Chapter 1397: Chapter 958 Why is your strength greater than mine? Chapter 1397: Chapter 958 Why is your strength greater than mine? When Silver Coin came floating back dragging a huge pile of scales and Dragon Scum and toe-nails, everyone was stunned: “That's it? It's done? Just like that?”
Silver Coin was also somewhat surprised: “Yeah, just like that. It said that there had been merchants who wanted to buy scales and skin from it before, but they all tried to forcibly rip or peel it off, which angered it so much it killed those fellows with its breath. They really liked this gift, so it gave me the leftovers after polishing.”
After finishing his explanation, Silver Coin scratched his head: “I didn't even get to make a move, these dragons are quite nice.”
“Yeah, they are strangely nice,” Negris said, somewhat speechless.
But upon further thought, if it were still alive, and a merchant had come up with such a set of tools that could help clean its filthy body, with the only condition being to give the waste to them, it would probably have agreed too.
Of course, now it would definitely not agree. Knowing that Ange could cultivate dragon bodies from the scales, it firmly refused to let its own scales be lost. It didn't want dozens of Juvenile Dragons with the same bloodline to suddenly appear one day.
But the White Dragons didn't know this.
“However, I feel that their child, the little White Dragon, is a bit odd. It seems weak and gets out of breath after moving a bit. Could it be sick?” Silver Coin mentioned.
Before anyone else spoke up, Ange nodded.
“Why are you nodding? Is that little dragon really sick?” Negris asked.
Ange nodded again: “Life Force, weak, declining.”
“Life Force is weak and it's declining? Silver Coin, did you ask what's wrong with the little dragon?” Negris inquired.
Silver Coin shook his head: “I didn't dare to ask just now, but now that the items are delivered, I'll go ask. If it's really sick, can it be healed?”
Ange took out a Fruit of Life and handed it to Silver Coin; weak Life Force is a big problem for all Life Species, but not for the God of Life.
Silver Coin thought for a moment, then stuffed the Fruit of Life into his Storage Space; this time, instead of projecting it onto the planting construct, he used the Goblin's body to drag the planting construct and floated off towards the iceberg where the White Dragons were.
Ogli quickly noticed him, but on seeing the familiar planting construct, he just watched curiously.
Silver Coin called out from afar: “Lord Ogli, it's me.” As he spoke, he shook the planting construct in his hand to indicate that he was the one who had projected onto it earlier.
Landing in front of Ogli, Silver Coin put away the planting construct and then said: “Our first encounter was just now, so it was presumptuous to use a substitute, but after seeing Lord Ogli, I realized you are a wise, intelligent, and upright Giant Dragon, so it would be impolite to use a substitute again.”
Just listen to that, listen to how pleasing Silver Coin's words are; although Ogli's face remains expressionless, its tail can hardly resist curling up.
Silver Coin took out the Fruit of Life, cut it into four quarters, took a bite out of one quickly, and swallowed it. If you want someone to share your food, you should eat a piece first to show sincerity.
However, the eyes of Ogli and the Mother Dragon had already bulged, because they felt an incredibly strong Life Force from it, something they had been desperately searching for; the Mother Dragon was even so excited that she crawled over, but then she seemed to think of something, glanced at Ogli, and retreated back.
Silver Coin hurriedly held up another quarter and said: “Would you like to try?”
Ogli's scrutinizing gaze went back and forth on Silver Coin, who even felt heat entering his body, converging to his stomach and intestines–clearly inspecting the reaction of the Fruit of Life inside.
The powerful Life Force of the Fruit of Life nourished Silver Coin's body, making his stomach and intestines rejoice as if reborn.
After observing for a short while, confirming that the fruits were not poisonous, Ogli, with its eyes fixated on the Fruit of Life, let it float over, checked it once more to make sure there was nothing else in it, then bit into it.
A quarter of the Fruit of Life, for a Giant Dragon of this size, wasn't even enough to get stuck in its teeth–hardly a taste. But after smacking its lips once, it felt a warm current sliding down its throat.
Silver Coin handed another petal to the mother dragon. After noticing Ogli had no objections, she extended her neck and took the petal. It seemed she lacked the ability to move objects with her gaze.
The Juvenile Dragon also wanted to eat. Just as it was about to run over, Ogli held it back, leaving it whimpering in frustration. However, after a few yelps, it began to gasp for air.
After waiting a bit longer, Ogli and the mother dragon fully digested their quarter of the Fruit of Life, felt its effects, and confirmed there was no danger. Only then did Ogli release the Juvenile Dragon.
The little one, weak but eager, took the last piece. It chewed noisily and then whimpered, still wanting more.
Everyone remained silent, just quietly watching it. The Juvenile Dragon didn't understand why everyone was staring and, after frolicking around for a bit, suddenly yawned. It snuggled into the ground and fell into a deep sleep.
From the moment the Juvenile Dragon yawned, the mother dragon suddenly covered her mouth and began to cry silently.
This reaction was a bit beyond Silver Coin's expectations. Was the Juvenile Dragon's condition more severe than he realized?
“What do you want?” Ogli asked in a deep voice.
Silver Coin scratched his head and tentatively asked, “What do you have?”
A merchant knows best how to unearth needs. He had discovered the Juvenile Dragon's poor health; wasn't that a need? A need for healing. But what could Silver Coin offer in exchange? He truly didn't know what these White Dragons possessed.
However, he was sure what the Fruit of Life was worth. It could extend the lifespan of Life Species. Thus, it was worth at least several decades of life. He just didn't know what price these White Dragons were willing to pay for those additional decades.
“Hmph, I know what you want. Heal my child, and I will make the pact with you,” Ogli lifted a claw and sliced a small cut across her chest, drawing out a strand of dragon blood. With the blood, she drew several strokes in the air, creating an Imprint of blood.
Silver Coin was somewhat confused: “Make what pact?” The Giant Dragon seemed to be under some sort of misconception.
“Dragon Blood Contract, of course. Don't you humans dream of becoming Dragon Knights? You've even found out my child's weakness and brought a cure, in hopes of making a pact. Cure my child, and you shall become my partner–the Dragon Knight!” Ogli declared.
“I… I didn't…” Silver Coin didn't know what to say.
This White Dragon had obviously misunderstood; she assumed Silver Coin had come prepared, not only learning about her child's ailment but also possessing the cure, all to make a contract with her.
This misunderstanding… was fantastic.
“How do we sign?” Silver Coin quickly asked.
“Just drip your blood onto the Dragon Blood Mark. But you should know, the contract includes 'curing my child's illness'. If you fail to do that, I'll bite you to death,” Ogli warned menacingly.
“I…” Silver Coin thought of nominating someone else, but considering Ange was all wood and the Monarch all bone, he bit his finger without hesitation and pressed his blood onto the Dragon Blood Mark.
The Dragon Blood Mark lit up for a moment, casting twin beams of light, marking Silver Coin's chest and Ogli's forehead.
A continuous warm flow surged from the Imprint throughout his body. Silver Coin, puzzled, pinched his arm and thigh and felt they were much sturdier.
“With the Dragon Blood Contract sealed, we become blood-connected partners, sharing each other's strength. My power is stronger, so it will enhance your physique to adapt to my power…” Ogli explained.
“Hey? That's odd. I'm also sharing your strength? What's going on? Why do you also have a power stronger than mine?”
