Chapter 1188: Chapter 752: Raise It and You'll Get Rich Chapter 1188: Chapter 752: Raise It and You'll Get Rich Ange shook his head blankly, clueless. He didn't have the Dragon God's memories on the subject; maybe the memories hadn't been found, or perhaps they had been, but Ange hadn't awakened to them.
“Oh, maybe there's none, after all. If even the God of Trees is helpless, it must be really tough. Forget it, I'm going to eat something. Remember to look for me if you recall anything, um–” the Hole Bug said, holding its breath for a moment, and materialized a blue gemstone that floated in front of Ange: “Remember to look for me.”
After saying that, it shrank back into the hole. It had been stretching outward, but since most of its body was still on the other side, drawing back was much easier. It zoomed back in a flash.
Perhaps because it had been stretched before, the hole crackled and vanished after the Hole Bug had retracted.
“It's gone… just like that? I had so many questions to ask,” Anthony lamented.
“Right, it could have at least told us how the Void begins to crack, where it starts, and how long until it collapses,” Negris also said in distress.
It was a rare opportunity to meet a Primordial God, and one that was an old friend of the Dragon God, no less. Not making use of it to ask more was such a waste. Chances like this were hard to come by.
“Let it go, it might not have been able to explain clearly anyway. And even if it could, we wouldn't be able to rely on its explanation. It probably has a different definition of collapse compared to ours. A general collapse to it might just mean a small fissure, but to us, it could signify a catastrophic disaster,” Anthony tried to offer some consolation.
“You're right. Ange, what's that thing it left you?” Negris asked, turning to Ange.
Ange picked up the blue Crystal Stone, and inside was a tiny, plump white worm: “A seed.”
“A seed? What do you mean? Its offspring? It gave you one of its offspring?” Negris automatically replaced 'seed' with 'offspring,' thinking he might have misheard. The Hole Bug wasn't a plant; how could it have seeds?
“A seed. It bears its mark. It can propagate Hole Bugs from this seed,” Ange explained.
“Hiss–You can grow Hole Bugs from this Crystal Stone? How is that possible? It's not a plant,” Negris said incredulously.
Ange scratched his head, pondered in distress for a while, and then had an inspiration: “Bloodline inheritance.”
If it were anyone else, they might not have understood what Ange meant. Anthony was completely baffled, but Negris, truly deserving the title of the ultimate divine translator, immediately suspected something.
“Are you saying that this Crystal Stone has the Hole Bug's mark, and after it has been propagated, it can turn into a new Hole Bug through bloodline inheritance?” Negris guessed.
Ange exhaled deeply and nodded energetically.
“Hiss–That's so much like the Dragon God's methods. Create the individual first, then restore its memories. How do you grow it? Can it grow as big as this one?” Negris asked urgently.
Ange shook his head.
“Then why did it give you this?” Negris said, disappointed.
If one could grow Hole Bugs, even if they couldn't grow as large as the current one, as long as they could pierce through the Void, that would be enough. Hole Bugs were capable of creating Space Passages out of thin air, through which they could send a hundred thousand Chaotic Holy Spirits to the Master Plane.
Even if the grown ones were not as powerful as this one, being able to craft a Space Passage big enough for a single person would do. Then people could just queue up to come over.
Ange said, “The mark, to contact it.”
“Oh oh oh, I got so excited I forgot. It's for communication. It's a real shame, why didn't it tell you how to grow the bug? Can it really grow? That's an animal, after all,” Negris said, sighing both long and short.
Anthony said, “Perhaps the Dragon God knows. Just like the God of Life gave seeds to the adults to help with planting, maybe the Dragon God also helped the Hole Bugs plant seeds before. Classifications like animals or plants don't apply to Primordial Gods. The God of Life can move fast, too–would you say it's a plant?”
“True, and it seems Ange has already grown something that moves. The materials for the Holy Armor came from the Saye Meat he grew,” Negris was reminded of something straight away.
The main material for the Holy Armor was made from the Saye Meat, propagated through the notion of fear, making it strong and versatile, able to be hard or soft, extend or shorten, change shape at will, and its defensive capabilities were exceedingly powerful.
Shay, after all, was an Ancient God and naturally possessed the body strength of an Ancient God, capable of adapting to all sorts of harsh environments in the Void.
Shay could plant, so why couldn't the Hole Bug? Once Ange awoke all his memories and planted the Hole Bug, for now, it would only serve as a communicator, to be used when necessary to contact the Hole Bug with the brand on it.
“Eh, look there, what's that fuzz?” Anthony suddenly said.
Following his gaze, at the place where the emptiness had just disappeared, now floated several nearly invisible filaments that seemed to blend into the Void, utterly undetectable unless looked at closely.
“Hole Bug fuzz? Did it fall off when the Hole Bug was squeezing in and out just now?” Negris immediately thought of something–isn't this the same fuzz used to create Ange's Whip of Instant?
Ange hurriedly flew over and gathered all of the filaments together, with a bunch about as thick as the circle made by a thumb and an index finger.
“Ah, I didn't think of it earlier. To have shed so much by just squeezing; had I known, I would have pulled out a few more. Big Cat's fur falls out all the time too, but it's a pity that it's not of much use,” Negris remarked regretfully.
Negris had felt regret several times already, similar to the regret of touching a divine beast abounding in treasures, where touching it once resulted in a treasure falling out, yet only having touched it once–if only he had grown a few more hands.
Just right, the fuzz of the Hole Bug could be used to repair the Whip of Instant. The previous blast had only used roots of the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms for repair, without interweaving it with Hole Bug fuzz, so it couldn't reach its full power.
The true power of the Whip of Instant relied on the Hole Bug's fuzz to instantly tear open space, generating an extremely high speed; the roots were merely to prevent it from breaking.
Surprisingly, it had still broken in the end, after all, it was only made according to the strength of that Demon Lord, and the fact that he couldn't break it did not mean Ange couldn't…
This time, Ange reinforced the roots again and wove in the fuzz; it should be harder to break now.
Lastly, everyone's gaze fell on the 'compressed space.'
“Who would have thought, space can actually be compressed and even eaten? How can you eat it? Ange, can you digest it?” Negris asked.
“Space can definitely be compressed. Feiti's Flash is about compressing the space ahead to achieve the effect of Instant Flash, but for space to remain stable after being compressed like this, after it leaves, that's simply miraculous. How is it done?” Anthony marveled.
Ange looked distressedly at the ball of 'compressed space,' poking it with his hand but eventually, unable to figure it out, had no choice but to pull out Big Cat.
“Roar!?” Big Cat immediately rounded its eyes in shock and delight upon seeing the compressed space, looking at Ange with surprise and joy.
“Roar,” Ange said.
Big Cat nodded vigorously.
Ange agreed with a nod.
After they had finished their discussion, Negris said, “You should let us out first.”
As his consciousness returned to his body and he opened his eyes, he found the others staring wide-eyed, transfixed by the distance.
“What are you all looking at?” Negris asked curiously–isn't it just a field? What's there to see?
Lightning immediately chattered, “I don't know what happened just now, but there was this giant head that burst through the sky as if trying to squeeze in here. It scared us to death. After pushing a couple of times, it shrank back and said 'too small, can't fit,' and then we discovered, the space has expanded so much. Maybe it got stretched bigger. What was that thing? It's so scary. I don't dare to stay here any longer; please have the elder let me out.”
Seeing Lightning in such a panic for once, Negris said, “You really want to go out? That thing is outside, you know. I'll have Ange let you out then.”
“No, I don't want to, who wants to go out? I definitely do not. This is my home,” Lightning quickly hugged a tree next to it but was immediately pushed aside disdainfully by the tree.
Negris looked into the distance, eyeing the Dimensional Space that had expanded several times over, and couldn't help but sigh internally: Worthy of a Primordial God, every single move is precious. If one could nurture it, that would be a fortune.
