Chapter 1268: Chapter 831: Why Not Just Burn It All Down Chapter 1268: Chapter 831: Why Not Just Burn It All Down Gazing around, the entire world was a mess, with at least a dozen kilometers turned into scorched earth. At the center was a large pit, filled with molten lava that had not yet solidified.
The air above had been pierced with a hole, all clouds evaporated to hundreds of kilometers away.
War Tree Man, Tree Herder, and other Tree People turned their heads in horror at the scene. If they had stayed in their original locations, they would likely be charred by now, the power of the Ancient Black Stone was beyond their imagination.
Negris and others were equally shocked, for they knew exactly how much Black Stone had been used. Could such a terrifying force be caused by such a tiny amount of Black Stone?
He couldn't help but doubt if he had seen wrong and turned to Ange with a question, “How much Black Stone did you just use?”
Ange replied, “Twenty grams.”
Ange's gaze could measure all things, and for a controlled experiment, precise measurement of mass was necessary; otherwise, results from Field One using a hundred pounds of seeds versus Field Two using a hundred twenty pounds would differ significantly.
Previously, due to Divine Power, Ange would only occasionally activate it, but now since Divine Power was no longer a bottleneck, the Ring of Balance was almost always active.
“Pfft–Twenty grams? Such immense power from just twenty grams of Black Stone?” He saw that Ange had used a piece the size of a fingertip, not very voluminous, but still shockingly dense when compared to the accurate weight, about the same as a Goblin Gold Coin.
Goblin Gold Coins were the most stable currency in the Master Plane. Although goblins had a reputation for dishonest commerce, they were unusually devoted to the quality of their currency.
Their coins were always pure gold, each weighing exactly 21.13 grams with a margin of error of only .03 grams. Any coin exceeding this value was certainly either shaved off or counterfeit.
As for why this specific weight, according to the Goblin Trade Guild, it was because their very first coin weighed exactly that much; this first coin set the standard for what they called Standard Gold.
However, you would never see such Standard Gold in the market because if even one was circulating, a merchant would hoard it, either for various financial reserves or to mix with other metals for counterfeiting.
Just twenty grams of Black Stone, yet it released such tremendous energy, was this even plausible?
“Also, this.” Ange first pointed at Little Sapling and then cupped his hands, a dazzling point of light immediately cradling in his palm.
It wasn't just energy being released but also tiny light points transformed by Little Sapling, a type of energy so potent that even Ange could feel replenished, yet invisible to Negris.
“So weird, huh? We can't see it, is it Faith Elemental Force? Can burning stones produce Faith Elemental Force?” Negris wondered.
Ange shook his head, “Higher than that.”
“A force higher than Faith Elemental Force? What kind of power is it? Really strange, should we just burn all these Black Stones then?” Negris suggested.
Ange hadn't spoken yet when Anthony and Durken shouted, “No way, are you mad? What a waste.”
“Why keep it if not to burn it? To pollute everyone's conscience?” Negris remarked.
“Of course, we keep it to burn… um, burn at the right time. This is a super fuel; a tiny piece can release such immense heat. If we lit it all up, wouldn't that be the Ancient Godlight… Could this stuff actually be a remnant of Ancient Godlight?” As Anthony spoke, he couldn't help exclaiming.
Everyone's eyes lit up: “Ancient Black Stone, it's possible. When the Ancient Godlight exploded, not all would have been destroyed. Obviously, some remnants remained, and this could very well be one of them.”
“So that's why the Tree of Ten Thousand Realities had the Tree People search for it, to reignite it to restore balance to the Void?” Negris stated.
“Yes, Tree People, Tree People, go ask them.”
Three War Tree Men were called over, and after a series of questions, a conclusion was reached: they didn't know either.
“I don't know. God of Tree only asked us to find the Ancient Black Stone; he never told me its purpose. How would I know what God of Tree wants it for?” the Tree Herder said with a puzzled look.
Indeed, whatever the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms needed to do, it naturally wouldn't explain too clearly to those Tree People; they wouldn't understand even if it did.
As for whether it was part of the Ancient Godlight, that was even more uncertain; perhaps the Void had always contained a large amount of Ancient Black Stone, but only a portion of the stones had burned to become the Ancient Godlight.
There were still more Ancient Black Stones scattered throughout the Void that hadn't had the chance to burn. If the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms could gather them, perhaps it could create another Ancient Godlight.
The information was too sparse; everything was speculation, so everyone reluctantly dropped the topic and turned the conversation back to the current Ancient Black Stones.
“How do we solve the problem of consciousness contamination?” Negris asked perplexed.
“That's too easy to solve. Just make sure whatever is near it has no consciousness, right?” Anthony and Durken said in unison.
“Pfft–low-level Undead?” Negris said, metaphorically spitting blood.
Low-level Undead had souls but lacked intelligence, acting purely on instinct. Usually, they were considered mindless dead entities, and it was unclear if consciousness contamination would affect low-level Undead.
“Contamination is no big deal, as long as you establish Soul Contact with a lord and place the lord elsewhere. If there's contamination, it will be detected easily; even if it's undetected, low-level puppets can't cause much harm. Throw in a few more guardian constructs, or use Mechanical Puppets instead. Mechanical Puppets don't even have souls, so they can't be contaminated,” Durken added.
“That makes sense, no consciousness, no contamination. Good idea,” Negris remarked appreciatively, as always there are more solutions than difficulties.
“So what do we do now, gather them up?” Negris asked.
“No need, just evacuate the other creatures. These black stones occupy one quarter of the entire plane's volume; consider using this plane as a container for them,” Anthony suggested.
Durken also said, “Later, I'll forge a giant net to trap it and let the Ancient Gods drag it along. When we reach the needed place, we can scoop some out to burn.”
“A net to drag away the entire plane? Can you really forge that?” Negris felt Durken had become a bit grandiose after not seeing him for a while.
“Of course, simply grow some vines from the Elder Tree and the Little Tree,” Durken confidently responded.
Of course, he couldn't forge a net capable of dragging a plane, but with the trees behind him, why worry? Just the roots of the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms woven together would suffice, though vines would be more convenient. We'll just use the Ancient Godlight to guide the Divine Tree to enclose the plane.
Negris felt like spitting blood upon hearing this, “Yeah, can't forge it, but why worry when it grows from the ground?”
Relocating all the creatures of the entire plane was almost an impossible task, but now with a massive Dimensional Space, for Ange, it was simply a piece of cake.
Even the places to resettle them were already prepared, like the three Demon Abysses and the plane inside the Space Passage.
However, after resettling these creatures, Hiludi and Tyrone brought unfortunate news to everyone.
“After our calculations and verification, the distance between the Master Plane and the Chaos Plane is rapidly closing. In a few years or decades, they will collide. Lord, we must find a solution, otherwise, billions of creatures on the Master Plane will perish.”
