Chapter 1248: 811 Chapter 1248: 811 With that confusion, everyone slowly approached the Void Inscription.
Floating along, Ange cocked his head and suddenly reached into the Dimensional Space, pulling out a Tree Herder.
“Hey, old tree, you're awake?” Negris was startled. Ever since the old tree had been grafted onto the core of the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms, there had been no movement, and now even it was popping out.
The old tree said leisurely, “Little Tree said it sensed the presence of its progenitor.”
“Where? Is it a twig? Or the core?” Having harvested the twigs of the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms multiple times and even obtained its roots and core, a few more branches wouldn't make much difference.
Even if you had many branches, you needed to root or graft them to grow them successfully; that was the real challenge. And with the World Tree, one was enough; more were pointless.
By now, Ange already had three.
No one answered the question because they also didn't know what it was.
However, as they got closer, Ange suddenly raised his hand.
There were no outsiders here, just people who knew exactly what Ange wanted with a single droop of his head. Everyone halted immediately and got ready.
Ange floated forward a few body lengths and stomped his foot a few times, but nothing changed.
He patted the Little Sapling's head and pointed forward.
Little Sapling swung the True Leaf, sending out an enthusiastic message: “Grow hard–grow long–grow hard–grow long–”
With the Little Sapling's message, a world starkly different from ours manifested around the center of the Void Inscription.
“Hey! Divine Realm?” Negris exclaimed in surprise.
In Godfall Town, Ange had obtained the Divine Realm of the Goddess of War and Peace. Once he stomped his foot, the Divine Realm would appear.
The different world before them was clearly more magical than the Goddess of War and Peace's Divine Realm, yet their ways of existence were nearly identical.
As Ange was about to step into that Divine Realm, Anthony grabbed him: “My lord, let me go in first.”
Ange tilted his head in confusion.
Negris understood why; Anthony didn't want Ange to take the risk since Ange was the core of their group, but…
“You going in first isn't reliable. With your little ability, you might be overwhelmed when Ange feels there's no danger. It's better to find something expendable to scout ahead.”
No sooner had Negris finished speaking than he noticed everyone's eyes were on him.
“I was referring to expendable things like wandering spirits, ghosts, and the like! My body is very valuable, very much so!” Negris said, indignant.
Ange released a ghost and sent it into the Divine Realm, while with one hand, he simulated for everyone what he saw through the ghost's perspective.
The wandering soul entered the Divine Realm, and what came into view was a splash of colorful lights, which outlined a vast tree.
“This… Is this the legendary colorful blackness? Is that… the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms? So small?” Negris exclaimed in shock at the manifested scenery, murmuring to himself.
The tree defined by the light was a colossal tree, tens of thousands of meters tall, standing at the very center of the Divine Realm, surrounded by colorful lights in the shapes of various animals and plants.
All sorts of light-formed beings were moving beneath the tree's shade, growing, and reproducing, but as soon as they left the range of the shadow, they would instantly turn to flying ash.
The wandering soul quickly approached the shade of the tree and touched one of the light creatures, his hand passing through the light without impediment, leaving a trace on its outline. However, the marks quickly restored themselves, with no harm done to the creature's outline.
These vibrant beings, made only of outlines of light, seemed unable to perceive the existence of the wandering soul. They carried on moving in their original trajectories, living, and multiplying, before turning into flying ash as they touched the edge of the shade.
The wandering soul too ran to the edge of the shade and wandered back and forth in the place where they turned to ash, but nothing happened. It seemed that the environment here caused no harm to the soul.
Ange released another seventeen or eighteen wandering souls, which roamed all over without any harm befalling them, and then everyone felt reassured and entered the Divine Realm.
“Wow! Even more magnificent than its manifestation!” Anthony exclaimed in astonishment.
Although Negris complained of the tree's small size, that was relative to the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms. With hundreds of thousands of meters in height, the tree was more like a mountain.
The light-formed beings couldn't sense the soul's presence, but they could respond to the Little Sapling and the God of Life. From the moment they entered the tree's shade, a few small creatures began to approach.
A light-formed deer hopped over to the God of Life, bowing its head forward as if to nod in greeting, startling Negris, “It's bowing to you? Can it see you? Is it that polite?”
The God of Life was somewhat at a loss, having never made contact with these light-formed beings and unsure how to respond. After hearing Negris' words, it said slowly, “A deer in the wild bows its head to show its antlers, which is a sign of aggression.”
“Ah? It's a sign of aggression?” Anthony covered his face and spoke, “I too thought it was a greeting. When the curia holds celebrations, they often bring in some deer that bow to the crowds as they parade, showing off the deer's spirituality under the Holy Light. The faithful also enthusiastically toss them food, but it's not because they are spiritual; it's because they are annoyed and want to attack?”
Negris had a realization: “So does it want to attack you now?”
The God of Life spoke languidly, “I was referring to wild deer; this deer is paying homage to me.”
“Pfft–Old Tree, you're becoming more and more sly, even learning to mislead people now,” Negris blurted out, almost as if spitting up blood.
The good-natured Old Tree of the past; how had it changed into this now?
The God of Life stretched out its hand, attempting to stroke the light-formed deer, but as soon as it touched it, part of the deer's outline was erased. This left the God of Life awkwardly frozen in place.
The deer didn't mind having its outline erased at all, sniffing the God of Life's hand once before turning around and hopping away.
Negris, surprised, noted, “Its butt is heart-shaped!”
More little creatures came over in succession. Watching the lively light-formed animals, Negris wanted to touch them but hesitated to reach out, and couldn't help asking, “What is this place, exactly?”
A distant voice responded, “This is the consciousness space of the God of Tree; it has been a long time since any creatures have come here. Who are you?”
Everyone looked up in the direction the voice had come from. They saw the bouncing deer leading the way, followed by a slender, elegantly-maned unicorn that was beautiful even in its splotchy state of light.
Consciousness Space? Everyone's eyes lit up, and Ange tilted his head curiously.
