Chapter 1223: Chapter 787: When You See a Spiritual Body… Run! Chapter 1223: Chapter 787: When You See a Spiritual Body… Run! “Indeed, Lord Little Fat Dragon, all of us Honey Elves possess the ability to sense each other intrinsically; by concentrating, everyone can grasp my thoughts,” Lofty said as she gathered all lines into a point and flicked them lightly, sending the invisible waves spreading out.
Negris scowled, “Just call me Negris, what's with all this 'Little Fat Dragon'? That's really rude.” Then he asked again, “Is that it?”
“Yes, Lord Negris, now we just wait for everyone's response,” Lofty replied.
“How long will the response take? We don't have time to hang around here. If they wish to serve the God of Tree, can they make their way to the shelter by themselves?” Anthony asked.
Lofty nodded, “That's possible, although it's dangerous. We Honey Elves aren't much when it comes to fighting, but for the God of Tree, we aren't afraid to die.”
Anthony couldn't help but grimace, quickly interrupting, “Alright, alright, let them stay somewhere safe. We'll come back for them after we've finished our business.”
If the work wasn't finished, there would be no need to go back for them. By then, the Void might not even exist.
After Lofty had informed the Honey Elves, Anthony urged, “Copper Spear, lead the way upfront to the exit of the Chaos Plane.”
“Alright,” Copper Spear replied listlessly.
As they moved forward, Anthony finally understood why Ange had asked him to find someone to lead the way, because the Void Passage was so vast.
With no edges in sight in the Void Passage, one couldn't tell in which direction they were moving or if they were just circling in a small area. Without a guide, it could take decades to find a way out.
“That must be a Plane, right? How could there be such a vast Plane inside a Space Passage?” Flying for a while, Negris saw a huge floating mass ahead, dark and indistinct, but it must be a massive Plane.
Lofty explained, “When the Hole God nibbles on the Void, sometimes it sucks in some matter, and over time, these clump together to form what we see now.”
“Are there any creatures up there?” Negris asked.
“There are some bugs on it.”
After a short conversation, Negris quickly changed the topic; they were pressed for time, and even if there were dozens of nude female dragons up there, he wouldn't have spared them a glance.
Half an hour later, Anthony, feeling it was too slow, couldn't help asking, “How much farther?”
Copper Spear said, “At our current speed, it will take another week to get there.”
“A week?! It didn't even take half a day to fly here from the shelter…” Anthony said, “No, this is too slow. Get on the Super Speed Snail.”
Riding the Super Speed Snail, what would have been a week's journey was completed in half an hour.
“No wonder he's called the Iron Scale Cleaner, such incredible speed,” Negris marveled.
With no reference points in the Void, riding the Super Speed Snail felt like a wild sprint, and without comparing their pace to Copper Spear's, they wouldn't have realized just how ridiculously fast the snail was.
Flying for a week or two became a usual sensation for normal creatures in the Void, and that's just within a passage; outside, it might take three to five years to traverse the same distance.
“That's why I'm afraid to leave here; I fear I might not make it back, getting lost,” Copper Spear said dejectedly.
Imagine, a Dwarf Thunder God thrown into a 'way station' by a Titan, too scared to leave for fear of getting lost outside–it was utterly frustrating.
Negris empathized deeply; his Divine Power was hardly less formidable than that of the Dwarf Thunder God, and his combat ability might not even match Copper Spear's. Stuck here, he would likely meet the same fate.
But why did Ange have high-speed mounts whenever he came and went?
“Alright, we're approaching, slow down, slow down, slow down–you overshot it,” Copper Spear called out, pointing to a cluster of rocks ahead.
The rocks were likely gathered in that area due to the different forces exerted by the Space Passage and the external Void, creating not too wide of a gap between them.
The Super Speed Snail carried everyone around in a whirl, and soon a layer of dense force acted upon them. With a struggle, they felt lighter and arrived in the outside void.
Peering out, there was nothing but a vast expanse of white fog, visibility was even less than two kilometers–a very short distance, since creatures of the Chaos Plane were either immense in size or incredibly fast.
For instance, the Iron Scale Cleaner, with its scales alone, measured ten kilometers long and five kilometers wide. With such visibility, it meant that standing on it, one couldn't see a single complete scale.
“First, we need to figure out our location. Where is this? How far are we from the position His Majesty gave us?” Anthony inquired.
Hiludi raised her hand and said, “I've been measuring, but my computing power isn't enough, I can't figure it out. Please, Lord Nage, help.”
Negris leaned over and quickly calculated in his mind, “We're only several hundred thousand kilometers away from the position Old Immortal gave us.”
“The visibility here is too low; we can't ride the snail anymore. For safety's sake, let's fly slowly there,” Anthony suggested.
“Isn't flying there dangerous? It's so slow,” Negris remarked.
“Not at all. You fly in the front; if something happens to you, we'll know there's danger ahead.” Anthony said, “The snail is too fast, if there's an Abyssal Big Mouth in front with its maw open, we might dive right into it before realizing.”
“You… Fine, I'll fly in the front.” Negris wanted to retort, but then he thought about it and realized this might be the best way, as he was a clone and it didn't matter if he encountered danger.
However, just as he was about to fly out, Ange pulled him back, then deployed Necromantic Magic, and rows of soul spirits surged in all directions, soon thousands of soul spirits spread throughout the surrounding void.
Moved, Negris said, “You still care about me, not wanting me to take risks.”
Ange cocked his head, puzzled, and said, “Soul spirits, many, useful, you, clone, not dangerous.”
The implication was that Negris only had one, not as useful as a bunch of soul spirits, and the clone wasn't in danger.
Well, that was a wasted emotion, Negris pouted.
With the soul spirits scouting, Ange and his group cautiously navigated through the Chaos Mist. Soon, Negris noticed a problem, “Can the soul spirits last that long?”
The soul spirits summoned by Ange were a type of Necromantic Magic, not true spiritual bodies, and they had no soul; they were more like skeletons summoned by King's Arrival, animated only by Ange's soul power.
Yet, these soul spirits had an existence span, and on expiration, they would disintegrate, but until now, there was no sign of disintegration.
Ange scratched his head and explained, “They, eat, mist.”
'Eating' was just a term Ange thought of, and was not literal eating; rather, these soul spirits were refined by the mist as they passed through it.
Astounded, Negris asked, “So, as long as they don't leave the mist, they won't disintegrate, will they ever? Could it be that Old Immortal's Undead Army was created this way?”
Ange nodded, then suddenly raised his hand.
Everyone immediately fell silent.
Tiptoeing forward, Ange drifted, with the others quickly following quietly, soon reaching the rear of two enormous beings.
Unaware of Ange and his group's approach, the beings were whispering, “What if the Undead Ruler comes out?”
“Of course, we run. What, you want to go up and get killed?”
“But with such thick fog, how would I know if the Undead Ruler has come out?”
“When the Undead Ruler makes a move, he usually sends spiritual bodies to scout first. If we see them, we just run.”
“Is this the kind of spiritual body you mean?” One of the enormous beings pointed at a soul spirit and asked.
“Yes, exactly, those are called soul spirits… Run!” The other giant shouted and turned to flee, but he ran in the wrong direction, charging straight toward Ange's group.
