He only married me to show her that he already moved on Chapter 73 - seventy-three: And they meet again

Gabriel's POV:

The moment I arrived to the hotel I am currently checking in, I received a call from one of my new hired men to search for my wife in all the corners of Denver, Colorado. I answered his call and a huge smile crept on my lips.

I was right. She was the woman I saw from the second floor of Am-Phil building last week. I can't even form a single word because of the so much excitement that filled inside me. And there were so many things and plans that danced excitedly in my mind when I heard the positive news. Finally, after three years of searching and waiting, I will be able to see her again.

But the time I ended the call and checked the pictures he sent to my inbox, my both knees buckled and I suddenly sat myself down on the bed. I felt the mixed feelings of jealousy, regrets for everything I did before and anger to myself right at that moment.

It's her pictures.. three of them were taken while she's walking and laughing together with a man beside her. They looked so happy in the pictures. And the rest were taken while they were kissing in the middle of the streets.

A pained and bitter laugh escaped from my throat as I brushed my hair up. I screamed on top of my lungs as the evidence of her happiness with someone else almost break my heart. I called my man again with rage surging through my veins.

-'She can't be with another man. I'll do everything in my power to get her back! Even if I need to pull some strings and play dirty, I won't hesitate to do it just to make her mine, again!"

"Mr. Wilsons-----"

"Did you get her address, and did you get any information about her? Her job, the name of this f.u.c.k.i.n.g man? How dare of him kissed what's mine?" I asked him through gritted teeth and clenched jaws.

"I'm sorry, Sir. But I think they saw me because they ran after they kissed each oth-------"

"What the f.u.c.k! Are you a f.u.c.k.i.n.g idiot? It's just a simple job and you can make it in a right way? You showed yourself?"

"No, Sir. I'm sorry. I did my------"

"I don't f.u.c.k.i.n.g care what you did! You're fired!" I ended the call and didn't wait for him to respond.

"F.u.c.k! I hired a f.u.c.k.i.n.g idiot!" I throw my phone on top of the bed and massaged my throbbing temples. If there's none of them can give me a positive answer, I'll do it myself.

It's already eleven pm. but I'm still driving at the busy and non-sleeping city of Denver. I can't feel any exhaustion right even in this late hour, knowing she can be in any street or any corner of this City. I can't give up not on this time, because I've been waiting for this moment for the past three years of my life.

"Sir, I think it's getting late. Maybe we should go back to the hotel and continue our searching tomorrow. We can search again all the avenues. You still don't have any rest since this morning, Sir."

I glanced at Jhon in the rearview mirror. He's currently sitting on the back seat.

"No. I can't stop right now Jhon. What if she's just in one of the streets walking, and I didn't notice earlier?"

"But Sir, it's already eleven-thirty in the evening. I don't think Ms. Madi is still up at this late of an hour. As I remember, she hates morning but getting late in bed was also not her habit. Well, maybe if she changed that after these past three years, but old habits are hard to die."

I chuckled as I shake my head while driving. Almost all of them including our maids knows what's her habits and mannerisms. While me her 'husband', the only thing I know about her is my feelings for her, and lately her favorite perfume. I don't even know her favorite flower or what color she like the most.

But after driving for several minutes and some streets, I already followed Jhon's suggestion. We pulled back to the hotel, but I set an alarm to get up early at six am tomorrow.

Madi's POV:

Martin and I continued our daily routines in the coffee shop. Both have different tasks. He's in charge of making different types of coffee while I am the one who bakes the cakes and pastries. Well, thanks to my old-but-lovable mother for this idea. Although we have six personnel in the shop, but we want it to be personally made by our golden hands.

"Babe, is it okay if I just bring my car to the auto repair shop? I'll be back in an hour." Martin said while I am checking the displays of the cake from the glass cabinet.

"Huh? Why....what happened to your car?" I asked not bothering to look at him.

"There's a problem with the air condition, it's not working even if I put it on the highest level."

"Ahh...." I said nodding. "Well, I think you don't really need to bring it to the shop." I smirked but I covered my face.

"And why?" I heard him asked.

"Because I already know what you need and its the best solution to solve your problem to that car of yours."

"Wow, really? Don't tell me you're also into fixing car's air condition?" he asked with amus.e.m.e.nt evident in his voice.

"Nope." I said popping the 'p'. "Tsk.tsk.tsk. You only need one lighter."

"Lighter? As in lighter... the thing which typically used to light cigarettes?"

"Uhuh! If you used lighter to light your car, it will create fire!"

"Uhuh..and?"

"And if it started to create fire.. your car will explode... boom! Problem solve! No air condition problem, no car engine problem, no car problem... and you don't have any problem at all!"

"Nice! Nice problem solution! Tsk.Tsk.Tsk." He said laughing while scratching the back of his head. "Thanks for the wonderful advice! You're the best woman I have ever met!"

"Oh.. no problem! It's a small thing! What are friends are for, right?" And I started to laugh at his reaction.

"Such a silly woman!" he shook his head. "I have to go, I'll be back in an hour. Bye." he kissed the top of my head.

"Bye..."

When I saw him exited the shop, I returned to what I was doing earlier. I heard the sounds of the chimes indicating that there were new customer came in the shop, but because it's not even a minute after Martin's left, so I thought it's still him and he just forget something.

I heard his footsteps stopped in front of the glass cabinet, but because I am too busy in counting the display inside of it, I just asked him if he really forget something without bothering to look in his face.

"Forget something, babe? What is it this time?" I asked smirking and emphasizing the word 'babe' loudly.

"Babe! Nice endearment!"

I dropped the pen on the floor when I heard that voice. I gulped as my heart started to beat faster inside my chest. It's almost deafening and I'm not sure if it's just a hearing hallucinations or I really heard it in front of me.

I take a deep breath before wearing my smile despite the loud pounding inside my chest. I stand up to greet the customer.

"Good morning. What's your order-------"

-'Gabriel Wilsons.'-

My voice stopped in mid-air when I confirmed the whispers of those butterflies inside my stomach. I swallowed the sudden feeling of de Ja Vu. Because it's the same feeling I felt when I realized that I love this man three years ago.

I let out the heavy breath which stacked in my throat and asked him in a professional manner. 'Sales lady-customer' greetings. Like the way it used to be from the very beginning.

"Good morning. May I know what's your order, Mr. Wilsons?" I asked him in my most sweetest smile. The smile I always give to our every customer every day.

"Madi.." but he just stared at me blankly.

And I admit, I felt again this creepy feeling when I looked on his face. He's still handsome and good-looking as ever... no.. he looked matured, manly and more handsome today than before.. even after three years. Maturity suits him well. The Greek God himself, the one and only Gabriel Wilsons. The same man who captured my heart and can make my system melt just by his stare.

"Hi, can I take your order, Sir?" I asked him again in a professional tone.

And suddenly his blank face turned into hard and serious expression, not to mention cold... the old himself.

"How are you, Madi?" he asked in a cold tone that almost bring shivers down on my spine. His voice.

"It's Ms. Davis to you, Sir." I smiled.

But he smirked. "Really, Ms. Davis?"

He looked at me intently, but I didn't back down. I've done this before so it's impossible not to do it again.

"Okay. Just give your black usual coffee. The one you always give me in the office."

"Oh.. I'm sorry, Sir. But it's been three years, I already forgot how to make that coffee. But if you want, we have lots of selection in the menu. Here... you can choose whatever suits your taste." I said giving him the menu.

I didn't miss how he clenched and unclenched again his jaws.

-I'm sorry my poor heart. But it's for the best. I don't want to get involved again with him. Maybe he's now married and a father of two or three children.'-

"Okay. Just give me your best seller!" he said without taking away his eyes on me. He didn't even glance at the menu.

"Okay, Sir. You may find your table, and we will deliver your coffee in a minute. Any add ons Sir? Cake.. sandwich? We have avocado toast with poached eggs, it's our best seller-----"

"Just give me whatever you think is the best for my coffee, 'Ms. Davis'." he cut me off and emphasized my last name.

"Okay Sir, in a minute----" he didn't let me finish. He turned his back on me.

-'Huh! F.u.c.k.i.n.g rude! So you still haven't changed! Rude and arrogant!'-

I silently muttered and glared on his back.

I prepared his coffee with the best seller avocado toast in grain bread with poached egg on top. I don't know how many times I took a long inhale and exhale just to calm my nerves. The fast pounding of my heart earlier were now placed with a slight irritation.

The customers are now starting to enter the shop, and our three-morning employees were all busy attending their own customers, so I don't have any choice but to give the rude Greek God his order.

I am about to carry the food tray when I suddenly heard the loud and jolly voice of my partner, Martin... from the shop's entrance.

"Babe! I'm back!"

And suddenly all eyes were turned to him, including the glaring eyes of Gabriel. But of course, except for our three employees who knows how bubbly Martin is.

"I told you, babe. I'm gonna back with an hour, but I made it less than thirty minutes. What can you say about that?"

He asked me loudly with a huge grin on his face as he walked closer to where I stand. He even kissed me on my temple when he finally reached in front of me.

"Who's coffee is this, babe? Let me help you."

And he takes the tray from my hand. I smiled and pointed the tiger looking Gabriel who's watching our interaction intently.

"Okay, relax yourself my queen.. and your king will now take in charge." he winked at me and I chuckled together with the customers who saw his act.

"Thanks, babe." I said grinning and playfully pinched the bridge of his nose.

I turned my back after that and I let him serve Gabriel's order. And since I am already inside, I missed the hard and furious glare of my ex-husband.
