Chapter 1406: Chapter 967: The Lord of Light Reborn? Chapter 1406: Chapter 967: The Lord of Light Reborn? Durken opened his eyes and saw the face of the Bronze Dragon up close to his own. He quickly shut his eyes, rolled over, and continued to sleep, muttering as he did, “That was a shock. Saw Little Fat Dragon.”
No sooner had he finished speaking than Durken suddenly gasped in alarm, widened his eyes, turned his head to look, and exclaimed with delight, “Lord Nage! Is it really you? I missed you to death! How did you…how did you…lose weight?”
“I heard that. You called me Fatty Dragon,” Negris said angrily.
“Not at all, absolutely not. Eh? Lord? Your Majesty? Why are you all here? Where is this place? Lord, what's that? A Mechanical Construct? Your Majesty…you've lost weight,” Durken panicked, not knowing what to make up on the spot, but then he saw Ange and the Monarch and instantly a string of questions burst forth.
Although the appearances were different, one couldn't fake their aura, which immediately made him feel a sense of alarm. What happened? Even the Undead Kings of the All Void had been demoted.
Ange looked towards Negris.
“Hmph, I've taken note; I'll settle accounts with you later. The situation is like this,” Negris said threateningly before starting to explain.
Dan immediately understood, shocked as he said, “Even the Life Box revival has been activated; how far away must this be?”
“I don't know how far it is, but it's in that direction,” Negris said, pointing towards the Boundless Space Hole.
Durken was a learner, and after getting to know Tyrone, he studied some Astrology. When he looked towards the pitch-black Boundless Space Hole, he was stunned: “Where are the stars?”
After saying this subconsciously, Durken looked around in different directions including up, down, left, and right, where there were twinkling stars, yet there was nothing but an abrupt darkness towards the direction of the Boundless Space Hole.
“Is the Chaos Plane in that direction?” Durken asked in disbelief.
Negris nodded.
“Although I don't know why it's like this, I guess something terrifying must've happened in this hole to cause everything to vanish from inside. Anyway, forget it, what did you call me here for?” Durken was a person who could let go and quickly moved on from his doubts to ask about the actual situation.
With such a distance that Ange had to use the Life Box to summon him, there must be something he needed to do. Mainly, Ange was actually attached to a Mechanical Construct–what kind of Construct was it? It looked rather crude?
“You were called here to have fun. The Alchemy and Mechanical Art here are very advanced; I guess you'd like it, so I called you here to have fun. But aren't you worried about your other self in the Chaos Plane? Theoretically, there are now two Durkens,” Negris said.
“Eh? Have you forgotten about my Life Box Model Six? I've already solved that problem. The Life Box Model Six can periodically save memories. It's meant to face this kind of duality situation, so I set up a mechanism for a shared consciousness imprint. If we meet, we'll just merge our consciousness, and we'll become two embodiments of the same consciousness,” Durken explained.
Negris was taken aback: “Your Life Box Model Six has this kind of mechanism?” He thought it was a big flaw, but it turned out someone had already covered it.
“Of course.” After saying this, Durken moved over to Ange, poking around on Ange.
Negris slapped Durken on the head: “I called you to play, not to mess around wildly. There's a bunch of Mechanical Constructs in the hole, go find one and research on your own, don't just poke around.”
“Oh, oh.” Durken ran off holding his head and went down from the airship.
The identities of Holman Bess and the others were not simple. They were one of the six Great Speakers of the Divine Light Alliance, high-level descendants of the Joseph Faction, where Bess's full name, Bess Joseph, was the actual granddaughter of the current Speaker.
The Divine Light Alliance is what they call themselves, yet the outside world refers to them as the Divine Light Association, because their organizational structure is very similar to that of a commerce guild.
Six Great Speakers manage the six major commercial districts, each speaker below them wielding their own power, not subject to each other, and everything must be discussed and agreed upon before action can be taken.
However, if any speaker decides to invest their own money and effort into certain affairs, it becomes difficult for the others to stop them. The recent invasion of the Friel Empire was carried out independently by one such speaker–of the Leo Faction.
“What? Sending out such a massive Expeditionary Army, nearly reducing the Friel Empire to tears, was all done solely by your Leo Faction?” Hearing this, Negris asked incredulously.
At the moment, the two Mourning Undead Soldiers have already been transferred to new bodies, sitting listlessly on the deck. Upon hearing this, one named Amade replied, “Yes, although Chairman Leo had proposed the invasion of the Friel Empire in the Great Council, it was rejected by the other speakers due to the great distance. Nevertheless, Chairman Leo decided to bypass the council and proceed independently. Now that he has failed, the Great Council is preparing to impeach him.”
“No wonder the Friel Empire was willing to pay such a high price to purchase the Chaos Farm; they are facing such an enormous enemy,” sighed silver coin.
Previously accustomed to treating the Divine Light Association as a 'commerce guild', everyone started seeing it as such; but the more information we gather, the more incredible it seems. This is not merely a commerce guild, but an alliance of several powerful nations.
With the strength of the Leo Faction alone, they launched a distant expedition and almost toppled the Friel Empire. There are five more factions like the Leo Faction within the Divine Light Alliance.
“Then, are the Mourning Undead Soldiers exclusive to the Joseph Faction, or do all factions have them?” Negris asked.
“The Mourning Undead Soldiers are only available to the Great Speaker. He has a Mourning Legion, and he has allocated twelve Undead Soldiers to each faction for protection. We have been assigned to the Joseph Faction, usually obeying Chairman Joseph's orders. However, commands from the Great Speaker take precedence over everything else,” Amade explained.
“Hiss… twelve per faction? Then isn't that at least seventy-two Mourning Undead Soldiers across the six factions? The Great Speaker? Who is this Great Speaker? Is he one of the six speakers, or someone else? What's his name?” Negris was taken aback again. Could it be that the Divine Light Alliance isn't composed of six major forces but seven?
“He's someone else, and we do not know his name. We refer to him as 'His Lordship' or 'Master', others call him the Great Speaker, but he has been missing for many years. We have been here in the Joseph Faction for over two hundred years without rotation, and the whereabouts of the Great Speaker are unknown,” Amade elaborated.
Negris scratched his head. How could he be missing?
“One last question, how were you, the Mourning Undead Soldiers, created?” Negris inquired.
Abad shook his head, “Actually, you have guessed it already. We were resurrected through the Life Box, brought back to life within the Body of Mourning. At that time, the Great Speaker had the ability to create the Bodies of Mourning. We only possessed the strength of a Soul Heart, and after staying within the Body of Mourning for a long time, absorbing a black liquid day after day, it took us decades to become Mourning Souls.”
Black liquid? Negris and silver coin exchanged a glance.
Too much information had been gathered, so much so that Negris didn't know where it was best to start, which made him deeply miss Anthony.
Anthony always had a keen instinct for grasping the most crucial point from the complicated information, and then starting from there, would unravel and deal with all matters: “Why don't we use the Life Box as well to resurrect Anthony?”
Ange tilted his head and looked at him, then shook his head vigorously.
“Why?”
“Anthony, doesn't have, a Type-6 Life Box,” Ange said.
Without a Type-6 Life Box, if Ange were to forcefully resurrect an Anthony, there would truly be another Anthony. Given Anthony's personality, they would probably end up fighting each other.
At this moment, Shah suddenly rushed over in a panic and anxiously said, “My lord, look, the Lord of Light has responded to me.”
In Shah's hands was a holy light radiating, yet such light caused Shah to avoid it desperately, quickly dissipating it and saying, “Could it be that the God of Light has been reborn? I… I… I've betrayed the Light, and if it finds out, will it purify me?”
