Chapter 1285: Chapter 848: But I Still Have to Kill You Chapter 1285: Chapter 848: But I Still Have to Kill You On the edge of the Chaos Plane, an angry roar came from within the body of the Abyssal Big Mouth, “Void Will, I have been loyal to you, why do you want to kill me?”
Right in front of the Abyssal Vortex, a giant face bulged out as if it rose from another space, with uneven spaces forming the contours of its face.
Ordinary creatures couldn't see this kind of spatial bulging and caving as outlines; without spatial sensing abilities, one couldn't even see this face, let alone perceive its true form.
The mouth of the face moved as the voice of the Void Will rang out, “Hmph, even your Abyss Ball ended up in the hands of the Law Breaker, and you still dare claim to be loyal to me?”
“Ah? What Abyss Ball? My Abyss Ball appeared in the hands of the Law Breaker? No no, you base your judgment that I betrayed you on a mere Abyss Ball? Are you stupid? There are a bunch of Abyss Balls at the marketplace run by the Law Breaker, anyone can buy them as long as they have something of equal value to trade,” the Abyssal Big Mouth said angrily.
“What marketplace? A marketplace for conducting transactions? They have that thing there? And a bunch of them?” The face of the Void Will wore an expression that seemed to say you've got to be kidding.
“Doubt it? Go see for yourself then. They sell everything there, anything you can think of is available for purchase, even the Hole Bug's Frozen Space. Go find a being called Silver Coin, or one named Luther on the Plane; they can get you what you want as long as you can pay,” the Abyssal Big Mouth said in a huff.
Really this miraculous? A hint of doubt showed on the face of the Void Will. Of course, it knew of the refuge the Law Breaker had built, which was the busiest place in the Void nowadays, with many Ancient Gods who had fled gathering there.
Even the Void Will had sneakily sent an avatar to browse, but had never been to the marketplace. What would it do there? Did they have anything that could satisfy its needs? What a joke.
Having merged with the Dark Origin, its next target was supposed to be the Ancient Gods at the refuge. Yet now, the Abyssal Big Mouth was telling it that the marketplace was selling Abyss Balls?
Had it really misjudged it? Was the Abyss Ball in the Law Breaker's possession not provided by it?
The Void Will froze in place, possibly to verify the words of the Abyssal Big Mouth.
The Abyssal Big Mouth also fell silent, but a clone it had left in a corner of the marketplace was immediately activated. It found Luther at the fastest speed, shoved two Abyss Balls into his hands, and quickly instructed, “If someone comes to buy Abyss Balls, sell to them, but don't say I gave them to you.”
“Ah? Who are you?” Luther was confused, holding the two marbles that were the Abyss Balls and asking; he did not recognize this clone of the Abyssal Big Mouth.
“Just a passerby,” the Abyssal Big Mouth ran off without looking back.
Luther stood there dumbfounded for a while, then went to find Sisi with the Abyss Balls. This descendant of the Serpent of Misfortune was a true master of social terror, on par with Luther. They had all become quite familiar in this time, with a heap of chaotic and assorted friends. Whenever there was something he didn't understand, one question to Sisi, and he would always find an answer.
“What? Abyss Balls? I know them; they are the quintessence of the skills of Lord Abyss. Why do you ask?” Sisi asked puzzled.
Luther said, “I heard they're a powerful item, and I want to get one.”
“Oh, let me ask around.”
In a short while, Sisi came back and said, “Got it. A human has one; he said it was his ancestor's god's, who traded it with Dimali using some kind of skill tens of thousands of years ago. I also asked Dimali, and Dimali said he got it from Lord Abyss.”
“It's a pity the Ancient God couldn't harness the power of the Abyss and couldn't use it. Eventually, it ended up in that human's ancestor's hands, passed down to this day. You really want it? What will you give in exchange? That is the quintessence of Lord Abyss, after all.”
“Really? What does the human want?” Luther asked.
“He says he wants these,” Sisi flicked out a three-meter-long list.
“Pfft… a house, mount, wife, Gold Coins, healing, enlargement, beauty, life extension, health, Holy Armor… (omission of over six hundred items), and even a good set of teeth; can't believe he could come up with so many demands all at once,” Luther almost spat out a mouthful of old blood.
“He didn't come up with it all at once, he pulled the list out of his pocket; he must have been writing it for a long time,” Sisi said.
“`
“This must be a life checklist, right? Complete these items, and he's a human, his life would be fulfilled. To increase it further? I wouldn't even dare to ask Lord for help,” Luther muttered softly to himself towards the end.
Although there are many demands, none of them hold much value, they're based merely on the needs of ordinary people. They can't compare to the value of an Abyss Ball. Luther said, “Understood, let him go back and wait for the news, I'll hold onto the checklist for now.”
After saying goodbye to Sisi, Luther aimlessly meandered around on purpose, making it 'convenient' for someone to find him. As expected, it wasn't long before an 'ordinary' human stopped him.
“Are you Luther?” The ordinary human scrutinized him.
“No!” Luther declared with conviction, “I am Dragon Pattern Steel Core Mithril Inlay Magic Rune Covered Earth Forged Gemstone Enhanced Piercing Enchantment Two-handed Sword Breaker, Arbitration Sword, Beet Swordsman Luther.”
However, this 'human' didn't seem to get Luther's sense of humor, monotonously repeating, “Okay, Dragon Pattern Steel Core… Luther, I heard you have an Abyss Ball?”
Luther 'froze' for a moment, putting on a surprised face, “An Abyss Ball? You want it? Do you even know what that is? What would a human want with it? Can you even afford it?”
The human said expressionlessly, “I'm asking on behalf of my master, price is no issue.”
Luther eyed him with a mix of skepticism and curiosity before finally saying, “I'll ask around.”
Then he flew up to take a look around and upon seeing a manifestation of Dimali, he called out, “Hey Dimali, come over, there's business.”
Dimali hurried over, about to ask what kind of business it was, but when he spotted the human next to Luther, he tensed up suddenly.
This human had a peculiar aura, and he couldn't see through his strength. No need to think about it, it was definitely some creature's avatar again.
Having spent enough time in this marketplace, Dimali was no stranger to such occurrences. With so many Ancient Gods around, as well as the Iron Scale Cleaners, the Domain Ancient Gods like the Giant Stingray, unless it was one of those Origins, he needn't bother about any avatar's presence.
Dimali put on a smile and greeted warmly, “Oh, hello there, human. May I ask what you need?”
“An Abyss Ball,” the human said.
A thought crossed Dimali's mind. Sisi had just inquired about the Abyss Ball; what a coincidence. So, he replied smoothly, “I do know of an Abyss Ball. Thousands of years ago, Lord Abyss used it to trade with a human god for the techniques to create Holy Spirits, and subsequently, he created the Chaos Holy Spirit Army. As it happens, the descendant of that human god is right here. So, what do you have to trade for the Abyss Ball?”
“What do you want? There's nothing I don't have,” the human stated indifferently, as if he could pluck the entire Void as he pleased.
Dimali felt a pang of apprehension at the demeanor, involuntarily glancing at Luther.
Don't be fooled by Luther's appearance as a mere human; his connections were formidable.
Luther tossed out the three-meter-long checklist Sisi had given him, saying, “Right now, the Abyss Ball is with that descendant of the human god. Fulfill these demands, and the Abyss Ball is yours. They're all simple requests, easy to meet.”
The ordinary human glanced at the checklist, and his face turned dark instantaneously. Asking him to blow up a Plane would be easy, but fulfilling over six hundred demands? He didn't have the time for such nonsense. Sick.
The 'ordinary human' dismissed the offer with a wave of his hand and walked away, leaving Luther and Dimali exchanging glances.
Back in the Plane where Abyssal Big Mouth resided, the voice of Void Will rang out again, “I remember you once traded an Abyss Ball with a human god, right? Have you traded any other Abyss Balls?”
“Sure, many. Sometimes hunters need some equipment, and I'd give them an Abyss Ball, like Swallowed Barriers, and let them make the trade themselves,” Abyssal Big Mouth said.
Void Will spoke apologetically, “Then I may have wrongly accused you. That Abyss Ball from the Law Breaker might not have come from you, but…”
Abyssal Big Mouth exhaled with relief, thinking he had managed to bluff his way through, but then he heard a 'but': “I still need to kill you. The integration with the Dark Origin power failed, and I must borrow your strength for a while.”
