Chapter 1196: Chapter 760: Eternity Road Is Destroyed Chapter 1196: Chapter 760: Eternity Road Is Destroyed “The only light in the Void, he is bright, merciful, and prosperous.”
“With a sheaf of grain in his left hand and wealth in his right, his radiance dispels all pain and sickness.”
“He established a Heaven upon the earth, sheltering us from the encroachment of the Ancient Gods, his divine might boundless, to which all Ancient Gods submitted.”
“Master Ange, he is the only light in the Void, the Ancient Godlight that shines eternally!”
Indeed, the professional Great God had knelt and immediately began to uphold the will of the Lord. After consulting with Anthony, he instantly composed the above sacred words and sang them passionately, spreading their message.
With her and her professional priests joining, the Iron Scale Cleaner was finally able to shake off its burden. The scales that carried construction materials were peeled off, all twenty-some pieces, which were also given to Ange.
“Phew, that's great. They've finally found their own light, and they won't be mooching off my food anymore,” sighed the Iron Scale Cleaner in relief.
Negriss said irritably, “You're too soft-hearted. If you didn't want them mooching, you should've just driven them away.”
What she didn't say out loud was that if she couldn't drive them away, she'd just eat them. Negriss thought to herself that this giant snail was not only too lenient in letting others take advantage of it but was going out of its way to find them a new guardian. Her temperament was ridiculously good, even an honest dragon like Negriss couldn't stand it.
Hesitantly, the Iron Scale Cleaner said, “But it wouldn't be right to drive them away. They wouldn't survive without help, and now, you can shelter them. Although the light you represent seems different from theirs.”
Eh? The giant snail actually noticed? Not so dim-witted after all.
“What light are they following, then?” Negriss asked.
“The Ancient Godlight. The God of the Tree sustained that Ancient Godlight. These people were once acolytes of the Ancient Godlight. After it shattered, they sought refuge on me. Initially, there were many of them, but after I took a few naps and woke up, only a few million remained,” the Iron Scale Cleaner said with a hint of regret.
Negriss quickly asked, “When you speak of the God of the Tree, do you mean the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms? What's your relationship with it?”
“Yes, the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms. These Divine Light Apostles called it the God of the Tree, too. Relationship? The God of Tree lets me eat the moss on its branches and vines,” said the Iron Scale Cleaner.
It seemed they shared a relationship based on food. Negriss had considered making Little Sapling socialize with it, but now it appeared there was no need. She then asked, “Now that you've settled them down, what are your plans next? Do you know when the Chaotic Tides will stop?”
“I'm going to sleep,” said the Iron Scale Cleaner. “This tidal cycle isn't normal, and I don't know when it will stop. If you find out, be sure to let me know, okay?”
As soon as the words left its mouth, the smaller snail incarnation 'whooshed' away at an astonishing speed, completely incongruous with its appearance–like a Super Speed Snail zooming around in a car.
After rejoining its main body, the enormous form of the Iron Scale Cleaner began to retract into its shell, first drawing in its soft parts and then stacking its thick scales over the shell's opening, sealing it tightly.
Once sealed, the aura of the Iron Scale Cleaner gradually quieted, and it fell into a deep slumber right there in the void.
“Wow, asleep already? What an excellent sleeper,” Negriss remarked sarcastically.
Anthony delegated some tasks and then took a break to come over and say, “It's probably due to exhaustion. With a body of its size, every movement requires a tremendous amount of energy. It's better for it to stay immobile. Now that the Divine Tree isn't sustaining it, it can't afford to waste energy.”
He then switched topics and reported to Ange, “My lord, we have gathered more than sixty million intelligent beings, mainly humans and Elves, accounting for eighty percent. Demons might be around ten percent, and the rest include various other creatures.”
“Additionally, there are thirty-two Ancient Gods. Another forty-odd Ancient Gods have stopped a few hundred kilometers away from us. They seem to be observing the situation.”
“The Iron Scale Cleaner left behind twenty-one scales, each ten kilometers long, five kilometers wide, and five hundred meters thick, made of a mixture of metal and keratin. It's somewhat similar to the carbon fiber used on your Elf Chariot–very sturdy. I feel like if we hollow it out, we've got ourselves another Elf Chariot.”
Ange tilted his head.
Anthony continued with a sigh of resignation, “It's too hard to grow anything on them, they have poor water absorption, and they're sensitive to bright light. They become brittle when exposed to strong light, then soft if watered, which lets us shape them. Once the water dries, they harden again. All those buildings on the scales were constructed this way.”
Negriss exclaimed in surprise, “Such a magical characteristic; Durken would probably like it very much.”
Durken liked it, but Ange was not fond of it, listening with a lack of enthusiasm.
Though Anthony knew Ange did not enjoy hearing about this, he still needed to report. He could propose ideas and make plans, even sometimes assign tasks to Ange, but Ange had to make the major decisions.
“This part of the Void is already far from the Chaos Plane. Garritt has confirmed that within millions of kilometers nearby, there are no other Ancient Gods, and the tides of chaos will not spread here; we are safe for now.”
“I have asked all the Ancient Gods; none have seen Your Majesty. Garritt also said he hasn't heard any news of Your Majesty, which means Your Majesty is still within the Chaos Plane and has not left. We probably won't be able to contact Your Majesty until the chaos tides come to a halt.”
After reporting all the important information, just as Ange could no longer restrain himself and was about to reach into his space to plant something, Anthony said, “We now have two options: stay here and wait for the chaos tides to recede before looking for Your Majesty, or leave this place and return to the Master Plane, and come back after the tides recede.”
“Staying here means we have to start cultivating from scratch to feed these more than thirty million intelligent creatures. As for those Ancient Gods, they will be fine without eating or drinking for three to five hundred years; we'll deal with them after the Blank God Statuses brought by the adults have grown.”
Ange nodded, “Stay, cultivate.”
Neither Anthony nor Negriss were surprised, because it was obvious how Ange would choose. He hadn't planted anything in the Shattered Plane yet, so why would he abandon it and return to the Master Plane to wait?
For Ange, planting was a hobby. Developing new cultivation methods in different environments was a pleasure; how could he give up such enjoyment to just go back and wait?
Everyone had anticipated this, so Anthony continued, “If that's the case, my Lord, you still need to go back one more time and bring everyone over. Without enough hands, I will be worked to death.”
It wasn't that it couldn't be done, but that it would be quite difficult. Anthony had to start training anew and establish a complete management system to possibly manage these tens of millions of intelligent creatures.
Ange nodded, it was simple to go back and bring people.
Turning around, he called out to the Big Cat in the distance, “Roar!”
“Meowwoof~” The Big Cat sprinted over and plopped onto the ground, turning into a big furry ball.
Negriss was quite annoyed, “Hey, when I call you, you complain of pain here and there, not fully recovered. How come you're no longer in pain when Ange calls you?”
The Big Cat widened its eyes, looking utterly confused.
“Damn it, I'll remember this.” Negriss surreptitiously noted the Big Cat down in her little notebook.
Ange casually stuffed Negriss into his space. He could go back to bring people without taking anyone else, but he couldn't go without a translator, otherwise, he'd have to talk himself, which would be too troublesome.
Diving into the Big Cat's fur, the next time he emerged, he had already returned to the Conch Plane.
Back here, he could go through the Plane Passage to the Star Burst Plane or use the Teleportation Array to return to the Resting Abyss world's transfer station, then through the world transfer station to the Master Plane or another Abyss.
However, just coming out of the fur, a familiar figure pounced over, clinging tightly to Ange's leg.
Projected onto Ange, Negriss was shocked, “Redemption? How are you here? Were you waiting here for us? How did you know we would come back? Do you also have a Kobold nose like Shamara?”
As she spoke, she looked around and indeed saw Shamara with a Kobold nose. Besides her, there were Locke, Feiti, Harvey, Great Sage, Witch, Durken…
Lisa, Luther, Death Star, Blue Star, Giant Star, Hiludi, Gailard, Brooks, Copper Hammer, Dyson, Dark, Cabrela, Radiad, Gust, Kronos, Arambrough, Abuke, Silba, Diyali, Hania, Drosa, Sinat… and that Little Snake.
Two worlds, several Planes, everyone with a name worth mentioning was here, and there were also a great many nameless ones who had come.
Something tugged at Negriss' heart, “What happened?”
Lisa said with overwhelming joy, “My Lord, you have finally returned. The two worlds have become a bit strange; something must have happened. The Eternity Road is destroyed.”
