Chapter 1339: Chapter 900: Sending the King Away Chapter 1339: Chapter 900: Sending the King Away In the Void, the utterly bored Ange suddenly opened his eyes and cast his gaze upon a different world.
There, supporting the entire Dimensional World was truly boring, and Ange couldn't clearly see all the changes within the dimension. Even if he could, the world that was accelerating a thousand and eight hundred times made it impossible for him to understand what was actually happening.
Therefore, he needed Little Bone to act as his eyes and relay everything it saw back to him.
However, Little Bone was just as bored; after planting trees for tens of thousands of years, it still habitually looked for places to plant trees even after leaving the Land Forbidden to Gods.
Planting trees oneself was fun, but watching others accelerate the process of tree planting wasn't fun at all.
Of course, boredom was a small matter, the biggest problem was that his plan had hit a snag.
If it were just to exhaust the Ancient Godlight to death, Ange's plan would have already succeeded by now–the Ancient Godlight was as good as dead, and even if it sent Adams in a dying struggle, it wouldn't change anything.
However, Ange's goal was not just to wear out the Ancient Godlight, and now his plan was stuck.
Watching the sacred light light up on Emil's body, followed by the figure of a Monarch emerging, Little Bone was shocked.
Equally stunned was Emil; he was just an apprentice Knight–what was this? Divine Soul Descent?
Emil felt no thrill at having triggered Divine Soul Descent himself; instead, he felt a little panicked. It felt like showing up for work and stepping in with his left foot, only to be suddenly promoted by eighteen levels to become a Libra Knight–deeply inadequate, what virtues and capabilities did he have to summon a Divine Soul Descent, wasn't that something only an Archbishop could do?
Ange, who was projecting his Divine Soul, continuously accelerated his own soul until it finally matched the time rate of this world, then turned to Little Bone and asked, “Negris, where is he?”
Little Bone raised a hand and pointed towards the Starburst Array in the sky.
Ange looked up at the Starburst Array and said, “Protect him; he is the anchor.”
As he spoke, he patted Emil's shoulder, then soared into the sky like a meteor shooting towards the Starburst Array.
As Ange's hand came down, Emil was entirely engulfed in sacred flames.
“This… this…” Emil fumbled with his arm, saying in a panic, “Sacred Flame? Have I been judged? But it doesn't hurt.”
Adams, who had just sighed in relief at Ange's departure, said irritably upon hearing this, “Although I'm not quite sure what this is, even a fool should guess that this is a good thing. You've been promoted, you have been recognized by the Time Origin, you lucky dog.”
“Ah? Time Origin, but… I'm a Knight of the God of Balance, doesn't this count as abandoning my faith? Is the Time Origin greater, or is the God of Balance greater?” The situation was too strange, and Emil was having trouble digesting it all.
“The Time Origin is several levels above the God of Balance, you lucky dog.”
Ange, who had soared into the sky, streaked across it like a meteor, arriving above the Starburst Array, and then skimmed low over it.
He didn't know where Negris was, but as long as it was on the Starburst Array, bright and noticeable enough, it would see him.
This simple and direct tactic worked, not only did Negris see him, but the defenders of the Starburst Array did too. Airships swarmed in from all over the array.
Ange didn't bother with them, took a few turns in the air, accelerated, and left all the airships behind him.
This domineering and disdainful behavior made the entire Starburst Array anxious–where did this terrifying creature burst out from?
Ange circled a few times, finally seeing a Yellow Mud Book on the ground hopping about; each hop to a height revealed the illusion of a Bronze Dragon.
“Found it,” Ange flew over, picked up Negris, and then took to the air again, asking, “Where's Anthony?”
“How did you get in here? You're looking for Anthony? What happened? I don't know where he is.” Negris immediately became serious.
Ange wasn't one to look for trouble without good reason. If there wasn't a special circumstance, he wouldn't project himself in here to look for Anthony; he would only project in to plant vegetables, so something must have happened.
Ange said something incomprehensible, “No increase.”
“No increase? What do you mean? What increase?” Negris was utterly confused.
Ange, troubled, scratched his head and said, “Find Anthony, tell.”
“You call out to him; he's probably asleep and didn't see it, but don't shout his name, not knowing which alias he's using. In case he's been caught, and you call out his real name, that would put him in great trouble.” Negris, with schadenfreude, looked at the increasingly gathering airships and cars behind, and the few who were unmistakably United Sorcerers, said gleefully.
Negris rejoiced in the misfortune of others yet was unaware of how twisted his suggestion was. Without calling his name, how would Anthony know they had come?
Ange thought for a moment and then let out a loud, “Awooo–”
Anthony, in his sleep, suddenly awoke, pulled on his trousers, and ran to the windowsill. He immediately saw Ange flying chaotically in the air.
“My lord, how did you get in here?” Anthony quickly covered his face, raising his hands high and praying silently in his heart. As he prayed, his palms began to glow with the Holy Light.
Ange immediately spotted him, flew down, picked him up, and sped away from the range of the Starburst Array.
The Starburst Array was in an uproar. Having been established for so many years, this unprecedented event had never happened before: an unknown powerful being had circled the Array several times, picked up two things, and then flew away.
Is this place a public restroom? Come and go as one pleases?
Just after leaving the Starburst Array, Anthony couldn't wait to ask, “My lord, what's happened?”
His reaction was just like Negris'. It must be something important if Ange had projected down here, not to tend the fields, but to find them.
“Nothing, just no increase,” Ange said once more.
This phrase, incomprehensible to Negris, was somehow understood by Anthony, “My lord, do you mean there's no increase in consciousness?”
Ange nodded immediately.
“How do you know he's talking about no increase in consciousness?” Negris was unconvinced, wondering how Anthony understood while it didn't. What does 'no increase in consciousness' mean?
Anthony explained, “Because I've seen Sava and Vania, as well as Cabrela.”
“Sava and Vania? Those two rascals, but what does that have to do with no increase in consciousness?” Negris asked, puzzled.
“If everyone living in this world possesses consciousness that has already existed outside, then it's like no new consciousness has been added,” Anthony explained.
Then, turning to Ange, he asked with confusion, “Having no increase in consciousness is one thing, but if the consciousness of known people is intact, reincarnation doesn't matter, so why worry about the increase?”
Ange said, “The Monarch says, must leave, no increase, Energy Level Desert, can't cross.”
Ange had willingly let the Monarch transfer power to him, aiming not merely to outlast the Ancient Godlight but to fulfill the Monarch's wish, to escort the Monarch away.
