Chapter 1202: Chapter 766: Should Be Able to Lure Quite a Few Back Chapter 1202: Chapter 766: Should Be Able to Lure Quite a Few Back Ange had no idea that Little Sapling and Little Ghost were linked in any way. Little Ghost had previously slipped into the Divine Aspect of Light and had not responded since; he didn't know when it woke up.
Little Sapling possessed the ability to transfer consciousness across planes, likely after planting its avatar in Iron Sand City. But to transfer smoothly, it seemed that it would need to wait until the world channel was fully open.
The Holy Kingdom harbored several War Giant Trees. Little Sapling could grow its avatars by borrowing them, entering the core of the Holy Kingdom; that must have been how it made contact.
As consciousness returned to its main body on Ange's shoulder, Little Sapling sent him a message: Ya–Ya–Ya–
Ange didn't understand and tilted his head in confusion.
Little Sapling explained: Whitey–Has come–Whitey–Has come–
Whitey? What Whitey? Where had it come? Ange still didn't understand, but he sensed it was nothing bad and gently butted Little Sapling with his forehead before continuing with his work.
Okay, maybe Little Ghost had woken up before and mentioned this to Little Sapling, and then he ignored it.
Ange had so much to do, but as long as it related to planting, he was happily busy.
First, he needed to construct two more large freshwater chambers for Tom and Lorca. Then, with their combined effort, create several more points of light. Not only did the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms need light, but the crops also needed it, or else the starch yield would be quite low, making it difficult to feed a large population.
Next, he had to convert the entire Shattered Plane into plantable space. Due to the material's looseness, just moistening it to a certain level and combining it with suitable fertilizer would turn the whole plane into an appropriate planting substrate; sprinkling crops on it would be enough for them to sprout.
So Little Zombie and Little Angel had new tasks. Little Angel wielded the Earth Hammer, creating layer upon layer of 'floors' around the central point of the Shattered Plane.
The central point used to be where the God Tree Core was, now removed, leaving a void. Once a new light source was placed there, it could illuminate the entirety of the Shattered Plane from the inside.
Later, a concave mirror would rotate around a hemiboundary of space-time, reflecting all light in one direction. As the mirror completed a circuit, the interior of the Shattered Plane would experience a complete day and night cycle.
A month later, inside the Shattered Plane.
“Based on the planting area here, one Shattered Plane should be enough to feed these tens of millions of people,” Negris marveled, watching the slowly rotating mirror.
The multi-layered vertical farming space was clearly inspired by the planting spheres; Ange had transformed the Shattered Plane into a colossal version of such a sphere.
“Not enough,” Ange replied.
“How is it not enough? It's only tens of millions of people, with just the crops from here, enough to feed…” Negris began to object but Anthony pulled at him.
Turning his head in confusion to Anthony, Anthony rolled his eyes and said helplessly, “It really isn't enough. You can't just consider food; there must also be feed, raw materials.”
“My lord, we need reserves for food that can last over three years, along with a certain redundancy. The number of beings coming to us for protection through various channels will only increase because many beings don't have the ability to traverse such vast Void. That's why I've sent out search teams–the population number could increase by tens of millions,” he explained.
“As the number of beings increases, there will be shortages of clothing and meat, so we also need a lot of hemp, cotton, varnish, leather, and bamboo. We can barely make do with the silk moss from the Void Elves for hemp, but the quantity is too limited, and we can only rely on you, my lord, for everything else.”
Anthony hadn't finished speaking when Ange nodded his head eagerly.
Negris realized that Anthony was covering for Ange by using the excuse of high demand, letting Ange go and plant whatever he wanted for fun.
What high demand? The others weren't dead. As long as they had something to eat, they wouldn't starve to death, and they could plant their own crops. Why would any species that could survive in the Chaos Plane worry about such things?
Oh well, if planting was what they were going to do, then so be it. Since the Chaos Tide hadn't receded, they couldn't do much else anyway. They might as well keep busy and grow extra to be more prosperous.
Just then, there was a loud 'bang' accompanied by a scream.
Even though the Void lacked air, these Ancient Gods had such powerful energy levels that the overflow of energy from their fights produced wave-like disturbances that were similar to sounds, allowing ordinary people to feel the noise and screams.
“What happened?” Everyone quickly left the Shattered Plane and entered the outside Void, seeing from afar the Little Demon King chasing and pummeling an Ancient God, with both the screams and the sounds of being hit coming from the latter.
However, facing a hunter like the Little Demon King, the Ancient God being beaten didn't fight back and merely covered its head and ran, withstanding several hits from the Little Demon King without any apparent damage.
“He's really taking a beating. What's going on? Little Devil, stop hitting him for a second, what happened?” Negris shouted from a distance.
Anthony chimed in at the right time, “It seems to be one of the Ancient Gods from another group, which has two curved horns, earning it the nickname 'Big Horn.' It's indeed known for its ability to take a beating.”
After Ange and his group stopped in this part of the Void, other Ancient Gods from the Beast Tide also halted. Some had left, but many homeless ones had set up camp about several thousand kilometers away from Ange's location. Since they hadn't dared come close, and Ange's group didn't bother with them, they just had the Little Demon King and Starfire keep watch and decided to drive them away if they got too close.
Now that the Little Demon King was beating the other one, it looked like they had crossed the warning line.
Negris looked at Anthony in surprise, “You even know its name? Did you investigate them?”
Anthony shook his head, “I'm not that amazing. It was all Silver Coin; he'd already infiltrated that group of Ancient Gods. Not only did he register and catalog those Ancient Gods, but he also conned one of them into working for him. I'm not sure how he did it, considering those Ancient Gods aren't greedy for money and don't eat. What did Silver Coin do, fetch Chaos Mist to feed them?”
“It's hope, I sold it hope, Lord Anthony,” came Silver Coin's voice from afar. Turning their heads, they saw Silver Coin galloping toward them on a 'little horse.'
Everyone's gaze shifted to the little horse–it was clearly not a horse, but an Ancient God that looked like one, with a colorful mane. Wherever its hoofs touched, a rainbow-colored spiderweb crack would appear, as if it was breaking the Void itself.
“What a magnificent rainbow Little White Horse,” Negris couldn't help but ask, “What kind of horse is this?”
Before Silver Coin could answer, the 'horse' retorted, “Who are you calling a horse? Your whole family is horses! I'm a Colorful Beast, can't you see?”
Everyone exchanged glances, picturing another horse in their minds.
Silver Coin, somewhat bemused, dismounted and kicked the creature away before turning to the group and saying, “I shouldn't have let it meet Lightning; that mouth is contagious. Lord Anthony, you must teach me the Great Silence Technique.”
Anthony couldn't help but chuckle, “That's not the Great Silence Technique, it's the Echo Spell; you'll have to ask the higher-ups to shut it up. What's going on?”
Silver Coin answered with sudden understanding, “Forget it, I won't bother the higher-ups then. This here is Babu, the Ancient God I bribed. It's a Rainbow Beast. Aside from running fast and having a temper, I'm not aware of any other abilities it has.”
“I've been gathering information among those Ancient Gods recently, and found that they're all fearful and lost. I told Babu to come and help me, and I would give it the latest information first. It then came back with me. Lord Anthony, do you want to go see? I can tell you what I know about them, and perhaps you can persuade quite a few to come over.”
