Chapter 1300: Chapter 863: Your Brother Ah Chapter 1300: Chapter 863: Your Brother Ah Two colossal space rifts intersected ahead in the Void, forming a symbol that forbade passage.
“Wait a moment, it has a rhythm,” the Dark Origin said.
Indeed, it was rhythmic, occurring every twenty hours. When the time came, the center of the cross suddenly darkened and spread outward, swiftly transforming into a vortex.
“Hisss – Big Mouth, your brother!” Negris exclaimed in shock.
“Don't call me Big Mouth,” the Abyssal Big Mouth replied irritably. “That's not an Origin, just an Abyss, likely simulated using some other power.”
“Got it, Big Mouth. The Abyssal Mysteries can also be simulated? Your mysteries aren't that great then,” Negris said, easily infuriating others.
However, his words struck a sore spot for the Abyssal Big Mouth. It was already uncomfortable knowing that Ange easily mastered the Abyssal Mysteries, but now, this unknown thing could also simulate it. Furthermore, he couldn't sense any Origin's presence. Was his Abyssal Mystery going to become commonplace?
At that moment, Ange's expression changed, and Monarch stood up straight, looking ahead. “It seems to be devouring Dark Element,” he said.
The face of the Abyssal Big Mouth instantly fell. Could it actually devour Dark Element?
Of course, the Abyssal Big Mouth could devour Dark Element too, but it couldn't solely rely on it. Its power came much more from the Chaos Mist and various substances; it couldn't directly use Dark Element.
Therefore, it had created Dark Wing, an avatar designed to dispose of the unusable Dark Element it absorbed, albeit very inefficiently.
But now, with nothing in the Void and no Chaos Mist present, this Abyss needed only Dark Element to maintain balance. Wasn't that a capability most Ancient Gods yearned for?
That's why Drosa had enslaved itself to Ange. With God Status, Drosa obtained access to low-efficiency but omnipresent power, unlike Chaos Mist, which was only available in the Chaos Plane. They had to be cautious about extracting some for fear of being killed by the Undead Ruler.
Even the Wandering God League was formed based on such needs, an alliance of Ancient Gods hoping to obtain a capability to nourish themselves without needing Chaos Mist.
The Abyss before them was so vast yet maintained balance by devouring only Dark Element – the ultimate state it could only dream of, but sadly, this Abyss wasn't it.
The Abyss persisted for over twenty hours before vanishing, revealing a swirling mass of Dark Element. Once the Dark Element became dense enough, it became visible to the naked eye, perceivable by anyone.
However, almost immediately, two intersecting rifts appeared at the location of the Dark Element mass and sucked it in with a whoosh.
Then, the two rifts expanded continuously, transforming back into that immense cross.
Everyone watched silently until Negris finally said, “Doesn't it feel like, like a combination of your three mysteries? The Hole Bug's Space Power, Dark Origin's Dark Element, and Big Mouth's Abyssal Mysteries. They coordinate with each other, achieving balance, and finally gathering a large mass of Dark Element?”
“It does seem so. Why is there such a compound mystery here? Who has the power to integrate your three Original Mysteries just for a mass of Dark Element?” Monarch wondered aloud.
“What do you mean 'just for a mass of Dark Element'? In this Voidland, Dark Element should be the only viable power,” the Abyssal Big Mouth argued discontentedly.
“If they have the ability to capture and store Dark Element, they really wouldn't need to steal my origin,” Dark Origin added.
Anthony analyzed, “First, it might be that they collect too little, roughly every fifty hours for a cycle, only gathering this little, and maintaining balance surely also consumes it, so they can't store too much. Thus, they need to steal yours. Second, they might not be aligned with the Void Will.”
“Impossible, if they're not with the Void Will, you mean there is another entity that can combine our three Mysteries? Absolutely impossible,” Abyssal Big Mouth firmly denied.
“`
There was already a abyss devouring dark elements here, which was quite a blow to it; if it were the Void Will, it might be understandable since the Void Will was its former boss. But if it were some unknown entity, then its abyssal secrets would indeed be commonplace.
No sooner had these words fallen, than a group of humanoid creatures flew out from the huge rift.
These humanoid creatures were surging with fluctuations of dark elements, and they were armored in thick armor. The style of the armor was lightweight, yet completely sealed, not even revealing their eyes.
“Dark element fluctuations? Armor? What kind of design is this? Magic Swordsman?”
In knight novels, magic swordsmen who train in both magic and martial arts often appeared, but Negris had never seen such a profession in reality.
Some swordsmen might know a bit of magic, and some mages might know a bit of staff technique, but Negris had never seen anyone who could use magic and battle qi together in combat.
Even Ange, who either cast spells or transformed for close combat, wouldn't mix them together because there was no synergistic effect.
Thus, Negris's remark was purely sarcastic; after all, seeing a mage in armor was a rarity.
After these dark element armored mages flew out of the rift, they rapidly dispersed to various locations around the rift, drawing imprints with their hands. One by one, imprints made of dark elements were placed on the edges of the rift.
With their arrangement, the somewhat blurry edges of the rift became solidified.
After some repair, these dark element armored mages regrouped and flew back into the rift.
Anthony commented, “They are maintaining this space rift, AND they live inside it, which is somewhat unreasonable.”
“What's unreasonable?” asked Negris.
“It's unreasonable to put residential and production areas together. What if something goes wrong during production and blows up where they live? Producing dark elements involves abyssal and spatial secrets; what if it explodes and erases the rift? Unless it was absolutely necessary.”
However, a giant fork appearing in this voidland was already unreasonable enough; other inconsistencies could be overlooked. The current problem was, should they go around, or should they enter this giant fork rift?
“Let's go in and see what the situation is; perhaps the Void Will is hiding inside.” Abyssal Big Mouth suggested, clearly not believing these dark element armored mages were unrelated to the Void Will.
“Are you crazy, brazenly intruding into dimensional space? What if the rift closes and traps us inside?” Negris objected.
Abyssal Big Mouth sneered, “What dimensional space can trap a Hole Bug? It is the origin of space.”
True, with the Hole Bug nearby, they basically didn't need to worry about any spatial traps, as the dimensional space could be chewed through.
Plus, with five primordial gods here, even if the Void Will really was inside, they would dare to storm in and beat it up.
The Monarch waved his hand, and a cloud of smoke enveloped everyone, then they silently drifted toward the rift.
Perhaps because they assumed nobody would approach this voidland, the rift had almost no guards, but even if there were, they probably couldn't see a cloud of smoke in the pitch-black void.
They entered the rift and came to a vast dimensional space, in which a light ball at the center radiated burning bright light, illuminating the entire dimensional space.
Behind the light ball, a huge man-made object floated there, with the light ball positioned right at its central axis, as if this man-made object had lit up the light ball.
Directly beneath the light ball, in a vast open area, a solitary Mage Tower stood tall.
On seeing this Mage Tower, Negris and others were dumbfounded, “Tuxi Rikis, there's one of your brothers here.”
