Chapter 1256: Chapter 819: Did They All Come Out Like This? Chapter 1256: Chapter 819: Did They All Come Out Like This? The Monarch was anchored in position, so he could only use avatars to leave here, but Ange was anchored by the Undead Godhood, his main body could leave whenever he wanted. This was also the reason why the Monarch had been urging Locke to come over quickly. Alas, Locke was unreliable and simply couldn't withstand the chains of anchorage.
Upon returning to the sanctuary, everyone saw the cause of the chaos. The airspace around the sanctuary, for some unknown reason, had a large amount of debris floating around, including broken rocks, floating fragments, solid ice, and molten lava.
“What happened? Why are there so many items? It looks like a plane has been shattered,” Negris asked in confusion.
“Indeed, it's a shattered plane. My lord, please look,” a female human dressed as a saintess pushed forward a large block of ice, placing her hand on it and releasing a radiant holy light.
Negris looked at her, surprised, “Are you that little slave girl from the Blood-colored Abyss? When did you learn these Divine Arts?”
Before the human slave girl could reply, Anthony grandly said, “Those who believe in our Lord, bestow Holy Light.”
The human slave girl devoutly continued, “The Holy Light lives on, and Libra endures.”
After finishing, she turned to Negris and said, “Yes, Lord Negris, once a demon's slave, now a devout follower of our Lord, Elsa.”
Well, it was that Godman's doing again, but that's alright. Divine Arts are powers learned quickly. Other powers take time, but Divine Arts only require firm belief.
Giving an ordinary human slave girl the ability to survive in the Void, Divine Arts was the fastest way, and it seems she even mastered the Undead Holy Light, with her talents in Divine Arts perfected.
Holy Light Technique, this basic Divine Art, doesn't need to borrow Ange's power at all. Elsa's own spiritual power is sufficient to execute it, a testament to her rapid improvement.
Under the light, the items inside the ice block became visible, revealing the bodies of two humans, an adult tightly holding a child, seemingly trying to protect the child, but both drowned and then frozen in the ice.
Besides this, there were several household items and home appliances, seemingly from a home and frozen in place.
“Why is there a shattered plane? Who shattered it? Moreover, it drifted in from the periphery. Did something happen outside the Chaos Plane?” Negris asked with ongoing confusion.
Elsa replied, “Some have gone to investigate. We don't know yet who shattered it, but I heard there are many plane shards.”
Negris turned to Anthony, asking, “What could it be?”
Anthony shook his head, “How would I know? It's either blown apart by an Ancient God or torn by some natural phenomenon. What I really want to know is why they ended up here. Did shattered planes used to drift into the Chaos Plane?”
“Could it be a collapse of the Void that tore them apart?” Negris speculated.
“I thought so initially as well, but the timing doesn't line up. Considering the nearest plane, even with a Titan's Thunder Chariot, it would take two to three hundred years to fly here. These powerless shards drifting slowly would be even slower, which means, they likely shattered hundreds of years ago, not necessarily due to the Void collapsing.”
“If it's due to the Void collapsing, then the problem is serious,” Anthony said gravely.
“What do you mean?” Negris asked, puzzled.
“Do you remember what Tyrone said, about the Void contracting?” Anthony asked.
Negris was shocked, “The Void contracting, causing planes from centuries away to drift here?”
“Perhaps their shattering was caused by the contraction of the Void too. The contraction of the Void could cause planes far away to collide with one another, just like how the Resting Abyss hit the Light Sea Plane,” Anthony explained.
Upon hearing this, Negris could hardly contain himself and said, “Let's go and check it out. If that's the case, the Master Plane is in trouble.”
Everyone boarded the Super Speed Snail and instantly flew out.
These plane shards all drifted in from the Void beyond the Chaos Plane, varying in size and shape, containing various kinds of rocks, as well as massive amounts of fragmented plants, corpses, and buildings.
Watching this tragic sight, Anthony couldn't help but furrow his brows, “It looks to be a plane with a large population. I wonder if it's the Master Plane; if so, many lives would have perished.”
The Master Plane, being balanced in elements, can foster life autonomously, so the number of living creatures is extraordinarily high. They come from a Master Plane that has billions of humans, tens of millions of elves, millions of dwarves, and a vast number of animals, livestock, and insects, which are countless.
By contrast, the Abyss Plane, due to unbalanced elements, has great difficulty maintaining its ecological chain, hosting fewer creatures that can survive there. Even the Light Sea Plane, by comparison, harbors far fewer lives than the Master Plane.
The destruction of any master plane is a catastrophe for life.
Flying forward like this, they suddenly saw a bunch of humanoid creatures on a giant ice block, all dressed in vests with silver coin patterns; their equipment and the airship they were driving all bore similar designs.
“Commerce Guild of the Silver Coin?” Negris exclaimed, gesturing for the Super Speed Snail to move closer and asking the leader, “What are you doing?”
Naturally, the people of the Silver Coin all knew who 'the Little Yellow Dragon with squinty eyes' was and hurriedly answered, “Lord of Knowledge, we are collecting corpses.”
“How are you collecting them? Do you have to chisel the ice block open? Isn't that a huge task? Who told you to do this? Did anyone assign manpower to help you?” Negris asked, curious.
The Silver Coin was still in Ange's dimensional space, not in the shelter, so it wasn't a task assigned by him. Who was assigning tasks, and how did they already have someone designated to collect the corpses so quickly?
“Ah? Can't we do this? We are specifically in charge of funerals–the Department of Life Funerals. Our main task is to collect corpses and give them a dignified funeral, also checking to see if there are any gestating souls. If there are, we help them reincarnate; if not, we conduct the funeral then quietly dig them out after they have set. We weren't aware that we couldn't collect these bodies,” the leader said somewhat flustered.
“No, no, there is no restriction on collecting; I was just curious. I was worried that it might be too hard on you. Didn't anyone come to assist you?” Negris quickly reassured.
The leader let out a sigh of relief and said, “Yes, we have applied for the aid of the Water Element Lord…”
Just as he said this, the ice block gently shuddered, and piles of broken ice emerged from the ground, gently nudging stiff corpses out, doing so very softly and skillfully, ensuring the rigid bodies were undamaged as they broke free from the ice.
This familiar scene immediately reminded everyone of that Water Element with the redemption rune.
When the Water Element emerged, everyone looked and sure enough, it was it. However, as soon as it saw Ange, the Water Element swooshed back into the ice, clutching its head.
“What does that head clutching mean at the end? Was it afraid we'd hit it?” Negris said, somewhat indignantly, after they left.
Wasn't it just that it had been beaten up before? The fact that it saw everyone and immediately ducked was outrageous. It even had the rune of redemption, yet it couldn't even greet the Master God.
Anthony was more focused on another matter, remarking admiringly, “The organizational capability of the Silver Coin is really impressive, even arranging funerals. If it had assisted me back then, the Church of Light would never have been an issue. With me and the Silver Coin, we would have dominated inter-plane rivalry.”
Anthony was adept at conspiracies and manipulating people, but inter-plane rivalry required organizational production capability, an area in which he was significantly inferior to the Silver Coin.
What was even more impressive was that independent departments could operate on their own. Even without the Silver Coin, they could still take the initiative to do what was right and actively ask for support from other departments.
The leader didn't seem particularly wise, making ordinary people utilize their capabilities–which was more challenging than making a genius do the right thing, as it required a good system.
Anthony knew all too well the difficulty of that; the Church's inflated departments, not dragging their feet was already quite good; they couldn't be expected to take initiative unless there was money involved.
If the Silver Coin had assisted him back in the master plane, he wouldn't have needed to infiltrate the Church and become an Archbishop; he could have developed his own force and pushed the Church aside.
Unfortunately, they had already passed that stage; in a chaotic world, strength was most important. A thousand Anthony's schemes, a thousand Silver Coin's organizational capabilities, couldn't match the Primordial God–it was just too boring.
“Hey, is that a master plane in front? A complete master plane? Has a complete master plane drifted over here?” Negris suddenly pointed toward the void ahead and exclaimed.
Anthony's eyes widened, seeing only black void and scattered debris. He then looked towards Ange, who was also intently watching ahead; clearly, there was something there.
This puzzled him, and he asked, “Lord Nage, what do you see? How can you see so far?”
“Meld your consciousness body,” Negris turned to say, his eyes indeed twinkling with multicolored light.
Anthony quickly merged with his consciousness body, and instantly, the entire void changed. The pitch-black void gained 'dotted lines,' these lines undulating in the darkness, outlining a multitude of things previously invisible.
Like the thickness of the void, its undulations, its concavities, its folds, and so on, making the pitch-black void gain dimension.
In the void right in front of them, a massive clump of 'dotted lines' compressed, forming a circular outline–undoubtedly, there was a huge object there, capable of warping the void.
However, not far from this sphere, there was an object about one-fiftieth the size, slowly drifting towards the sphere. At this rate, it wouldn't be long before the two objects collided.
“Were all those previous plane fragments created from such collisions?”
