Chapter 1340: Chapter 901: It's Not Impossible to Want to Be Fast Chapter 1340: Chapter 901: It's Not Impossible to Want to Be Fast Anthony hesitated and asked, “But isn't it said that consciousness is eternal and undying? How can there be an increase?”
“There is, faith, there's an increase,” Ange explained Emil's situation.
“You mean you felt an increase in a very low-level paladin?” Anthony asked, “But there are many Disciples of Light in this world, and you only felt an increase in that low-level paladin?”
Ange scratched his head and explained with difficulty, “I, through Little Bone, feel the increase, but outside, I cannot feel it.”
Anthony looked towards Negris.
Negris translated, “He can sense individual increases through Little Bone, but he cannot sense an overall increase in the world outside.”
Ange nodded vigorously and let out a long sigh, grateful that Negris understood.
Anthony, arms crossed, fell into deep thought, and after a long while, he finally said, “Recently, I've found Sava and Vania, they've been reborn and don't remember the past, but their consciousness is very much intact, so it's true that consciousness is immutable over time.”
“I used some tricks with them to make a bit of money, then I bought an Archbishop position in the Church of Light. I'm now the Archbishop of the Church's District of the Land of Death.”
“Pfft–did you just rob someone? It's only been a few days, and you've already made enough to buy an Archbishop position? You can even buy that?”
“Better than robbing.” Anthony whispered something into Negris's ear, causing Negris to curse angrily, “You fraudster! You trickster!”
Anthony spread his hands and continued, “And the position of Archbishop wasn't expensive, but that's not the point, the point is that even a Bishop's position can be sold, the Church of Light is utterly corrupt.”
“Yes, totally corrupt, and they've also split apart,” Negris shared his findings regarding the Church of Light, the Holy Society, and the Holy Light Society.
“A collapse of faith, the fall of gods, it truly is the end of days,” Anthony lamented.
Negris, puzzled, asked, “Why is that? Ange has always had his projection power in this world, and even helped me build a Knowledge Temple, but those believers are too utilitarian; they only believe in me during exams, otherwise, they don't care at all.”
It's more accurate to say they are believers in the god of exams, not the God of Knowledge; they don't want to gain knowledge, they just want to get through their exams.
Anthony suddenly started coughing awkwardly.
“What's wrong? Got a cold? No way, are you so weak after your rebirth that you get colds?” Negris inquired with concern.
Anthony gestured with his eyes, but Negris still looked clueless and asked, “What do you mean? Are you not cold, or are you not that weak?”
Sighing, Anthony said helplessly, “I'm fine. I'm just thinking that the collapse of faith is most likely related to Lord.”
Ange tilted his head in confusion, pointing to himself.
Anthony gave a wry smile, “Lord, do you normally show miracles or respond to the prayers of your followers?”
Ange nodded.
“What miracles have you displayed, and what prayers of the believers have you answered?” Anthony asked.
Ange replied, “Growing vegetables, healing.”
Negris finally understood without needing Anthony to say anything, slapping his thigh: “No wonder, it's already good enough that the Church of Light didn't turn you into a god of farming.”
A religion where the miracle is a mass of vegetables sprouting eagerly and Divine Arts is healing–it would indeed be hard to grow such a church.
Of course, with an exceptional leader, a powerful Godman, it could still be done–for instance, Anthony, or even Guliani.
“Pfft–Guliani? He was reborn too?” Negris almost spit out a mouthful of old blood.
Anthony shrugged, “Yeah, reborn, then died again. The Church of Light grew strong under his hands and then began to split after his death. Sigh, he did very well, only slightly less than me. If he had focused on building a strong clergy hierarchy, the Church wouldn't have gotten to this state.”
Negris glared at him, catching the slight pause Anthony made when he said 'god', probably wanting to say 'Godman', this Death God's Staff.
Indeed, if they could train those deceptive Godmen, even with only Healing Magic, the Church could grow strong. After the Faith Storm and the loss of gods, the Church of Light thrived mainly using their Healing Magic, becoming the premier religious institution on their Plane.
However, cultivating devout believers requires deceptive Godmen, which sounds somewhat odd.
“But aren't there still the Holy Society and the Holy Light Society? They're still of considerable size, how can there be no increase?” Negris asked, not understanding.
Anthony would not doubt Ange's words and instead analyzed, “We do not know the situation with the Holy Society yet, but the Holy Light Society definitely does not venerate the God of Balance. Their secretive ways are more akin to some covert organization. To put it nicely, they're integrating into human society; to put it bluntly, they're parasites.”
“Okay, that's another one ruled out, so what's the reason the Holy Society has no increase?” Negris asked.
“It might not be that there's no increase, just too little for Lord to notice,” Anthony replied. “Now that Lord has confirmed that Faith Elemental Force can indeed increase from nothing–whether we call it consciousness increase, Chaos Mist, or something else–(all we need to do) is cultivate more devout followers who give their devout offerings.”
“Just like that… you make it sound so easy. What are you planning to do?” Negris asked.
Anthony turned towards Ange and said, “Lord, I request that Lord Silver Coin come down and help us. With money, power, food, and attraction on our side, the God of Fraudsters will aid us.”
Ange shook his head, “Silver Coin, discount, carry Holy Light.”
Anthony stood in solemn respect as he realized that Silver Coin was tasked with such an important mission; indeed, calling him down for assistance would be underutilizing his capabilities.
Negris, however, felt confused and asked, “Wait, that can't be right–I've looked at the records of the Silver Chamber of Commerce, and Silver Coin was mentioned. Hasn't Silver Coin come down before?”
Ange shook his head, “Projection.”
“It suddenly makes sense,” Negris realized, guessing that someone who spontaneously believed in the God of Fraudsters summoned a projection of Silver Coin.
“So, what do we do now?” Negris asked.
“Of course, we figure out a way to make money,” Anthony said calmly. “Using my newly purchased position to recruit people and train them into professional priests, who will then spread the glory of God.”
Negris sneered, “How long is that going to take? Without spanning three to five generations, can you cultivate a sufficient number of followers?”
“Is it slow? There's a way to speed things up, but Lord himself will have to take the lead,” Anthony turned to Ange and said, “Lord, I would like you to burst open the Starburst Array.”
