Chapter 1235: Chapter 798 It seems not impossible… Chapter 1235: Chapter 798 It seems not impossible… The marketplace at the shelter had grown ever larger, and with an increasing number of stalls, a secondary market had opened. The trading demands of ordinary creatures were stronger than those of the Ancient Gods, as they were the main force of the marketplace. However, unable to afford the stall fee of ten Elf Beans, they had no choice but to set up a separate venue.
In a vast expanse of the Void, various airships, war chariots, mounts, or towed platforms, either floating or locked in fixed areas, formed individual stalls.
The goods traded here could be clothes, shoes, hats, cooking oil, soy sauce, vinegar, pots, pans, staples, vegetables, and the like–items that the Ancient Gods did not need but were indispensable for ordinary creatures.
Thus, the Abyssal Big Mouth decisively abandoned the original marketplace and threw itself into this secondary market. The items sold by the Ancient Gods did not appeal to it; it was necessities like food and cloth that it sought.
“Foolish Giant Beast, the Void is about to be destroyed, yet you're still exchanging those meaningless things. In the collapsing Void, consciousness is the only eternal and indestructible element,” the Abyssal Big Mouth murmured to itself as it busily swapped for various essential supplies.
Suddenly, a Holy Spirit Angel who had been standing guard nearby approached, and a voice emanated from it, “Big Mouth, why is consciousness the only eternal and indestructible element?”
The Abyssal Big Mouth glanced at the Holy Spirit Angel. It had once commanded a Chaos Holy Spirit Army, but after sending them out, they never returned, so it immediately noticed something odd about this Holy Spirit Angel.
This was not a real Angel, but rather an Undead creature clad in flesh.
There was only one entity capable of projecting its thoughts onto this Holy Spirit Angel, and on top of that, would cheekily call it Big Mouth–it was none other than the Brass Embryo Dragon, which never seemed to grow.
Now accustomed to the moniker, the Abyssal Big Mouth was no longer as enraged as before, and it replied irritably, “The Third Law of the Void–consciousness cannot be destroyed.”
The Holy Spirit Angel rubbed its hands in a manner completely incongruous with its appearance and said, “That's not right. If I chop someone up, isn't their consciousness destroyed? How can it be that consciousness cannot be destroyed?”
The Abyssal Big Mouth rolled its eyes. Here at the marketplace, it had learned nothing else, but it had picked up swearing and eye-rolling quite well. “Let's use the Undead creature you're possessing as an example. If you were killed and then reincarnated as an Undead creature, do you think your consciousness is destroyed?”
“Not destroyed? Many Undead creatures don't even have memories of their previous lives, and only a very small fraction retain their former memories,” Negris said in surprise.
“That's memory. Only the memory is destroyed, not the consciousness–or at least, not the kind of consciousness you understand,” the Abyssal Big Mouth said with annoyance, feeling like talking to such a low-level species lacking understanding was a waste of breath.
Negris, picking up on the contempt in the Abyssal Big Mouth's tone, still asked, “What if, hypothetically, a certain liquid were dropped on a stone and then the stone began to emit a sensation of 'I am about to split open'? Does the stone inherently possess consciousness or are we bestowing consciousness upon it?”
The Abyssal Big Mouth exclaimed indignantly, “Such a thing qualifies as the actions of a Law Breaker. You've violated the First Law of the Void. Don't let me catch your true form. I will slowly chew you to bits in my mouth.”
It was precisely because they had defied the Laws of the Void that they were now hunted on the orders of the Void Will. Those damned Law Breakers, not only did they have the power to violate the Laws of the Void, but they also dared to flaunt it before it, infuriating the Abyssal Big Mouth.
Negris, feeling cheerfully at ease, asked lightly, “So does that mean, if we find a way, consciousness could be destroyed? Since we've already defied the First Law, defying the Third Law isn't such a big deal, is it?”
The Abyssal Big Mouth stated, “You didn't come here to show off your ability to violate the Laws of the Void, did you? Spit it out, what do you want?”
“Well, the situation is like this. If we were to find the Ancient Godlight, would you be willing to join us in the fight against the Void Will?” Negris inquired.
“What?!” The Abyssal Big Mouth exclaimed instinctively, causing surrounding creatures at their stalls to look over in its direction.
The Abyssal Big Mouth quickly grabbed the Holy Spirit Angel and pulled it into a secluded corner, where it erected a Boundary and then whispered, “What did you just say? You've found the Ancient Godlight? What do you mean 'found'? The Ancient Godlight has been shattered; where did you find it?”
“Never mind where we found it, if we have the Ancient Godlight and the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms, would you be willing to join us in the fight against the Void Will?” Negris asked eagerly.
Abyssal Big Mouth didn't outright reject the proposal, which was enough to thrill Negris; from Abyssal Big Mouth's reaction, it seemed that the idea of “dealing with Void Will” wasn't repulsive to it. Its main question was how they managed to find the Ancient Godlight.
The Chaos Plane had long suffered under the tyranny of Void Will…
Abyssal Big Mouth pondered for a long time before finally saying, “Prove it to me, and then we'll talk about the rest.”
The avatar of Abyssal Big Mouth was tightly bound by the Holy Shroud, wrapped up securely. Ange rode the Super Speed Snail at top speed to make a return trip, fetching the avatar back to the Monarch's Domain.
Anthony had originally wanted to find somewhere else to show Abyssal Big Mouth these things, to prevent Abyssal Big Mouth from revealing the news and location to Void Will after seeing them and perhaps drawing it in.
But he was promptly dismissed by a wave of the Monarch's hand, “Let them come. If these two things can lure them out, that would be perfect.”
Hearing such a domineering statement, Anthony realized the Undead Ruler was now the major villain of the Chaos Plane. It wasn't about him hiding from others but others hiding from him.
Rubbing his hands eagerly, Anthony said, “I suddenly feel bold and want to stir things up, what should I do? Why not lure all those Primordial Gods and slaughter them?”
“Sure, sure, let's do just that.” The Monarch immediately agreed; he had wanted to do the same all along. However, just as Abyssal Big Mouth couldn't catch Ange, he couldn't catch those Primordial Gods either.
Like the Dark Origin he pursued before, it was also just an avatar; even if killed, the main body wouldn't be hurt.
When Abyssal Big Mouth's avatar was brought back to the platform and the Holy Shroud unwrapped, its consciousness immediately projected over. First, it curiously glanced at the Holy Shroud, “What kind of fabric is this? It can actually shield my consciousness. Sell me some later.”
“You can have it, but what would you use it for?” Negris asked.
“To shield consciousness projection from the Origin? I could buy it and use it to line my bed,” Abyssal Big Mouth retorted irritably.
Such a treasure, as long as you're willing to sell, there will be a crowd keen to buy. It's just like asking ordinary people what they need money for, completely nonsensical.
Ange lifted the black cloth, revealing the Ancient Godlight and the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms.
“Woah–It's really Ancient Godlight. Have you sealed it? How did you manage that? Why is the Ancient Godlight so small? Where did you find it? But it's a bit strange, it's incomplete. Why isn't it whole? Is it because it's sealed? Is it just light?”
Abyssal Big Mouth emitted a strange noise, similar to humans inhaling sharply, except its mouth was probably bigger, making a whooshing sound as it did so.
Ange quickly covered the black cloth again, cutting off Abyssal Big Mouth's view.
Taking a deep breath, Abyssal Big Mouth said, “Give me a piece of sealed Ancient Godlight like this, and I will tell you everything about Void Will. Hey, hey, hey, what are you doing? Stop, stop, let's talk nicely!!”
Ange started wrapping the Holy Shroud around Abyssal Big Mouth's avatar, signaling an end to the meeting. At the same time, Negris said, “What's there to talk about? You have no sincerity; we're no longer interested in the deal, and we'll send you back.”
Abyssal Big Mouth hunched its head, dodging the Holy Shroud, clamoring, “Let's talk nicely, what do you want me to do?”
“Join us in taking down Void Will.”
Abyssal Big Mouth sneered, “Take down Void Will? Haha, have you forgotten what the Third Law of the Void is? Consciousness cannot be destroyed… destroyed, but since you're Law Breakers, maybe it's not impossible…”
