Chapter 1432: Chapter 993: Hope to Be Worthy of the Heroic Spirit in Your Heart
The Divine Hammer Plane's World Tree extended upward, growing along the handle of the hammer through its tunnel until it reached near the opening and then sprouted vines, which climbed onto the Mud Black Crystals surrounding it before slowly contracting.
As the vines withdrew into the tunnel, the Mud Black Crystals were also pulled into the tunnel, completely sealing the entrance.
Because Black Crystals can insulate against soul-penetrating insight, it would be very difficult for even the Undead to discover the space inside unless they dug through the crystals.
While these concealment efforts were underway, dozens of Airships set course into the vast Void.
After a full nine days, both parties reached the Divine Hammer Plane, where Silver Coin said to Orgal, “You may set an ambush here; we'll take responsibility for luring the Mourning Undead Soldiers to you. According to intelligence, the Divine Light Alliance has only deployed about half of their Mourning Undead Soldiers, making them easier for you to eliminate.”
Orgal waved his hand toward his men, and immediately messengers were dispatched. Shortly after, seven or eight Airships scattered in different directions into the Void. Another Airship broke away from the formation and landed on the Divine Hammer Plane, disembarking a group of high-collared Mages whose entire heads were covered.
“My vision, piercing through the mists of time, My vision, tracing back to the primordial wilderness, My vision, revealing the true past…”
These high-collared Mages disembarked from the Airship, chanting loudly as they walked. With their incantations, phantasmal images appeared around everyone, and wherever these phantasms gazed, certain things were projected.
Seeing this, Silver Coin turned to Orgal in shock, with an expression of utter astonishment.
Orgal spoke indifferently, “The Eye of Time Trace–every action leaves a mark. The Eye of Time Trace can see the traces left behind in the past. If anyone dares to set traps to betray us here, they will regret it.”
Silver Coin gave an 'awkward' smile, shifting his gaze back to the group of high-collared Mages.
Who would have thought they possessed such eerie abilities to see the traces of the past?
But his side was sincerely cooperating and had no intention of ambushing them; at most, they would discover the World Tree, the sealed inner space, and the Universal Pull Divine Hammer.
However, on looking back at the group of high-collared Mages, Silver Coin quickly noticed an issue and couldn't help laughing–so much for the Eye of Time Trace; it wasn't as formidable as he thought.
The phantasms illuminated by the gazes of the high-collared Mages were like searchlights, revealing images of Negris, Anthony, Silver Coin Durkon, and others, but not Ange.
Negris was clearly right beside Ange, yet Ange was absent in the projected phantasms; meaning that the Eye of Time Trace could not trace Ange's past.
Negris and others who noticed the same issue were aboard Ange's Airship, and everyone was startled upon seeing the phantasms projected by the high-collared Mages.
“It's me, it's me! I peed on that rock ten days ago, and they projected the image of me peeing? They can see things that happened ten days ago? What kind of eyes are these? Dragon Pattern Steel Core Dog Eyes?” Negris exclaimed.
“It's probably some kind of time-space retrospective ability. This is troubling; the Divine Hammer space underground is going to be exposed. Will they turn against us? Silver Coin is still on their Airship,” Durken said.
“Turn against us for what? What have we done? They would turn on us just because we sealed off a hole? This place is ours; we lent it to them to ambush the enemy, so they would turn on us just because we sealed off a section our own home?” Anthony questioned.
“Hold on, hold on, why isn't Ange in the projected phantasms? They can't trace Ange back in time?” Negris spotted the problem.
“Eh, that seems to be the case. Why can't they see the Lord?” Anthony voiced his surprise.
Ange also tilted his head.
Negris said, “It's probably like my prophetic abilities, which can't predict anything that pertains to the origin. Their tracking ability must have similar limitations.”
“All the shadows they see are static, meaning their tracking can't be presented continuously. This ability is top-notch for investigating cases,” Durken said.
Unable to present continuously and failing to see any traces of Ange, a group of high-collared mages tracked in circles until they all converged near the original entrance to the Divine Hammer space, where they lost all traces.
The high-collared mages returned to the airship and reported to Orgal through the communicator. Orgal didn't say much, just sat there waiting.
Seeing him like that, Silver Coin suddenly had a thought: “Is the Eye of Time Trace unable to activate in the Void? Can't it see how we left on the airship?”
Orgal glanced at Silver Coin and gave a slight smile, “Are you always this direct when probing military secrets? You know, I have the right to arrest you and sentence you to death for spying on Empire secrets, a capital offense.”
“Heh, let me share a secret with you instead; it won't be spying then, but information exchange, how about it?” Silver Coin proposed.
“What information?” Orgal asked.
Shrugging, Silver Coin said, “Never mind, I've changed my mind. I don't want to know your secrets, nor do I want to share any information with you.”
There was no need to share. Silver Coin already knew the answer. Orgal's reaction said it all; otherwise, he wouldn't have used 'secrets' as an excuse to change the subject.
Considering the name Eye of Time Trace, this skill must be related to time and traces. It's difficult to leave traces in the Void, so the skill can't be activated there.
It means they could see everyone gathering but couldn't tell if people ascended to the skies or descended into the ground. Since the World Tree is in symbiosis with Ange, the Eye of Time Trace can't detect Ange's traces, and naturally, it can't see the sealed entrance by the World Tree either.
Realizing this, Silver Coin couldn't be bothered to share any information.
Orgal, cornered by Silver Coin's words, had difficulty catching his breath and took several deep breaths to suppress the urge to strangle the Goblin. He had been ready to agree, as even an insane 'secret' in exchange for information didn't seem bad, but Silver Coin changed his mind.
The other airships that had scattered returned after scanning the surrounding Void and installing warning devices. Confirming safety, all airships began to land in Divine Hammer Plane and started to set up traps.
The ground was covered with Black Crystals, but Orgal's men didn't seem to care much, treating them like ordinary material and digging them up. The surface of the Divine Hammer Plane had become loose, forming a few centimeters thick layer of loose soil, easily shovelled.
While setting traps, Orgal, unable to restrain himself, asked Silver Coin, “Can you really lure the Mourning Undead Soldiers here? Don't make us turn our backs on each other if nothing shows up in the end.”
Silver Coin smiled indifferently, “Secret. Probing our secret is a grave crime.”
Orgal felt a line of frustration on his forehead, again feeling the urge to strangle the Goblin. However, after thinking it over, Orgal used Silver Coin's earlier words to respond, “Let me share a secret with you too. It's not called spying then, but information exchange, how about that?”
Immediately, Silver Coin said, “Our people have already infiltrated Light Point Fortress and captured the creatures inside. Now, Light Point Fortress is ours.”
Orgal's face, which maintained a smile, became serious, and he swallowed the words 'I don't want to know anymore', astonished.
Silver Coin laughed, “Now you owe me a secret. I hope the information you give is worthy of the Heroic Spirit in your heart.”
