Chapter 1259: Chapter 822: You forced it to bloom, that's too much Chapter 1259: Chapter 822: You forced it to bloom, that's too much Negris was momentarily confused, Black Stone was the name of the great extinction event, wasn't it?
When Anthony went to take over the Temple of Doomsday, he had soul transferred the basic data of this Plane to it, but what is Ancient Black Stone? The meteor from the original Black Stone extinction event? Why would I want a meteor?
Luckily, Anthony wasn't around and Ange had run far off, so Negris's IQ was dominating once again.
Here's something quite discouraging, its intelligence transfer aura meant that when there's someone with higher intelligence in range, its own intelligence will partially transfer to that person. It always thought its intelligence transferred to Anthony, but in fact, it never did, it had actually transferred to Ange.
Only when Ange wasn't around would it transfer to Anthony, meaning that Negris always thought the goofy Ange was smarter than both him and Anthony, but it was just that the Dead Skull's intellect was all used in fooling everyone.
So, if the three of them were within the range of the aura, Anthony's intelligence remained unchanged. It's just that Anthony had always been smart from a young age, so it wasn't noticeable.
Only when it was alone did its intelligence return to normal. It didn't say, “Why would I want a meteor?”, but ambiguously said, “Ancient Black Stone? I'm not sure if that's what we're looking for. We came here to find something that could save the Void. What's the purpose of this Ancient Black Stone?”
The War Giant Tree looked up to the sky woefully and said in a deep voice, “Then it must be what you're looking for. The Ancient Black Stone is a fragment resulting from the explosion of the Ancient Godlight. Initially, the God of Tree told us to find it, saying that finding it might save the Void. Unfortunately, we searched everywhere and couldn't find it…”
“Pff– A fragment of the Ancient Godlight? God of Tree said finding it could save the Void?” Negris almost spit out blood in frustration.
“Maybe. God of Tree said it might,” the War Giant Tree corrected meticulously.
“Unfortunately, until the God of Tree withered away, we couldn't find the Ancient Black Stone. In the end, we had to follow nature's guidance, stumbled upon this savage Abyss and gradually transformed it into a habitable Prime Material Plane. Unexpectedly, right after we finished transforming it and began nurturing life, the Black Stone, which we previously couldn't find no matter how hard we tried, suddenly crashed down.”
Upon hearing this, Negris couldn't help interrupting, “What do you mean? Are you saying this was originally an Abyss and you transformed it into the Prime Material Plane? Do you also have the power to transform Master Planes?”
Before the War Giant Tree could respond, a Tree Herder got upset, “What are you implying? Are you looking down on me? I'm a Tree Herder, isn't this exactly what I specialize in? Transforming an Abyss? Are you questioning my expertise?”
“No, no, no, I'm just curious because I also know a Tree Herder named Trent, and he never told me he could transform Abyss Planes,” Negris quickly explained, pulling Trent into the conversation.
“Trent? The inarticulate Trent? He's still alive?” Both Tree People were shocked, overjoyed, and quickly inquired.
“Pfft–Inarticulate? Why does he have that nickname? But it's quite apt. He said he was hungry, and the elves thought he was wailing. Turns out, it was just his unclear speech. Yes, he's alive. He was nearly dead, petrified until only half his face was left, but then we rescued him,” Negris explained.
The two Tree People gave him a sidelong glance, full of disbelief, and the blunt-speaking War Tree Man said, “Apart from the God of Tree, no one can reverse the petrification process. You just chopped off his healthy parts, that's called amputation, not rescuing.”
Negris put his hands on his hips pretentiously, “What if we could reverse it? How about you guys remove the leaves from your heads and become bald Tree People from now on?”
The War Tree Man, not quite grasping Negris's sense of humor but still agreeing readily, responded, “Okay, how do you prove it?”
“You know Trent, go ask him.”
“No, we have a companion who's just been petrified, if you can reverse it, we'll believe you.”
“Oh, your companion was petrified? Why didn't you amputate? Aren't you afraid it might die?” Negris asked puzzled.
The War Tree Man slowly said, “This is a part of nature, and it was his own choice.”
“Alright, alright, but looking back, if it could be reversed, we do charge for that service. First, let's talk about the Black Stone, why did the God of Tree say that the Ancient Black Stone could save the Void?” Negris inquired.
The Tree Herder shook their head: “We also don't know. The God of Tree only told us that the Ancient Black Stone might have the ability to prevent the collapse of the Void, but how to do it specifically might still need to be experimented with, unfortunately…”
Just as he said this, the distant forest suddenly became agitated. A large number of birds surged into the sky, and the trees made a rapid 'sss, sss, sss' sound; all the Tree People immediately looked toward the direction of the noise, paused for a moment, then decisively took large strides toward the source of the commotion.
The War Tree Man said in a deep voice, “It's one of our companions; wait here, we will be back soon.” After speaking, he, along with the Tree Herder, took large strides towards the distance.
Negris noticed that it was exactly in the direction Ange had run off to, and feeling a bad premonition, hurriedly followed and said, “It might be my companion that has caused some misunderstanding. Please stay calm and do not resort to violence rashly.”
“Alright, we won't hurt him,” the War Tree Man said gruffly.
“Phew–I mean, don't resort to violence rashly. I'm afraid he might hurt you, just don't act rashly, otherwise, I can't save you,” Negris solemnly said.
Angering Ange, who if agitated, wouldn't even give them a chance to react as his level was far beyond these Tree People, it would basically be an instant kill.
Just like that person who blocked the way, who was whipped by Ange. Before Negris could react, the individual was gone.
The War Tree Man snorted coldly, about to retort, but then he heard the Tree Herder nervously say, “The forest is in fear, the forest is scared, what has happened?”
Negris pursed his lips, muttering quietly, “What else could it be, you might have attacked a direct offspring of your God of Tree. Just the appearance of Little Sapling has frightened you to death.”
By the time everyone arrived, indeed, they saw Little Sapling waving True Leaf to and fro, emitting 'Ao– Ao– Ao–' the intimidating message to the trees.
“Damn, since when did Little Sapling learn to speak Aoao language?” Negris felt awful.
The nearby flowers, plants, and Elf Tree People also felt terrible; they couldn't help but kneel down, trembling. Had they just offended a Void Tree and its elf? Oh God, it wasn't intentional.
However, Ange paid them no mind, tilting his head with a puzzled look at a Tree Man in the middle, a Tree Man whose body was half petrified.
Negris quickly flew to Ange's side and asked, “What happened?”
Ange pointed at the Petrified Tree Man and said, “Its seeds, strange.”
The Petrified Tree Man angrily said, “You're strange! Picking my seeds without reason, it's an insult, even if you are an elf of the Void Tree, that is too rude.”
Ange, somewhat bewildered, scratched his head. Just plucking some seeds, why was it rude?
The War Tree Man and Tree Herder also hurried back, and after communicating with the Petrified Giant, they too were enraged, turning around and scolding, “You went too far, using Time Magic to speed up its growth, forcing it to blossom. That's forced reproduction, totally disgraceful.”
