore. Rather, since it seems like I won’t be able to drink coffee from now on, as a farewell to this world, I don’t have a choice but to everything possible to have my fill of this.”

“Don’t say something that callous, if you listen to my favor then I’ll make it so you can at least drink coffee.”

Ruito’s thinking went in circles.

It seemed that dying here would probably mean that he’d have to take on god’s request, and be sent somewhere.

Otherwise, if he really was going to die here, then he wouldn’t be able to drink coffee.

“So, what kind of request does a god like you want to ask of an average citizen like me?”

‘If the situation is just like the situation in a novel, then’, Ruito thought.

In those cases, then the wish is often, ‘I want you to save the world’, or something large in scale and vague.

Ruito remembered that the method to save the world would require him to adopt new blood and ways of thinking. Following conventions he’d have to, defeat the Demon King who was endangering the world, get his hands hands on some rare item, or even create the item.

Although that wasn’t all, thinking that it’d be something similar to those, Ruito opened his mouth, speaking in a foolish tone of voice before the woman could speak.

“Your request isn’t ‘save the world’, or something like that right?”

“Of course not, I didn’t go out of my way and appear in front of people just to screw around with you and ask you that.”

To Ruito’s joke-filled words, the woman replied like that with a serious face.

That was a slightly unexpected response, and to Ruito who shut his mouth, the woman leaned over the table, fixedly stared at Ruito’s face, and told him of her favor.

“Hey you, come to my world for a bit, I want you to destroy it.”

“As I thought, aren’t you a devil?”

The woman swelled her cheeks as if she were greatly hurt by Ruito, who immediately retorted to her words.
