He only married me to show her that he already moved on Chapter 63 - sixty-three: The truth is now in front of her

I sighed for I guess a hundred times since I parked my car in the parking lot of an OBGyne clinic. Why am I here... because George called me earlier, she wants me to sign some doc.u.ments in the clinic because she put me as her business employer.

But the moment I closed my car door, I felt my heart dropped on the floor because of the scene not so far from where I am standing.

Gabriel exited from his car. He opened the door on the passenger side and help to stepped out the bitch herself.. Stacey.

-'They we're also having a monthly checkup? And Gabriel is with her?'- asked the left side of my heart.

-'Well, what would you expect? He's the father.'- and the left answered back.

I gulped the pain which I noticed.. serves now as my everyday vitamins. I chuckled and shook my head.

He put his hand on her lower back and they were laughing like they were a real couple. Well, they are if I'm not married to him.

"Wow, life! I love my life!"

I muttered slowly and laughed again.

"Come on, Madi! Don't you ever cry again! Are you not used to it? Come on!"

I said while tapping both of my cheeks and trying myself not to cry.

"If you allow your feelings and the pain to let you down again this moment, you can never call yourself as a strong person! Pretending to be happy when you're in pain is an example of how strong you are as a person! Get up, Madi. Just this once! Go!"

I cheered myself while watching the happy couple walking towards the building's entrance.

"Just pretend you didn't see them, or pretend it's not them! Come on, you can do that!"

I sighed and started to walk my way towards the building.

"Remember who you are! You're Madi! The ever beautiful, confident and STRONG Madi!"

That was my last self advice before I turned my attention on the path where I am walking. I looked straight and wait for them to disappear in my sight before I decided to enter the building.

But to my not-so-lucky-f.u.c.k.i.n.g-day, they stopped right in front of the clinic door where George currently at. And my hand automatically covered my mouth to suppress the gasped and loud sob when I saw them kissing.

-'Oh f.u.c.k! So they we're together?'-

I didn't finish the scene as I run towards the direction of the nearest restroom. The moment I entered the door, the loud sobs were raising to escaped from my throat. I am the only person inside so I let myself pity out of my system.

I looked at myself in the mirror with tears blurring my vision.. and I silently ask myself.

-'When are you going to learn, Madi? When are you going to let the pain eat you every time you're about to see the same scene in front of you?-'

I looked down and closed my eyes.

-'When are you going to let go? When are you going stop that stupidity in you? You've been in so much pain since you learned to love him. When are you going to let him silently hurt you?'-

"Cheating or one-sided love?"

I gasped when someone spoke behind me. I looked at the person in the mirror and I saw the woman who asked me. She's in her late fifties. I wiped my tears with the tissue from my bag and looked at her directly.

"Cheating or one-sided love?" she asked me again.

I smiled at her bitterly as another river of tears flows from my eyes.

"Both."

I answered while closing my eyes and gripping the edge of the counter. I felt a hand on my shoulder and when I looked in the mirror, I saw her smiling sincerely at me but with a hint of sadness.

"If it's both, meaning it is hurting you deeply. It cuts you whole, your heart and your soul, right?"

I nodded and wiped my tears.

"Then why don't you let go? Why don't you give up?"

I chuckled bitterly at her questions. "Actually Ma'am, that's the same questions I was asking myself earlier. And the stupid me couldn't find the answer."

"Honey.. look at me." she smiled and cupped my cheeks and let me look at her directly. "Sometimes, we need to cry, be sad, break down and torn apart.. so that we can learn how to pick ourselves and put it back together. Sometimes, things have to go wrong before they can go right."

She let go of my face and hold both my hands.

"What's your name, honey?"

"Madi."

"Madi, sometimes we need to know how to feel weak, in order to know how to be strong. You have to be broken, so when the pain comes to an end, and you become whole again.. you will realize you've never been shattered."

My tears finally came to stop.

"But always remember this, Madi. Being in pain doesn't mean, you have to let those people or person hurt you repeatedly. Once is enough, twice.. well let's consider. But if it's more than that, let go of it, honey. In a relationship, you need both to grow together and not grow alone. That is what we called partnership."

She massaged both of my knuckles and smiled at me.

"If you spend too long holding on to him, which you know doesn't treat you the way you deserve, you'll miss finding the one who will treat you as his priority. Don't waste your time and your tears for whoever is that bastard man! He doesn't have balls to treat you right, then leave him! Dump that man who's the balls were on his feet!"

I can't help not to laugh at her last sentence.

"See? You're beautiful, Madi. Don't waste your love for someone who can't see your worth! Yes, leaving him will cause you hurt, pain and a wound from it. But when the pain subsides, the wound will heal. It will leave you a scar but it will fade and disappear over time. Don't embrace the pain, embrace the life and happiness you will have after it."

She smiled and winked at me. I was about to speak when I heard the ring of my phone.

"Excuse me, Ma'am. I'll just have to answer this."

"Oh, sure. By the way, I am Erica. I hope someday, when we see each other again, you're smiling or laughing. And you already find the perfect one for you. I wish you happiness, Madi." she hugged me before she exited the restroom.

I sighed and looked myself in the mirror. I don't know but all her words were like a touch of an angel to me. I smiled as I answered my phone.

"Hello, George?"

"Hey girl, where are you? My doctor and I have been waiting for you, thirty minutes ago. I thought you said you're already in the parking lot?"

"Oh yeah, I'm sorry. I just met someone on my way there."

"Someone?"

"Yup. Don't worry, I'm on my way now."

"Okay. Bye."

I sighed after ending the phone. I retouched the smudged make up on my face, before I decided to go to the clinic where George, my husband and the bitch were in.

I take a deep breath when I am exactly in front of the clinic. -'I can do this'- I muttered to myself.

Wearing my practised smile, I pushed the door and the first person came to my view is the face of my husband seated beside Stacey, and in front of them is George while on her phone. They turned to look at me and from their blank face, it quickly changed with different expression when they recognized me.

George is smiling widely, Stacey the bitch is glaring at me while Gabriel couldn't paint the shock written on his face when he recognized me. I admit, seeing him beside her and inside this clinic was a big slap to my face. It's like a million knives stabbing inside my heart, but I just gulped the pain and pretend it was nothing.

"Love.." Gabriel muttered slowly and quickly stand up, but George is more fast than him.

"Madi! Thank God, you came!" George squealed and hugged me tight.

"Of course! I told you, I'm coming." I hugged her back. I can clearly see Gabriel in the corner of my eyes watching our interaction, but I pretend I didn't notice him since I entered the clinic.

"Hey, who's that someone that you said you met on your way here?"

I tried to laugh and thanks to my acting skills, I did.

"It's just someone." I'm wondering, if George doesn't recognized Gabriel or she's just also pretending.

"Just someone.. nothing special?"

I smiled and about to open my mouth when I felt a hand on my arm.

"Madi."

I know who's hand it is. And then I acted like I was surprised to see him in the same place.

"Gabriel?"

"Love.."

"What are you------" I paused and intentionally gasped when I saw Stacey.

She's wearing again her demonic smirk. She stand and put her hand on Gabriel's arm. My eyes followed on her hand movement before I turned back my eyes to Gabriel.

"Oh.. so, you're with her." it's not a question, it's a statement.

"Love, I'll explain this----"

"You have nothing to explain, 'love'. Don't worry, I am an open-minded person, and I have the heart for the needy." I said smiling and emphasized the word 'love' while patting his cheek. I'm done with his explaining.

"Let's talk about this, please?" he tried to take my hand but I simply put it on my head and flipped my hair back to my shoulder.

I just smiled at him. "Love, I understand, promise."

Yeah, I now understand what sacrifices means, and where and when it should have ended.

"Ms. George Valentine, is your employer still coming?" we were all turned to the woman in white who asked George.

"Oh yeah. She's here Doc."

George answered and take my arm. She introduced me to her doctor as her friend and employer. But in my back, I didn't missed the question of the bitch...

"Employer?"

I smirked and focussed my attention to the doctor in front of me.

"Ohh.. so you're the famous Madielyn Davis? You're the woman behind the successful Maiden Restaurant in town?"

My jaws dropped with the Doctor's introduction, and my eyes slowly glanced at the smiling George who's fingers is in a peace sign. ✌ I didn't expect this.

"I'm so glad to finally meet you, Ma'am."

"Hehehe." I smiled at her and she offered her hand for a handshake.

"I am a fan of your Italian Bolognese pasta."

"Thank you." I simply answered.

"By the way, I'm Tricia Marquez and I am the doctor who's attending your friend and your employee. Madielyn Davis, right-------"

"Wilsons!"

"Huh?" she scrunched her eyebrows and we both turned to now standing Gabriel. He walked closer to us and put his hand on my lower back.

"I said Wilsons. She's married to me so she's now Madielyn Wilsons, and no longer Davis."

My mouth hanged open with his words. But the frown on the Doctor's face just got deeper.

"Wilsons? Sir, I thought you're with Miss------"

"No! She's not my wife. She's just a friend of mine."

"Ahh.. okay." the doctor said nodding but I can see the evidence of doubt on her face.

I just shook my head and remained quiet. But deep inside, the irritation started to grow. We seated in our own chairs, but Gabriel choose to sit beside me, despite of the bitch protests.
