Harry Potter and the Prince of Slytherin 22 Troll

Both of them after eating some tea and snacks went outside. It was already late so Draco was walking Hermione back towards her common room.

"I am sorry for making you miss out on the Halloween feast." Hermione said, she felt bad that Draco had missed the feast because of her.

"Don't worry about it." Draco said, "In fact, I hate Halloween."

"Why?"

"Its the smell of Pumpkins, I am sure the whole hall is filled with it." Draco said. He didn't like the smell of Pumpkins, in fact, he hated the taste too. Draco wasn't much picky about his food but the pumpkin was the one thing he hated the most.

"Hahaha... you are like a kid." Hermione started laughing.

As they were walking by, they suddenly heard a loud-pitch scream.

"What was that?" Hermione looks towards the source of the voice.

'Probably a troll, but why the hell is it here. Shit! since no one was inside the bathroom the troll might have started walking to other places in search for food and came here.' Draco thought to himself.

There was another scream, Draco was sure that it was a girl.

"Hey, let's go check." Hermione said. "Looks like someone is in trouble."

"Bam!!" The heard a loud crashing noise.

"No, let's not do that." Draco didn't want to put Hermione in danger, "I am sure whatever it is the teacher would handle it."

Hermione wanted to go help, but soon they heard a growl that didn't sound human and from the corner, two people came running.

One was Theodore and the other was a girl, he had not seen before.

"Draco!!" Theodore screamed as he saw him and came running towards him. "Troll incoming!!"

"Shit! Hermione, you go back." Draco said looking at her, taking out his wand. "Can we outrun it?"

"No, I just used a Slippery Jinx. It will catch up pretty soon."

Theodore reached Draco breathing heavily. He looked towards the girl and said, "Cho.. you go with Hermione, we will take care of it."

"No, I am not going, leaving you guys here." Hermione said looking at the girl, "You should leave, maybe call the teacher."

"No." The girl said shaking but she looked ready to fight.

"Girls it's not the time to argue, you know?" Draco said, "Go back, I am a genius and the other well...he is still above average so we can take care of it."

"I hate you" Theodore said sweating, "But he is right, at least back off so you can try some spells."

Theodore knew that stubborn girls like Hermione would not leave in a situation like these, so the best he could do was get them to back off a little.

The girl looked at each other and nodded. Both of them went a bit far away, they knew if they stay here they would just be a bother but maybe they could help from the back.

*Thump* *Thump* The walking noise of the troll came closer and closer.

"So cho huh?" Draco looked at Theodore.

"It's not like that." Theodore said, "I wasn't the one to spend a whole evening with the lady, alone."

"Che... How did you get yourself in trouble."

"I don't know." Theodore said, "But I can assure you, even if we survive this Pansy and Daphne will likely kill you."

The troll came out of the corner breaking the corner of the wall with its huge bat.

A troll is a magical creature of prodigious strength and immense stupidity. In fact, they are so stupid that they actually had a wizarding exam failing grade named after them. Trolls possess rudimentary magic. Even though they are said to be extremely stupid they still have basic intelligence of a caveman. They eat humans so that was something to watch out for.

"So what do we know about trolls?" Theodore asked.

"Well its an XXXX level beast, so its fucking dangerous," Draco said looking at Troll in front of them. "And it will probably eat us after it kills us."

Draco for the first time wished that the great Harry Potter was here, he made things seem so easy in the movies and books, but it really isn't, A XXXX level beast is very dangerous, especially a troll which is 12 feet in height, and is carrying an extremely big spiky bat. Normally a troll weighs a ton so you know its powerful. And to top it all off, It can repel some magic as well.

The troll roared and started rushing towards them.

"You go left, I go right." Draco said and both of them headed towards the troll.

"Diffindo"

Draco sent a slash towards the troll but it only scratched its skin a little bit.

'Thick son of a bitch.'

"Theodore, ice," Draco yelled.

Theodore nodded and waved his wand. "Aguamenti"

His wand shot water from its tip, drenching the troll in water.

"Glacius"

Draco shot a spell making the water freeze at the same time as Theodore's spell. The water froze making the Troll's movement stop for a while.

Draco knew the things weren't over yet, he was trying to figure out a plan to harm the troll. Theodore didn't know many spells and Draco wasn't much better either. And again they were against a Troll which body repelled some of the binding skills they knew.

"Will Stupefy work?" Theodore asked,

Draco shook his head, "Do you know Impedimenta?"

"Yeah!! But do you think I can bind him for long? I am not that good with it." Theodore said,

"A little would do."

The ice shattered and broke. "AHHH!!" The troll roared, it was really angry and it came rushing towards them quickly.

"Impedimenta."

Theodore said binding the Troll but the troll broke free in a split second and threw the bat towards them.

"Arresto Momentum"

Draco shouted making the bat slow in speed but they still had to dodge. The bat landed near the foot of girls making them shriek.

Draco knew if he had just dodged the bat without using the spell, the bat would likely hit them and kill them. Draco was really pissed right now, the voice inside his head started acting up again.

It was telling Draco to rip the Troll apart from head to toe. But luckily Draco snapped out of it pretty quickly, even though the rage was still there he was in control of it.

The troll was coming towards them when suddenly someone came out from behind.

"Hey! Stupid Troll." It was Harry's voice, he threw a rock at the Troll's face.

"I hate this." Ron said throwing a stone at the Troll's face.

Having a chance, Draco hurriedly stood up and chanted, "Deprimo"

The floor beneath the Troll cracked. 'Shit!' Draco cursed

But thankfully due to the Trolls weight the floor collapsed making the Troll fall down but it only got stuck halfway due to its fat belly. The Troll was grumbling trying to break free.

"That was close," Theodore said. "Where are the teacher's when you need them?"

Theodore thought Draco would laugh but he was staring at the troll with anger.

Theodore looked back at the Troll seeing it trying to get up, he frowned.

"Incedio Trio"

Draco chanted making the Troll clothes catch on fire. The troll screamed but there wasn't much damage to it. In fact, he was struggling more, to get out.

'Think, Think Idiot!! Maybe if you hadn't interfered then those two losers could have saved her but no you had to interfere, and like they say destiny will bite your ass when you try to change it. Hermione was meant to meet the Troll so she did. In the book it was... Shit the book.'

Draco turned back towards the girls and waved his wand, "Locomotor"

The huge bat of the Troll lifted up in the air, Everyone was looking at what Draco was doing.

Due to the heavy bat size, Draco was using a lot of Mana, He lifted up the bat at least 5 feet in the air.

He swung his wands towards the Troll aiming at its head, as soon as he did that the bat went flying towards the Troll with a lot of speed.

Since the troll was struggling to get out, blinded by the fire it couldn't see what was coming. Suddenly the bat came towards its neck and everyone heard a loud crack.

The bat fell on the ground and the troll stopped struggling. Everyone was wondering whether the troll had fainted or was dead.

The smoke from the fire cleared up and it was finally revealed.

The troll was dead, Its neck was completely broken but due to its thick hide the neck was still in place, just the bone was poking out and the head was hanging on the other side.

Draco sat down barely able to hold himself together. Hermione and Cho came running in. Cho went to check on Theodore and Hermione came towards Draco.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes, just a little tired," Draco said.

"I am sorry, I was useless." Hermione said with a sad tone, "If I had learned some offensive spell, I could have helped."

"Don't worry! That's what I am here for." Draco said smiling.

Hermione didn't say anything and looked towards the troll.

"Don't look at it, its dead." Draco said he didn't want to scar Hermione at a young age.

"I have already seen it." Hermione said, "Don't worry I am fine."

Draco nodded and stood up with the help of Hermione slowly.

Harry and Ron were staring at the Trolls corpse. Theodore came over and helped Draco. "Well, it was a good idea."

"Yeah! But I am dead tired."

"Me too!! I think I should really consider exercising,"

They went over and looked at the troll.

"Thank you." Cho said looking at Draco.

"It's okay," Draco replied nodding, he wasn't in a mood to flirt with anyone right now,

After nearly a minute, A sudden slamming and loud footsteps made the five of them look up. Draco was still crouching down not looking at them.

Professor McGonagall had come bursting into the place, closely followed by Snape, with Quirrell bringing up the rear. Quirrell took one look at the troll, let out a faint whimper, and sat down on the floor, clutching his heart.

"Mr. Malfoy, what are you doing?" Professor McGonagall said angrily.

"The only useful thing the Troll has is its whisker, I am taking them out for potions." Draco casually replied. He was still in the heat of the moment and the anger hadn't subsided completely.

Snape coughed, "Draco, Enough!"

"Just the last one." Draco said plucking the last whisker of the troll and standing up.

Snape looked at the troll closely.

"Dead" He said.

Professor McGonagall was looking at them with an angry look, especially Draco. Draco had never seen her look so angry. Her lips were white.

"What on earth were you thinking of?" said Professor McGonagall, with cold fury in her voice. Harry looked at Ron, who was still standing still looking down. "You're lucky, you weren't killed. Why aren't you in your dormitory?"

Snape gave Harry a swift, piercing look. Harry looked at the floor. Then he glared at Draco.

Then a small voice came out.

"Please, Professor McGonagall.."

It was Hermione trying to take the blame but Draco came in front of her.

"It was me, I wanted some Troll whiskers for my potion and wanted to practice my spells."

"I wanted some Troll whiskers too, and I learned this binding spell that I wanted to try." Theodore said standing beside Draco. Draco looked at Theodore and the other side did the same too, Theodore looked back at Professor McGonagall and continued. "I don't know about the others but Miss Chang and Miss Granger were coming out of the bathroom when the troll came rushing in, so they had no choice but to stay here."

Professor McGonagall glared at them and then at Harry and Ron wanting to hear what excuse they had.

"We.." Harry was stuttering about what to say when Hermione came from behind Draco and said,

"They were probably looking to warn me since I was in the bathroom for a long time. Right, Harry?"

Harry and Ron nodded since it was really the truth.

Draco glared at Hermione who looked back at him. Draco couldn't understand why she would help these two, especially Ron who made her cry, but then he remembered, 'She is one of the good ones.'

So he just rolled his eyes and looked back at Snape, In hope, that he will help him get out of this mess.

"Draco, Theodore follow me." Snape said, "Professor McGonagall, I will take them back and punish them."

"Sure, They are children of your house, Professor Snape, but I will have to report to the Headmaster about this reckless behavior."

Snape gave a stiff smile and nodded a little. He turned back, flipping his cape back and walking away.

Draco gave one last look at Hermione and winked at her, before leaving with Snape and Theodore.

Hermione wanted to punch him since he would never get serious in any situation.

Draco also glanced at Quirrell who was acting weak. 'I will kill you with my own hands.' Draco swore to himself.

Fight scenes are pretty weird in HP, its just chanting spell and waving your wand... so I tried to add a bit of running to make it cool. I hope you can understand them, and you can suggest some ideas for actions scenes in the future.

If you are wondering why didn't he use a powerful spell and end it in one blow, its because I limited their powers. In HP spells have no requirement like the way it is written it feels like even a 11 year old can wave his wand around using the unforgivable curse everywhere.

So I have restricted spells in a different level like arrangement, so he can learn and grow from it, And not read one book about the spell and kill Voldemort, the next second.

And this scene happened a little bit before Quirrell came to the hall, which I will explain in the next chapter.
