Nine eventually pulled apart from Nox, the faint feelings of guilt and unease crept up on her unsuspectingly. Though he had already said yes, that was on the basis of thinking that she was a male. She had been thinking about it the past couple of days, but today was the day where she really decided to be frank with him and tell him the truth.

Nine was unused to feeling this way. Guilt had never been an emotion that she felt whenever she carried out her missions, but Nox was different from the usual targets of her mission. She had chosen Nox herself, and she wanted to be honest with him.

"Nox," Nine said softly, causing Nocturne to lean in closer with pink cheeks.

The way he stared at her only amplified the guilt she already felt. Nocturne always looked at her like she hung the moon and the stars, but she had always been denying him to protect herself. It was only when he wore down all of her layers that she even contemplated the option of being together with him.

"Nox, do you like males?" she asked, not quite sure if she should just blurt it out. All of her training never prepared her for genuine conversations with people she loved. She could always flawlessly decide what to say when she was in work mode, but she was somehow helpless facing those glittering eyes.

"No, I don't. But I like you, Nine," Nocturne said without any hesitation whatsoever.

Nine felt another stab. "Nox, I'm actually female," she said bluntly.

Nine's heart started to beat quicker in her chest, anticipating something, though she didn't know what.

Nocturne just stared at her with baffled eyes. What was Nine talking about? Nine was actually female?? Wait. Did this mean he wasn't gay?? Haha, that's right! How could he, Nocturne Destan née Asher, be gay? Or was it just Nocturne Destan now? But then, he married in as a female. So technically, they were wife and wife?? But his husband was standing in as a Crown Prince, so they were still wife and husband?

But then, what did this mean for him? Nocturne instantly felt a blow to his manly pride, having been at the whims of Nine for so long. Why did Nine act so much more valiant and manly than him! True, he had never really been the epitome of manliness even before this, but he had never even considered that Nine was a female! Then again, did gender even matter? Stereotypes were just –

The more he thought about it, the more his thoughts went around in circles, confusing him. He was almost dizzy with all the ways his thoughts suddenly branched out and whirled around.

When Nox just stared at her with stunned eyes, she couldn't help but feel her heart warm. He was thinking so hard until his eyes were practically swirling, but she could detect no disgust nor outrage that she had been lying about her gender. He really was… normal people would have been outraged, at their lover for lying to them for the littlest thing, not to mention having their significant other keep such a huge lie from them!

Nine was instantly relieved, and her affections for Nox swelled up exponentially, seeping deeper into her heart. She let out a laugh, tugging Nox into her arms. She teleported the both of them back to her room in their residence, landing on her bed.

Nocturne snapped out of his thoughts when he felt the familiar sheets under his hands, and immediately felt his heart race. Could it be? Did Nine want to…consummate their marriage? His face was instantly on fire. Ah, he hadn't prepared his heart for this at all! His face was on fire.

Nine kissed Nox on the lips before leaning back to undress, her eyes going half lidded.

Nocturne's heart was beating so quickly he was surprised that Nine couldn't hear it. Or could she? He'd seen signs that Nine's hearing was better than his by far. Could she hear everyone's heartbeats?

Nine popped open a button, exposing a milky white collarbone. Nocturne swallowed, his throat dry. He subtly licked his lips, feeling thirstier than ever. The hunger that was waking up in him was stronger than ever. He felt an urge to pounce on Nine and sink his teeth in.

Nine laughed at the hungry look on his face, feeling her cheeks warm slightly. The pink flush added to the alluring charm of Nine's presence, causing Nocturne to stare at her with wide eyes.

Usually, Nine was described as a cold beauty, that seemed hard to get close to, and even harder to conquer, but with the added flush on those smooth cheeks, Nocturne felt like he was about to lose his mind from the lovely sight in front of him. Male, female. He didn't even care. All that mattered to him was Nine and Nine alone. They were still the same person inside, only the exterior changed.

Luckily, Nocturne would be the only person who would ever see this sight. The charm exuding from Nine's every pore was practically a sweet poison that could send one straight to their deaths. You knew that it was poison, but you would willingly slip it down your throat. Nocturne had a feeling that the moment he tasted it, he would never be able to get enough ever again, nor would there ever be anyone who would be able to measure up.

Nocturne swallowed, his throat akin to the desert.

Nine slipped off the bracelet that never left her hands, reverting back to her true form.

Nocturne's eyes widened as Nine's body changed before his eyes. Though he had already accepted it, it was another thing to watch the transformation in itself.

Nothing about Nine's face changed, and neither did her body structure, but she now had fully developed breasts that were larger than the average woman. She was still the same height as she had been when he disguised as a female, which was, to his chagrin, still much taller than he was, but overall, not that much changed.

Nine smirked at Nox and climbed the bed, straddling his thighs, leaning closer to him, her teasing at an all time high. His reactions were so much more than she could ever ask for. She watched with amusement as Nox's eyes went slightly misty, as if he wasn't all there.

Nocturne's shock could not have been hidden, no matter the experience he had doing so usually. When Nine's ample sized chest pressed up against him, all the thoughts that had been going through his mind instantly evaporated. He could not have formed a coherent thought nor strung together a sentence even if his life depended on it.

When Nine leaned in to kiss him, Nocturne met her halfway, exchanging a fiery hot kiss that seeped into their very bones…

Nine abruptly pushed him down, unbuttoning more of her shirt. Nocturne groaned low at the teasing, feeling a fire rush through his body.
