Chapter 1353: 1273, Newbie Bracelet Chapter 1353: 1273, Newbie Bracelet “Oh, I get it,” Su Yu nodded.
When Glenn Sylvie said “not on the surface,” did that mean there were hidden dangers?
If targeted by a Planet Level, even an Eighth Order powerhouse would be no more than a large ant, facing a very grim fate.
Glenn Sylvie's gaze swept over Su Yu, and suddenly, she caught sight of the bracelet on Su Yu's wrist: “Where did you get this bracelet?”
Su Yu was taken aback and answered truthfully, “This was given to me by a woman who called herself 'hymn'. Its basic functions are far more practical than the cell phones on our homeworld, so I've kept it on.”
“'Hymn'?!” Glenn Sylvie, who was drinking water, nearly choked upon hearing the name.
Where did this imposter come from, daring to trick people under the guise of “hymn”?
But surely, such a swindler could only fool the natives, right? Who among the citizens of the Holy Silver Federation would fall for such a low-level scam?
“Forget it, I'll give you a new bracelet.”
Shaking her head, Glenn Sylvie got up and walked toward the back of the room.
Directly behind the room was another door, tightly closed, its destination unknown.
However, after only a couple of steps, Glenn Sylvie suddenly turned and asked, “Foreigner, do you have any pet companions or contractual partners?”
Su Yu hesitated, then nodded and said, “Yes.”
Now, Su Yu was certain that there were indeed no surveillance cameras at the Fige Hub, for he had let the Cat Morning Star out for such a long time without Glenn Sylvie knowing.
“Morning Star, come on out.”
Su Yu opened the Pet Space and released the Cat Morning Star.
Morning Star hadn't been sleeping in the Pet Space; she had been listening to the conversation between Su Yu and Glenn Sylvie the entire time.
Moreover, while Su Yu was absorbing the Memory Bubble, she copied one and absorbed it too, giving her a preliminary understanding of the current situation at the Fige Hub.
Morning knew she couldn't afford to cause any trouble for Su Yu now.
So, upon leaping out of the Pet Space, she demurely jumped onto Su Yu's shoulder, curled up, and remained still.
“Wow, what a cute little creature!” Glenn Sylvie couldn't resist praising when she saw Morning Star.
The appearance of a cat was supremely adorable to humans and to the Holy Silver Man as well.
However, Glenn Sylvie did not rashly approach, for she sensed that this little thing actually possessed Eighth Order strength!
In some respects, Su Yu's pet companion was no less than her!
After a moment of thought, Glenn Sylvie returned to the desk and turned on the lie detector: “Foreigner, do you only have this one pet companion or contractual partner? Are there any others?”
Before Su Yu could answer, she added, “You must answer this question seriously. If you have other pet companions and fail to disclose them, the consequences will be on you!”
“No, there's only this one,” Su Yu replied immediately.
Glenn Sylvie glanced at the lie detector, which issued no alarms.
“Good. Then wait here for a moment, I'll be back shortly.” Having said that, Glenn Sylvie turned and left the room without looking back.
After about four to five minutes, Glenn Sylvie returned to the room, this time with two bracelets in hand.
She proceeded to question the Cat Morning Star. (The questions were largely the same as those for Su Yu, mainly to verify through the lie detector if the other party was an enemy spy.)
After finishing her inquiry, she handed over two wristbands to Su Yu and Morning Star, “These two wristbands have the same functions as a hymn wristband. Currently, you cannot contact the hymn, but you can use these wristbands to contact me.
“You must wear the wristbands at all times, and you must not take them off under any circumstances. Understand?”
“Are you going to monitor my location in real-time?” Su Yu frowned.
Glenn Sylvie readily admitted, “Yes, I'm from the military side of Fige. The military is not only there to maintain order within the Hub but also to keep real-time track of every outsider's movements.”
After a pause, Glenn Sylvie continued, “However, wearing the wristband isn't all bad. First, you can contact me with it, and I will provide assistance as much as I can; second, if you encounter danger, you can ask the military for help. We'll locate your coordinates immediately and come to your rescue in a timely manner.”
The whiskers of the Cat Morning Star quivered slightly, “Meow, what if we take them off or accidentally lose them?”
Glenn Sylvie said sternly, “Then you will be the target of a manhunt by the Fige military! Don't say I didn't warn you in advance.”
“Alright,” the Cat Morning Star shrank its neck.
It seemed that after entering the Fige Hub, one couldn't just wander around recklessly. It wasn't much of an issue for her, but if Su Yu were wanted, it would be a big problem.
Morning Star obediently wore the wristband on its front leg, and Su Yu didn't say anything further, fitting the wristband on as well.
Although Morning Star's front leg was thinner than a human wrist, the wristband seemed to have an automatic shrinking feature. With a “snap,” it tightened around Morning Star's leg, fitting perfectly.
Seeing that Su Yu and the Cat Morning Star had put on their wristbands, Glenn Sylvie breathed a sigh of relief.
“Good, there's nothing else for now. You may leave here and enter the Fige Hub.”
By now, the interrogation process was over, and, representing the military, Glenn Sylvie formally cleared Su Yu and Morning Star.
Indeed, the purpose of this interrogation was firstly to check whether the outsiders were enemy spies and secondly to ensure they wore their wristbands, keeping their movements under constant surveillance.
These were troubled times.
With these two safeguards, the military no longer had to worry about the newcomers causing any trouble.
However, Su Yu had no intention of leaving.
He looked at Glenn Sylvie and said seriously, “Ms. Glenn Sylvie, what about the war compensation for our mother planet? Or instead, to which department should I apply?”
Glenn Sylvie was taken aback for a moment, “War compensation? Are you referring to the war compensation from the 'Civilization Ascension War'?”
“Precisely.”
“Hmm…” Glenn Sylvie touched her chin, frowning.
Regarding the war compensation from the “Civilization Ascension War,” Glenn Sylvie really didn't know where one could apply.
Usually, war compensation was handled entirely by the hymn, and the Fige Hub had never been involved in such matters.
But now that the hymn had disappeared, and the victors like Su Yu couldn't receive compensation and couldn't find the hymn, and with nobody in the Fige Hub responsible, then what?
“I'm sorry, I don't know how your compensation will be handled; there is no one in the Hub responsible for this,” Glenn Sylvie apologized.
Seeing Su Yu frown again, Glenn Sylvie spoke before he could say anything, “However, I have another suggestion. Using this method, you might be able to apply for compensation.”
“Oh? What is it?” Su Yu's interest was piqued.
If he could really get the compensation, that would be a major boon!
In reality, the Civilization Ascension War victors had already received their compensation from the hymn–Drac and its minions' corpses were the reward.
But if Su Yu could get an additional compensation in the Fige Hub, why wouldn't he?
Double reward, double the pleasure!
Thinking this, Su Yu excitedly watched Glenn Sylvie, anticipating her elaboration.
