Chapter 1294: Chapter 857: I Might Have Burned His Book Chapter 1294: Chapter 857: I Might Have Burned His Book Tuxi Rikis first froze for a moment, then laughed happily, “That would be great. I've been sick of this place for a long time. If you could harm me, it would be a kind of relief, and I would be very grateful to you.”
“Ah? Have you been here for a long time? If you're sick of it, why don't you leave? I was just joking, thinking you're too unguarded against strangers,” Anthony chimed in conveniently.
The Monarch suddenly sighed in his soul, and Ange cocked his head.
All they heard was the Monarch speaking in the fluctuations of his soul, “How come I never realized before how cunning Piero is? He can easily extract a ton of information.”
“That's right. These skills are what he honed through countless reincarnations, spending a thousand years as a Godman,” Negris commented.
Anthony's casual skill in leading conversation impressed even the Monarch, and Tuxi Rikis had unknowingly fallen into the trap, spilling everything before he knew it.
Tuxi Rikis said, “I've been here for about sixty thousand years, give or take, plus a few scattered hundreds of years that I couldn't be bothered to count. I'd need to check the magic clock.”
“Ah? Sixty thousand years, but you look so young! I thought you were only in your sixties or seventies, with hardly any wrinkles,” Anthony exclaimed in shock.
Even for the Undead, existing for sixty thousand years is no small feat. They would at least need to undergo skeletal metallization and slumber in a place with a heavy breath of death to possibly preserve themselves for that long.
Ordinary bone skeletons would rot away in just a few decades. The Resting Camp, sealed for a thousand years, saw even the Silver Skeletons decay; how could a living person survive for more than sixty thousand years unless they were not human?
But even Your Majesty had said he was human. Could Your Majesty have been mistaken?
“Ah? Are there wrinkles? Oh, heavens, how impolite of me.” Tuxi Rikis quickly covered his face, then took out a bottle of liquid, dabbed a little on his face, and started to pat it gently.
That liquid was probably similar to the Goddess of Beauty City's Goddess of Beauty Skin Brightening Set, a skin care product with rejuvenating properties. After some patting, Tuxi Rikis's face did seem somewhat fresher.
But this couldn't return him to his youth, and in the end, he could only lament, “This is as good as it gets. I'm still too old. I don't know why, but aging is verySlow here. I came here when I was thirty, but after sixty thousand years, I feel like I've only aged forty years or so.”
“Oh, how did you get here? Why don't you leave?” Anthony asked curiously.
He was genuinely curious; this place was one hundred and eighty million kilometers from the Chaos Plane, and they had expended a great deal of effort to get here. How could a human mage possibly have arrived here?
“I was teleported here,” Tuxi Rikis replied.
“Did you teleport from a nearby plane? Are there any planes around here?” Anthony asked.
“No, I teleported from a material plane far away because I used a kind of Spatial Slingshot Technique, catapulting myself here with the help of a certain anchor point,” Tuxi Rikis answered.
Spatial Slingshot Technique? Negris blinked, quickly leaned against Ange, and retreated back into his original form.
The Bronze Book fluttered its pages within the Dimensional Space, and after some searching, Ange finally found Hiludi on a Hole Bug outside the landmasses.
The Hole Bug had stretched the Dimensional Space a bit wider, making the several large chunks of land floating inside seem quite spacious.
In the distance, there was a vast area filled to the brim with Chaos Mist. To know the true extent of that area, one would have to clear away the mist.
The Hole Bug was nestled between the chunks of land and the mist, curled up into a chubby little bug, dozing off. Now and then, Spatial Bubbles would pop out from the tip of its nose and then “pop” burst apart.
Hiludi carefully approached the Spatial Bubbles, and at the moment of their rupture, she gingerly caught something and brought it back.
This was incredibly audacious. These were Spatial Bubbles originating from a Space Origin Hole Bug's snores. Merely touching one could easily rip Hiludi to shreds, not to mention capturing one. Such an act was as dangerous as an ant scooping up lava.
However, Hiludi was fully prepared, outfitted in a piece of Holy Armor with a long 'tail' around her waist, hanging her from the Hole Bug. If any sudden change occurred, it would immediately pull her away.
Don't even ask why she didn't use the more convenient spatial blink. Space blink around a Hole Bug? Dream on!
Due to the danger, Negris didn't dare disturb her until she had caught something and pulled back to safety. Then he flew over, annoyed, and said, “Have you lost your mind? Do you have a death wish? What are you fishing for?”
Hiludi proudly showed off what she had in her hand, “Space debris! Don't you know how precious this stuff is? Just a small piece like this can seal off an independent Dimensional Space. I begged Big Cat for a long time and petted it for ages before it reluctantly gave me a little bit. Now there are heaps of it as the Hole Bug snores. How could I sleep without grabbing some? With one scoop, I've got a Mage Tower, a hundred luxury Magic Crystal Cars, a thousand beauty treatment vouchers!”
Negris replied irritably, “You want money over your life. If a Spatial Bubble tears you apart, you couldn't be put back together. Even Ange couldn't save you. It would be better to help Ange with the farming and then exchange for a bit.”
Hiludi stuck out her tongue.
“Forget it. I came to ask you something. Do you know about Space Slingshot Technology?” Negris asked.
Hiludi's eyes lit up, “Are you talking about a kind of magic where one uses dimensional anchor points for slingshot propulsion to teleport over very long distances? Spatial Slingshot? That's fitting. Let's call it that. Lord Nage, you're really good at naming.”
Negris spoke irritably again, “I didn't come up with it. Someone has used this technology to teleport here from afar.”
Hiludi looked at him skeptically, “That's impossible. This is cutting-edge magic exploration. I haven't seen any Wizards delve into this kind of research, including on the Star Burst Plane. How could someone have already used it?”
“Could it be that another Plane has reached such a high level of expertise? But even if they had the expertise, the conditions wouldn't be right, would they? Who could have the ability to anchor a location like you, Lord?”
Hiludi murmured to herself.
“What do you mean? Do you need to have an anchor point to do it?” Negris asked.
“Of course,” Hiludi responded, “the anchor point is the most important part. It determines how far you can teleport. You mentioned a slingshot, so let's use that as an analogy. What determines how far you can 'shoot' isn't the projectile, but the handle and the string of the slingshot. The handle represents the anchor point. The more stable the anchor point, the longer you can draw the string, and the farther you can launch.” Hiludi gestured like pulling back a bow as she explained.
Anchor points? Negris muttered the word to himself, then sent his thoughts to his body, and conveyed them to Anthony through the Soul Network.
Anthony said in the Soul Network, “So you mean he needs an anchor point to teleport here. Who is this 'anchor'? Right, this Tuxi Rikis is very likely from the Master Plane. The book he wrote might have been burned by me.”
