Chapter 990: Chapter 560: You're Not Thinking of Planting on Ice, Are You? Chapter 990: Chapter 560: You're Not Thinking of Planting on Ice, Are You? The Sorcerer Alliance became panicky, under enormous pressure.
At first, they took the matter as a joke, but they still paid enough attention to it; after all, they would be troubled even by three hundred thousand, let alone thirty million.
But now that they really began to transfer people over, the Sorcerer Alliance panicked, facing another issue: what to do if there really were thirty million soldiers in the Expeditionary Army?
“What else can we do? Surrender or run away,” Radiad said.
“Is it necessary? We are in the sky, they can't come up, we just need to bring over the Starburst Array and bombard them,” Leixinna said dismissively.
As soon as he said this, even Cabrela couldn't help but bitterly smile, “You're thinking too simply. If they really can bring over thirty million people, such a cross-plane expedition signifies that they must mobilize more than a hundred times the number of people, thirty billion?”
“Even if we have Elf Beans that lessen the burden on logistics, but the investment in food, clothing, shelter, transportation, education, etc., needs to be at least ten times higher, three hundred billion?”
“Our Sorcerer Alliance has several hundred thousand members, but only three to five thousand sorcerers can actually be supported. If they can really organize an army of thirty million, aside from surrendering, indeed, there are no better options,” Cabrela said dejectedly.
Radiad, however, was not discouraged, but somewhat excited, “No, no, no, these are all secondary. What's more important is the kind of system that can mobilize thirty million people. What kind of system can gather and send thirty million people on an expedition? They are not undead. Such social structures, organizational systems, and production relationships are very worthy of study; they will be the direction of our future development.”
Leixinna nearly went mad with frustration, “At a time like this, can't you stop thinking about research? Can't you seriously discuss how to resist them?”
“Why resist?” Radiad asked, puzzled, “Lord Annihilation invited them to launch a campaign against the Undead Empire. We should not only not resist, but also cooperate, shouldn't we?”
Leixinna was stunned for a moment, then remembered the agreement between the Annihilation Warlock and Anthony. Right, it was agreed that the Church of Light would campaign against the Undead Empire, entering the Resting Pit to bring out the skeletons, and the reward was the Starburst Array. These people were coming to campaign against the Undead Empire.
But they were frightened by the possibility of 'actually having thirty million soldiers in the Expeditionary Army' and gathered to discuss what to do.
However, this made Leixinna frown even more deeply, “Doesn't that mean that we'll likely have to compensate the Starburst Array? With so many of them, there is a real possibility that they could exterminate the undead. The Holy Arts are very effective against those dead creatures.”
Radiad said, “It should be 'more' effective. Our current perception of the Church of Light is a weakened one that hasn't had a backbone nor the support of gods for a thousand years. But these people from the Divine Realm have dominated it, even capturing the legendary Flash Feiti. Can you imagine an undead skeleton loyal to the Light?”
Everyone sharply inhaled, “Yes, our current view of the Church of Light is that of a second-rate force that lacks even a Pope and Great Angels.”
Whereas Anthony belongs to a force strong enough to muster hundreds of millions and send out an army of thirty million, a force completely beyond compare.
Suddenly, Cabrela said, “Take a look at this video, just sent back from the ground, it's from our Flying recon unit.”
As Cabrela finished speaking, he extended his hand forward into the void, and a three-dimensional image appeared in the middle of the room.
It began with fast-moving footage that quickly lifted from the foot of a mountain over the ridge, opening up to a busy camp.
Numerous Priests, Clerics, and Priests were leading many robust believers working hard, constructing the camp.
The Flying scout was quickly discovered, and a Battle Priestess, who was digging in the field, suddenly leaped out of the ditch, shouting something loudly. Then she slapped her chest and immediately a set of Holy Spirit Armour appeared around her, and she started flying with the flapping of her wings.
Other battle units either on alert or working around the camp took to the air along with her.
The Flying scout had no choice but to rapidly ascend and flee in embarrassment.
The footage stopped there, and everyone in the room looked at each other with incredulous expressions, “A Saintess with the power of Holy Spirit Possession digging ditches?”
They didn't know that Ange had the Holy Spirit Armour Egg, thinking instead that these were Saintesses able to summon Holy Spirit Possession, a world apart from Battle Priestesses, who were trained, as opposed to Saintesses who were chosen by gods.
“And a few others are cultivating the fields; whether it's farming or digging ditches, it all seems like a waste.”
“Unless there are so many Saintesses that they can be wasted without care.”
Everyone exchanged glances, arriving at an unbelievable conclusion.
Saintesses are scarce, even someone like Shamara only had a dozen or so, not to mention digging ditches or farming, they couldn't even be properly protected.
The main thing is that these 'Saintesses' didn't seem to have any trouble adapting. They buried their heads in hard work, their hands and feet moving skillfully, clearly accustomed to doing heavy labor. And then, upon spotting a Flying Scout, one would pat her chest and jump right in.
Capable of fighting, charging forward, and doing heavy work, are these even Saintesses?
“These Expeditionary Forces from the Divine Realm seem to be more formidable than we imagined,” Cabrela sighed.
“What do we do now?” Leixinna asked.
“What can we do? Just observe and wait for Lord Annihilation to make a decision.”
After a long discussion, they came up with nothing and ended up scaring themselves. They dispersed, anxious and unsettled, waiting for Lord Annihilation's decision.
Unfortunately, the Lord of Annihilation within the Annihilation Array couldn't be contacted at will. There had to be a specific opportunity, and only he could initiate contact with them. So, for now, they had no idea how to convey the message to Lord Annihilation.
Within the void, most of the ice sphere had already been shattered, and all the people inside had been rescued and transported to the Divine Wood Continent.
One by one, people started to wake up. Guided by Gonia and others who had already awakened, they quickly came to terms with reality.
Anthony gathered everyone together, and let Ange demonstrate a 'divine miracle.' With a wave of his hand, healing magic shot out towards everyone as if it cost nothing.
Without a doubt, awakening after being icebound for three thousand years, everyone was more or less uncomfortable. But with a wave of Ange's hand, their pain vanished. Was this not a miracle?
Even three thousand years ago, in the heyday of the Church of Light, they had never seen such a display of power.
If there were any incurable diseases, Anthony would directly bring the patient to the center for a demonstration.
Watching Ange cut someone open, remove a necrotic organ, and then drop in Insect Ash Liquid or Essence Liquid, miraculously curing them, left everyone overwhelmed by the miracle.
“Could it be… the Light of the Divine Realm is the true Light? Was the Light we worshipped before just a branch of the Divine Realm's Light?” A lot of people couldn't help but question themselves.
In the past, they'd never seen a god before. Now, a True God was right in front of them, showcasing miracles. It would be surprising if they didn't question themselves.
However, if they had witnessed gods perform miracles before, they might have doubted even more fiercely: Why is this God of Balance more powerful than any they had seen before? Why!?
When Ange pulled out a bunch of Holy Spirit Armor Eggs, everyone became even more unsettled.
Anthony held up a piece of Holy Armor and said loudly, “Your devotion has earned the approval of our Lord. You are the best believers, having endured three thousand years of icebound slumber, and now gathered again under the divine light of the Libra. Now, by divine decree–”
All the people kneeled down in unison.
“You are bestowed with Holy Spirit Armor, continue to protect the Light.” The authoritative voice of Anthony echoed in everyone's ears.
Over sixty Battle Priestesses put on the Holy Spirit Armor and gained Ange's protection, their strength skyrocketing, making the others look on with envy.
After a series of enhancements, these valorous and devout Battle Priestesses, led by Gonia, were teleported to the Star Burst Plane. They believed they were returnees from the Divine Realm, the vanguard of the Divine Realm's Expeditionary Army, coming back to expel the Undead and rebuild the Light.
When spies from the Sorcerer Alliance finally managed to infiltrate this camp after much difficulty, they heard similar affirmations.
Transporting two hundred thousand people to the Starburst Plane wasn't an easy task. Originally, transporting one hundred thousand people to the Light Sea Plane had taken a considerable amount of time.
But Ange wasn't in a hurry. Taking advantage of Negris cleaning out the Temple of Redemption, he started to sort out the ice surface.
When Negris came back and saw this, he asked in confusion, “Why are you cleaning up the ice surface? You're not thinking of planting something on it, are you?”
PS: I'm asking for votes and rewards. I've been a bit slack lately, give me some votes to stimulate me, rawr!
