Chapter 1217: Chapter 781: It's Not Impossible… Chapter 1217: Chapter 781: It's Not Impossible… “Do you know who I just thought of?” Anthony asked.
“Dwarf King Copperhammer, I thought of him too. Who is this? Why is he as slippery as Copperhammer?” Negriss said grumpily.
“There are three gods among the dwarves: the Thunder God, the War God, and the God of Forging. The War God and the God of Forging were killed by the God of Shadows. Could this be the Thunder God? No wonder the puppet's Heart of Forging is so rough. If it's a replica made by the Thunder God, that wouldn't be surprising,” Anthony said.
“It can't be, right? How did he come all the way here? Maybe the dwarves here have awakened the Thunder Power too? He seems to have the form of the Lord of Thunder,” Negriss said.
Anthony shook his head. “Thunder Power is easy to learn, but slipperiness isn't. Let's catch him and ask.”
They didn't need to catch him–Amelia, who had recovered, was already there waving and shouting, “Grandpa Copper Spear! Grandpa Copper Spear! What are you doing? Why are you bullying a stone?”
Copper Spear the Dwarf turned around, as if he had only just noticed Amelia, and exclaimed in surprise, “Little Millie, you're back? Brought friends? Why didn't you yell and let me open the door for you? Really.”
But Amelia wasn't giving any face, and directly pierced his pretense: “Stop pretending, Grandpa Copper Spear. Did you think we were invaders, planning to unleash your Thunder Wrath, only to be scared off by the adult's spear?”
“Nonsense, I was just clearing stones here. I'm so old, how could I see things clearly–what Lightning Spear? I didn't see anything like that at all,” Copper Spear denied without even blushing.
“If you didn't see it, how do you know it's the Lightning Spear? What is a Lightning Spear, Grandpa Copper Spear? Didn't you say your Hammer of Thunder is the strongest thunder weapon in the whole plane?” Amelia asked 'innocently,' yet her words struck right at Copper Spear's sore spot.
Copper Spear stuttered for a few moments, distressed, he said, “Mine is the strongest on the plane, but others are stronger than the plane. Why do you have the Gold Titan's Lightning Spear?”
Copper Spear had a certain tragic past like Lightning. He is the Son of Thunder, others are the Lord of Thunder. He is Lightning's pet, others are the God of Lightning…
If Ange had brought out something else, like the Scythe of Death, it wouldn't have been so frightening. But the Lightning Spear was something Copper Spear recognized and that countered his weapon, and couldn't they, the dwarves, claim Titan lineage?
However, why did the Lightning Spear appear with a skeleton… skeleton… skeleton?
“A subject of the Undead Ruler? Or a creature from another plane?” Copper Spear asked.
Ange tilted his head, and it was Anthony's turn to step up. He patted his chest, a holy light flowing from him, forming into the Pope's crown, then smilingly said to Copper Spear:
“The highest Thunder God of the Dwarf Clan, Copper Spear Reckting, I, the earthly spokesperson of the God of Balance, interpreter of divine oracles, singer of sacred hymns, wielder of the sword of punishment, Pope of Light, Saint Anthony, greet you.”
Copper Spear's knees buckled, almost kneeling, “The Church of Light? How are you here? Did you… did you come here to fight?”
Anthony calmly said, “Lord Copper Spear, that question is something I should be asking you. How come you are here? Weren't you supposed to have left the Master Plane with the Titan clan and the God of Light?”
Copper Spear's lips quivered a few more times, and it took him a while to answer, “Yes, we left the Master Plane and came to a new world, but then the Undead King followed us. We had to flee again, took a detour through the Void to the Chaos Plane, and returned to the Master Plane, but halfway through, the damnable Titan threw me down.”
“???” Anthony and Negriss simultaneously popped out several big question marks: “Why, why would they throw you down?”
Copper Spear bitterly said, “We drifted in the Void for four hundred years, four hundred years! I didn't touch a drop of drink. I finally encountered some of the Void Clan here on the Chaos Plane where I went to buy some drinks. When I came back, Titan and their Thunder chariot were gone, leaving me here.”
“Pfft–ditching passengers, that's just awful! Those damnable Titans, they never told me this,” Negriss said.
Anthony said understandingly, “How so? Tell the dwarves we threw their Thunder God into the Chaos Plane, a place full of Ancient Gods. Who knows if he's still alive? Won't the dwarves fight them to death?”
“Not necessarily to death. Copperhammer, that cunning little one, won't fight to death, but surely they can't be friends anymore,” Negriss laughed.
Copper Spear weakly asked, “Did you capture the Titan? Have the dwarves been conquered by you too? Have you united the Master Plane?”
Anthony nodded pretentiously, “The glory of our Lord has spread across the plane, all species are bathed in His divine grace.”
Copper Spear slapped his thigh, “I knew it! When the Undead Monarch came to the new plane, I guessed it. It must have been your Church of Light that drove him away. Back then, I even advised Tyranus that the Church of Light is tougher than the Undead Empire, advising him not to return. Now what? How is Tyranus?”
Anthony said with a smile, “He has been erased by our Lord.”
Good grief, wiping a chalkboard? Erased indeed.
Copper Spear continued, “I saw it back then; your Church of Light is not a peaceful religion. The doctrine is filled with expansion and conquest beliefs. Given power, you will definitely continue to expand. You haven't established a stronghold in the Chaos Plane now, have you?”
Stronghold? A sanctuary could count as a stronghold, Anthony nodded.
“I just knew it. Are you here to conquer the Chaos Plane then? There are many terrifying beings here; your few gods are insufficient,” Copper Spear said.
Anthony's mind stirred, and he motioned Copper Spear to come closer, whispering, “How long have you been here? According to the time Titans pass through the Chaos Plane, you've been here for over four hundred years. Are you familiar with the situation here?”
Copper Spear hesitated and glanced at Anthony, asking, “What are you trying to do? I am familiar enough. I'm quite acquainted with the situations near the three entrances of this space passage, but not too familiar with places far from the entrances.”
“Oh, are you familiar with the inside of the space passage? How's the situation with the Void Clan?” Anthony asked.
Copper Spear asked warily, “What do you want to do? Is the Church of Light going to conquer this place? The Void Clan are followers of the Hole Bug; they won't worship the God of Light.”
“Heh, how do you know? What if I could provide them with food, cloth, housing, mounts, airships, medical care, pensions, and immortality, plus protection from hundreds of Ancient Gods, or even bestow them with Light? Do you think Amelia brought us here for nothing?” Anthony wheedled.
“This… the Void Clan wants to rely on your Church of Light?” Copper Spear suddenly became somewhat confused and uncertain.
“What are you doing here? Talking about them, you mention 'Void Clan' in such a distant way,” Anthony asked.
“I'm guarding the gate here,” Copper Spear replied.
Anthony looked back and said uncertainly, “But there doesn't seem to be a gate.”
Copper Spear spread his hands, “So I don't really have much to do. After Titan threw me down here, I could only seek their help. They were reluctant, but they also couldn't necessarily defeat me, so they just left this area to me, claiming it was to guard the safety of the space passage, but in reality, they didn't want me entering their settlement.”
“They didn't treat you as a companion? Then why are you still so cautious when I ask about their situation?” Anthony asked, puzzled.
Copper Spear stated matter-of-factly, “They have short lives; those who were wary of me have long passed away. The current generations, like Amelia, I've watched them grow up. Don't harm them.”
“I've already said I wouldn't harm them, at most take them away, provide them food, clothes, shelter…”
“No, capturing them isn't… isn't… not a problem either,” Copper Spear struggled to swallow, as Anthony casually produced a bottle of wine, popped the cork, and the potent aroma immediately made Copper Spear dizzy and confused, hardly knowing what he was saying.
