Chapter 1237: Chapter 800 They Changed Chapter 1237: Chapter 800 They Changed After beating up the human-shaped monster, Abyssal Big Mouth finally spoke, “Here's the deal, the Undead Ruler and those Lawbreakers have the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms and the Ancient Godlight. They want to team up with me to kill the Void Will. I can't make up my mind; you have a good head on your shoulders, help me think this through.”
The human-shaped monster, covering his swollen eye, muttered, “Can't make up your mind? You just want me to shore up your resolve. If I say don't take the risk, you'll definitely beat me up again.”
“What are you muttering about? Did you hear me? Analyze the situation for me,” Big Mouth scolded, hitting the monster on the head again, which caused the other monsters to shiver and run far away in fear.
“I should've known.” The monster grimaced, then said, “Since this is the plan of the Undead Ruler and the Lawbreakers, they must have a strategy. What exactly is it?”
Abyssal Big Mouth shook his head, “They don't seem to have one yet. They don't even seem to know much, not even who the Void Will is. I have no idea how they became Lawbreakers.”
The beast gaped in shock for a while, then murmured, “Maybe it's precisely because they don't know that they can be Lawbreakers. Ignorance makes them fearless. If they had known the identity of the Void Will earlier, how would they dare to defy its will? Damn, could 'not knowing' be the key to becoming a Lawbreaker?”
“Ah? Ignorance is the key? Seems like it. I've known the identity of the Void Will from the start, so I never dared entertain the thought of killing it. If it weren't for those Lawbreakers egging me on, I wouldn't even be considering it. It's all their fault,” mused Abyssal Big Mouth, lost in thought.
The human-shaped monster curled his lip and continued, “Ignorance indeed breeds fearlessness, but it also leads to overestimating oneself. If they don't even have a plan, the chances of success are too low.”
“But they have the Ancient Godlight and the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms,” Big Mouth pointed out.
The monster, unable to resist plucking his own fur, seemed somewhat frenzied, “With those, they're practically invincible. As long as they're not destroyed by the Void Will on the spot, even if the Void collapses into the Period of Desolation, they could use the Ancient Godlight and the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms to rebuild a new world.”
“Exactly, our best outcome is to keep you gluttons fed and see whether you'll die before the Period of Desolation ends or not,” said Abyssal Big Mouth.
The monster couldn't resist plucking his own fur again, “Hearing you say that, I'm not so sure where I stand anymore. Wait, let me think.”
After pondering for a while, the human-shaped monster slowly said, “If we can't kill the Void Will, we'll definitely suffer its retaliation. So the question is, how do we prevent the Void Will's backlash and increase our gains, which means shifting the blame and seizing the credit.”
“We can't take the lead on this matter, at most we can covertly cooperate, and even if it fails, we can't come out empty-handed. We want one of the Ancient Godlight or the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms, preferably the Ancient Godlight. Without it, the Tree can't grow, but with the Godlight, we can plant something else.”
“That's what I was thinking too. But how do we cooperate without giving ourselves away? Can they even kill the Void Will with their power?” queried Abyssal Big Mouth.
“You can't kill it either, unless you find a way to defy the Laws of the Void. We could provide them with information, tell them the Void Will's weaknesses. For instance, we could start by telling them that the Void Will is the Ancient Godlight.”
“Uh, I've already told them that,” confessed Abyssal Big Mouth.
“What did you exchange for that information?” the monster inquired.
“Didn't exchange anything. It's just a piece of information, no need to exchange anything for that, right? It's just to gain their trust. They said they wouldn't give me time to consider unless I shared some information,” Big Mouth explained.
The monster immediately saw the problem, “You've been had, this is troublesome. Those Lawbreakers are very cunning, they might not act as we expect. It seems we will have to offer something they cannot refuse.”
While Abyssal Big Mouth was pondering what was an irresistible offer, Ange had already returned to his own rhythm, methodically conducting his comparative experiments.
He repeatedly let the Liquid of Chaos seep through his palm, transforming into specks of light before dripping down.
During this process, he continually measured the mass of the Liquid of Chaos to see if it decreased while passing through his palm. If so, it meant that some of it remained inside the palm; understanding this could potentially unlock the secret of the Liquid of Chaos.
Monarch Griss, seeing the Ring of Balance flash behind Ange, couldn't help but ask curiously, “What is Ange doing? Why does that ring look so familiar?”
Negris, tail aloft, said, “Familiar, right? That's the Ring of Balance, a gracious gift from the God of Equality and Balance.”
“Gracious? Since when are the folks from the Church of Light kind? Maybe little Redeemer, but not Libra. Did you kill them for it?” Monarch immediately saw through Negris's nonsense.
There was a pause before Monarch asked again, “So what's Ange doing with the Ring of Balance?”
“Measuring stuff,” Negris said.
“Measuring stuff? Using the Ring of Balance to measure things?” Monarch spat out a Breath of Death in astonishment. He didn't hold the Gods of Light in high regard, but using the Ring of Balance to measure was just too bizarre!
“It's useful for measuring everything, quick and accurate. Without this measuring ability, such comparative experiments would be impossible,” Negris explained proudly.
The Liquid of Chaos was in a very peculiar state; it was liquid but difficult to quantify its weight. It could disperse, sublime, and permeate any substance it came into contact with. Placed on a scale, its mass could change from one second to the next, making it impossible to measure with a regular balance.
Without accurate and immediate measurement of its changes, Ange's comparative experiments could not even begin. If he didn't know how much was lost, how could he compare?
After listening to the explanation, Monarch remarked, “It's indeed the most suitable usage. Using the Ring of Balance for measuring is an interesting twist. Hehe, and there's more fun to be had. Have you heard of the Instant Death Halo? Do you know the best way to utilize it?” Negris inquired.
“Instant Death Halo? Who has awakened the Instant Death Halo? How else to use it but to hasten death?” Monarch replied.
“Hehe, Ange uses it like this…” Negris bragged smugly, deciding to reveal all of Ange's clever tricks to shock Old Immortal for an entire year.
Just then, Ange suddenly raised his left hand and declared, “They've changed.”
