Chapter 1429: Chapter 990: The Mourning Undead Legion Mobilizes
Ange swiftly conjured various Imprints, continuously embedding them into the hammer; whichever Imprint stirred, Ange would strike it, like playing a game of whack-mole, forcibly suppressing any Imprint that attempted to activate.
Actually, this was a rather bizarre act because every Imprint held different power properties, such as electromagnetic strength and the Dark Element, and no one could handle so many types of power simultaneously. Yet, Ange could easily switch between them without even needing to transform.
Negris watching Ange's actions, asked in astonishment, “What have I done? Why is it reacting so strongly?”
Ange, still having spare energy, replied, “Power activation, Incantation.”
“Pfft… Can a single incantation activate its power? How basic?” Negris felt like vomiting blood; the hammer clearly had intelligence, although somewhat incomplete. An intelligent weapon could be considered a Divine Artifact, Soul Device, or Spirit Device, like Little Angel's Earth Hammer.
The Earth Hammer was the quintessential Divine Artifact, though its demon spirits are quite temperamental. Such a Divine Artifact couldn't possibly be activated by an incantation–that would be too basic.
Well… it's hard to say for sure, if you threaten the Earth Hammer with submersion in farmyard manure, it could also activate its power, but that's not an incantation.
Only very basic weapons need such rudimentary activation methods like incantations; it doesn't match the level of the Universal Pull Divine Hammer.
Ange shook his head, somewhat distressed, and said, “Incantation, release, original imprint, power, activation, break through, my seal.”
“Are you saying that the incantation can release its original seal? The enlarging seal?” Negris spread his arms, gesturing around the entire underground space, incredulously saying.
This was even more preposterous. A hammer the size of a human head, and a hammer as big as the entire space–there's a difference in volume by millions of times. Such a massive enhancement, all because of an incantation?
Although it seemed unbelievable, that was the reality because the original seal was broken, power triggered, and the Universal Pull Divine Hammer tried to revert to its original huge size but was re-sealed by Ange, one Imprint after another.
If the Divine Realm of All Worlds had a complete consciousness, it would definitely be cursing now, what kind of person is this? Even the seals he released, he could patch back up.
Now, it had two layers of seals on it. The first layer was its original pattern Imprint, which reduced it from a gigantic hammer to a large one. Although this seal had been released by Negris, it was patched up again by Ange.
The second layer was applied by Ange, turning it from a large hammer to a small one.
With two layers of stable seals, the Universal Pull Divine Hammer could no longer struggle. It weakly cried out, “Talk… too… much… death… die…” It's unclear whose words were so abundant, forming such a strong obsession.
Anthony and Durken had also finished searching the entire Plane and came back to report, “No other discoveries, but the main structure here seems very robust, and the breath of death is dense. Soil and stones all show signs of saturation.”
“I also found that some Black Crystals showed signs of deformation due to heavy pressure. Do you think it's possible that these Black Crystals were not originally Black Crystals, but became so after long immersion here? If they were originally Black Crystals, they would just break, not deform,” Durken said.
The hardness of Black Crystals is very high, generally not deforming but breaking. However, many Black Crystals showed signs of deformation, most likely because they were compressed before transforming into Black Crystals.
Negris nodded, “Possible, otherwise smashing Black Crystals is too alarming.”
Compared to shattering Black Crystal Bodies, Negris preferred to believe this hypothesis; otherwise, it was too frightening–who threw this hammer? What kind of existence was the thrower? Could the Old Immortal restore his full strength and defeat this adversary?
With these doubts, Negris checked the gains from this trip.
A plane almost entirely composed of Black Crystals seemed to have been formed under the immense pressure of the Power of Devour, making it extremely compact and solid. Its surface had loosened over time, allowing one to scrape off a layer, but the inside remained firmly intact, only cracking a spiderweb pattern even when struck by a hammer.
According to Durken, it would be best to transform it into a Void Fortress. In doing so, even without the barriers of Heaven's Fortress, its defensive power would far exceed that of Heaven's Fortress.
“It's easy to transform it. Remember the Energy Tower in the Bridgehead Fort? I've reverse-engineered it. When the time comes, we'll build two here, and then we can move this plane,” Durken said.
Because of its size, this Black Crystal plane is easier to move than the Bridgehead Fort, so one Energy Tower would suffice, but two are to be built because this place is very sturdy and can withstand greater acceleration without disintegrating.
Next, there is a new kind of Imprint, or rather, script. A single incantation can activate the power of the Universal Pull Divine Hammer. I'll continue to study it and see if there are other uses.
The last item is this hammer; sadly, it's sealed. I don't know what use it could have. The Earth Hammer can loosen the soil; can this thing be used for that as well?
Lost in thought, Durken dropped a Teleportation Array stone slab, Ange dug up a bunch of Black Crystals, and then manually activated the Teleportation Array, directly teleporting back.
It required a slow flight to get here, but not for the return. The Teleportation Array is for the next visit–next time, just teleport directly here.
Soon after returning to Bridgehead Fort, Anthony received a message: “The Mourning Undead Legion has mobilized. They flew over, and our spies couldn't keep up.”
In the Void, thirty-odd Mourning Undead Soldiers were 'leaping.' They first fiercely kicked off from the Void, then their bodies surged forward rapidly. With no resistance in the Void, their speed was swift. After slowly adjusting their posture, they kicked fiercely again, increasing their speed significantly.
Due to the lack of resistance, each kick added more speed until their flesh swelled before they stopped accelerating.
The leading Mourning Undead Soldier, a square-faced middle-aged male human who normally would appear as a wrinkled zombie, now had his flesh swell due to the high speed, stretching the skin flat, making him look like a middle-aged man with dry skin that lacked care.
He looked towards the only spot of light in the distant darkness, his eyebrows furrowed, his mind uneasy.
His companion sensed the fluctuation in his soul and couldn't help sending a soul message to ask: “Lord Feiodor, your soul is fluctuating. Is something wrong?”
Feiodor shook his head: “No, I'm thinking about something else.”
“Something else? What is it?” his companion asked.
Feiodor hesitated for a moment before slowly responding: “I'm wondering if that Light Point Fortress could possibly have something to do with the Great Speaker? We all know that the last place the Great Speaker was seen was in the Boundless Space Hole. Now, from the empty Boundless Space Hole, a Light Point Fortress has appeared. Could it be possible that it belongs to the Great Speaker?”
“Ah?” His companion was stunned, not expecting Feiodor to be considering such a matter: “It doesn't seem impossible. But what should we do? The council's orders were for us to break in, and capture the Light Point Fortress. If it really belongs to the Great Speaker and we attack it, what if the Great Speaker gets angry?”
“What should we do? Hmph…” Feiodor was about to say something when the bright spot of light in the darkness suddenly went out.
