Chapter 1226: Chapter 789: Did I Understand Wrong? Chapter 1226: Chapter 789: Did I Understand Wrong? “Undead Holy Light,” Ange said.
“Undead? Holy Light?” How odd, the Monarch wondered, can Undead and Holy Light really be combined?
But the strangeness of the name wasn't important; what mattered was the effect. The dry Little Sapling, bathed in the light of the Undead Holy Light, was slowly beginning to unfurl.
The scene left the Monarch stunned. He glanced at the focused Ange and then turned to Negris.
Negris, with her little tail held high, boastfully said, “Haven't seen it, have you? Magical, isn't it? Back from the dead, impressive huh? Later, let Ange shine it on you, maybe you'll grow some flesh.”
“There's no need for that, but it is indeed magical. The Divine Power System can do things outsiders can't understand. I was originally going to suggest transplanting the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms here, but if the original sapling can be revived, that's even better,” the Monarch commented.
Anthony stepped forward to interject, “Your Majesty, you previously told us that we do not understand the detailed structure of the Chaos Plane. May I ask Your Majesty to explain the specific structure in detail?”
The Monarch was reminded of this by Anthony's question and pointed to the ground beneath his feet, “This is the world I created. Most of the things here were manifested by me. I can create worlds; can other Origins create worlds?”
“In the Chaos Plane, there are actually many Divine Realms with different rules… Divine Realm is a bit of an earthy term, but it's the most appropriate name. However, on your way here, have you seen other Divine Realms? Space Passages, Spatial Bubbles, Dimensional Spaces?”
Everyone shook their heads. Were there many? They hadn't noticed at all.
“That's because, you see, this Void isn't empty; it's made up of countless Divine Realms, Dimensions, and independent Spatial Bubbles stacked together. You can't see them, but you can see this place and come in directly because I anchored it in the Void,” the Monarch explained.
“Why anchor it here?” asked Anthony, puzzled. “If it could be in a different Dimension like a Spatial Bubble or Space Passage, wouldn't it be much more concealed?”
“Only in the uppermost layer of the Void can the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms grow. Without the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms, those chaotic Space Dimensions wouldn't be sustainable. Eventually, all the spaces would pile up and crash together like bubbles, bursting and obliterating at the central point.”
Negris slapped his thigh with a sudden realization and said, “So that's why it's called the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms, right? The tree that supports ten thousand realms.”
The Monarch nodded, “If these spaces are bubbles, then the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms is the column supporting these bubbles. Ancient Godlight is the source of all power, but one day, the Ancient Godlight burst, and the Chaos Plane lost its source of power, and the Divine Tree no longer grew; the Void began to collapse.”
“According to the information I've gathered, the collapse of the Void has been temporarily delayed by the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms. I need to replant a Tree of Ten Thousand Realms anew, replicating the original process to temporarily delay the collapse of the Void.”
“But these are all temporary measures. The Tree of Ten Thousand Realms alone isn't enough to balance the Void. We also need to find a way to rebirth the Ancient Godlight to maintain the balance of the Void for a longer time.”
Hearing this, Negris and Anthony exchanged glances and asked, “How can the Ancient Godlight be reborn?”
The Monarch scratched his head in distress, “I don't know, I have no clue at all. With the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms, at least I know to start by finding a sprout or seed. I was lucky to find the last remaining sprout. But the Ancient Godlight, does it have a sprout or a seed? If we could just plant a seed and it would grow, that would be wonderful.”
Negris and Anthony looked at each other, “Would this count as a seed?”
Anthony turned to Ange and said, “Lord, let's take a speck of light out and study it with His Majesty.”
Ange nodded; he had just thought about taking out a speck of light because the growth of the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms required the illumination of light specks.
He reached into the space, and a dazzling light speck appeared in the middle of the platform, its intense light casting the platform as bright as daylight.
Ange immediately took out a piece of black cloth, covered the light speck with it, revealing only the lower half. In this way, the light would shine downward, directly onto the withered sapling.
This withered sapling originally looked a bit scorched on the outside, clearly having been affected by the Dark Origin during a burning incident, but the reason it had withered was not because of flames, but rather a lack of “nourishment.”
Fifty thousand years had passed, and although the Monarch found it still alive at the time, it was a sapling that had barely clung to life for fifty thousand years, its Life Force completely exhausted. The Monarch had no idea what kind of fertilizer to water it with.
According to conventional methods, he had sprinkled nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium all over it, but the sapling showed no change, continuing to wither.
Over these years, he had slain so many Ancient Gods, grappling not only their power but also their memories. Synthesizing these memories, the Monarch concluded that the tree either needed a strong Life Force or it needed Ancient Godlight.
“So I went and captured those Ancient Gods, killed them here to provide it with Life Force, but still there was no change. I suspected that these Gods were too low-level to offer 'strong' Life Force, so I had to find a way to capture an Abyssal Big Mouth or Dark Origin, one of the Primordial Gods, to chop up for it to see.”
“But unexpectedly, a tide came, and when I went out to look around, the Dark Origin seized the opportunity and came forth, burning my fields and killing the sapling.” The Monarch said with regret.
Negris and Anthony had a dumbfounded expression: “Your Majesty, is this your understanding of 'strong' Life Force?”
“Ah? Isn't that the right understanding?” The Monarch was surprised.
Negris said irritably, “Although I don't know the situation with the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms, judging from the World Tree, a strong Life Force should refer to vigorous growth, flourishing vibrantly, bursting with vitality, and a state where all things thrive.”
“If a grassland were to spontaneously emerge here, it could provide the World Tree with a strong Life Force. I don't know the situation with the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms, but it's definitely not what you think of capturing Ancient Gods to chop.”
The Monarch was stunned: “Did I understand it wrong?”
Was it so? He didn't know; he had never grown a World Tree.
However, even those who had grown one didn't know; Elves didn't realize that the growth of the World Tree required strong Life Force and even deliberately cleared away the nearby weeds and trees during planting, almost killing the World Tree.
This counterintuitive approach was indeed baffling.
Just then, the Monarch suddenly looked down at the ground, and the others followed suit. At some point, Chaos Mist had begun to flow in along the ground from the perimeter, reaching the height of their ankles, and from all around, it gathered toward the center of the platform.
There, beneath a piece of black cloth, a light speck was continuously pouring its light onto the ground.
Negris expressed his surprise, “What's going on? The light seems to be attracting the Chaos Mist?”
