Chapter 1208: Chapter 772: The Undead Ruler Slaughtered Everyone on Both Sides Chapter 1208: Chapter 772: The Undead Ruler Slaughtered Everyone on Both Sides Negris gloomily flew into the Void, and suddenly noticed up ahead that Starfire and Big Cat were fighting.
Big Cat was agile and swift, but it failed to hit Starfire. Starfire, not only at ease but also with spare effort, commented, “Oh dear, that strike was too heavy, that kick too light, oh dear, your fur is too much, blocking your eyes.”
Curious, Negris moved closer and scribbled on a piece of cardboard: “What are you doing? Why are you hitting Big Cat? Did Big Cat steal something from you?”
Big Cat and Starfire separated, and Big Cat stood obediently to the side, its large, round eyes fixating on Negris.
This glance made Negris realize something was amiss. He wrote on the cardboard: “Not Big Cat, it's Small Cat; how did you become so big?”
“Meow?” Small Cat cried out.
Starfire replied irritably, “My cat doesn't read, Lord Nade. If you have something to say, why use cardboard?”
Embarrassed, Negris gave an awkward chuckle and wrote: “Cursed.”
Starfire gasped, “What? How is that possible? You have a soul connection with the Lord; who could curse you?”
Angrily, Negris wrote: “A friend.”
Damn Lightning, it had established a soul connection with Ange without telling him, and the curse he had cast on it rebounded back to him, doubled in effect.
“Oh, so that's it, cursing each other in the Lord's Soul Network isn't restricted?” Starfire's eyes sparkled with a sudden thought.
Negris had a bad feeling and wrote: “What are you thinking of doing?”
Starfire smiled and said, “Nothing, just don't like the look of a skeleton. If there's no soul restriction, I'd go beat him up.”
Negris paused, asking, “Who? Locke?”
Among skeletons, except for Ange and Locke, there seemed no one else capable of defeating Starfire. Locke, because of the Annihilation Boundary, couldn't showcase much of his strength against Starfire.
Starfire nodded, eager to try.
Negris quickly shook his head and wrote: “Absolutely not. Locke has a special relationship with Ange. He is a child of the Old Immortal; Ange might not protect you.”
Starfire grimaced, reluctantly abandoning the idea; of course, she knew who the Old Immortal was–the Undead Ruler, an entity even the Abyssal Big Mouth wouldn't dare to provoke casually.
Though curious as to what Locke had done to offend Starfire, seeing her indignant expression, he didn't dare ask. Changing the subject, he wrote: “How did Small Cat get so big? Has it been drinking fertilizer?”
Starfire explained, “Recently the Void has become unstable, Dimensional power has increased significantly, so it's grown quickly from good nourishment, but it hasn't learned any combat skills–a grown cat that gets bullied, what then? I'm teaching it how to fight.”
“Dimensional power has increased? Why hasn't Big Cat changed at all?” Negris asked, puzzled.
“This is their transformed state; they can only grow this much. Perhaps Big Cat's complete form will grow further,” explained Starfire.
Negris nodded and wrote: “Okay, I'll go back and ask Big Cat. You guys continue having fun.”
Leaving that Void, they continued to fly forward and soon saw a group of Ancient Gods, led by Dimali, lining up with long ropes woven from the roots of the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms, tied to the Blood-colored Abyss.
Dimali was supervising and commanding from the side, with Glutton Bujaka at the very front, acting as the lead drudge. Upon receiving the order, Dimali immediately started the chant, “One, two, three, heave-ho, one, two, three, heave-ho,”
slowly dragging the Blood-colored Abyss.
Negris flew past the Blood-colored Abyss and went to the other end, quickly finding Ange by a massive luminescence.
Beside Ange was an even larger point of light, sealed by a Frozen Space from an Abyssal Big Mouth bottle, significantly larger than their earlier one, shining like a small sun in the pitch-black Void.
Above the Blood-colored Abyss, the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms desperately extended a long branch, trying to touch this point of light. However, before it could make contact, the Blood-colored Abyss was pulled backwards, dragging the tree away from the light.
In order to touch the light, the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms had to stretch its branches even further, repeatedly lengthening them.
A Ring of Balance shone on Ange's back, constantly measuring the length of the branch, and when it was long enough, he promptly pressed the light point into the Dimensional Space.
With the loss of the light's illumination, the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms halted, bewildered.
Another prepared group of Ancient Gods, yelling their chant, dragged another Abyss Dimension to the original light point's position, and then Ange, from behind the plane, pulled the light point out again.
Sensing the light, the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms immediately extended, first wrapping around the Abyss Dimension, then stretching towards the light point.
However, a tragic incident occurred just as it was about to touch the light point–the plane was pulled back again, maintaining just enough distance to shine the light without allowing contact.
By employing this method, the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms grew uncontrollably.
Negris flew up to Ange and couldn't help but ask, “Why make it so complicated? Can't you just let it grow slowly?”
Ange shook his head, “Void collapses, dimensions shatter, it can protect.”
“It can protect the planes? Or the creatures? But you've connected all the planes together, aren't you afraid that the expansion and contraction of the Void will tear them apart? Just like Eternity Road,” asked Negris.
“No, it can expand and contract,” Ange replied.
If, as Ange said, it wouldn't be torn apart by the void's expansion and contraction, then this method was quite suitable.
Several planes housed a multitude of common creatures who, unlike Ancient Gods, could not freely fly or survive in the Void, thus their range of activity was limited within the planes, making interdimensional movement of people very challenging.
If the Divine Tree could connect the various planes, they could traverse the gaps between branches to move between planes, and if the Divine Tree could also protect the planes, it would provide an additional layer of safety during the collapse of the Void.
Using the light point to guide the growth of the Divine Tree was also a unique method of cultivation, which Ange was deeply engrossed in, enjoying tremendously. Gradually, the various planes and the Divine Tree tangled into a massive arboreal sphere, at the center of which was the original light point encased in a tree tumor.
However, this was a massive undertaking. Though the Divine Tree grew not slowly, placed in this boundless Void, it was relatively inconspicuous, and its growth to the original size of the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms could take countless millions of years.
As time passed, the number of creatures Ange and his group sheltered grew, and those who later escaped brought explosive news–several forces were engaged in fierce battles near the Chaos Plane.
“I don't know how many forces there were, but I recognized the Undead Ruler, who cut down everyone on both sides.”
