Chapter 1185: Chapter 749 Too Late, Run! Chapter 1185: Chapter 749 Too Late, Run! In the Void, an even darker vortex was slowly moving forward, swallowing everything in its path–rocks, tree branches, mist, shattered planes, and more–disappearing without a trace.
As the vortex passed by some potential hiding spots, creatures that were hidden inside frantically fled. Those fast enough managed to escape the reach of the vortex and then, lost and disoriented, they looked back at their former homes. But their homes were no more, replaced by a gaping mouth-like vortex.
Those who were too slow were naturally consumed by the vortex, spared from such worries.
Wherever the vortex passed, it left a trail of pristine nothingness, even the sparse gases in its path completely vanishing.
Ange and the others, under Garritt's guidance, reached the furthest point from which the vortex could be observed and watched its movement from a distance.
Upon seeing this scene, Negris and Anthony both looked distressed, “And here we were thinking the Bloody Plane didn't need to flee, that the tides of the past didn't reach that far. Who would've thought that Abyssal Big Mouth would start moving? Now we have no choice but to run.”
“Why would it start moving all of a sudden? Did it move during the tides in the past?” Negris asked.
Both Garritt and Dimali shook their heads: “We haven't seen Abyssal Big Mouth's true form move in hundreds of thousands of years.”
Garritt added, “However, lately it has been very angry and agitated, often cursing some 'Law Breaker.' It might be on account of this that it's started moving.”
Negris's eyes widened, “Again our problem?”
Anthony quickly said, “Not necessarily, it could be due to the Void collapsing. Right now, we first need to understand what a Void collapse is. How far does it extend? Is there a way to stop it? If not, then we can only flee, evacuating everyone back to the Master Plane.”
The original plan to go back and bring people over had to be abandoned.
“If we have to evacuate, it needs to happen now,” Negris said. “We're too far from the Master Plane, and relying on Big Cat to transport everyone over is impossible. We'll have to think of another way to evacuate.”
Big Cat nodded vigorously, completely agreeing with Negris.
“Stop nodding, you lazy thing. Go bring the Titans over. They have traveled between the Master Plane and the Star Burst Plane through the Void. If we need to retreat through the Void, we'll need them to lead the way,” Negris commanded.
The Void has nothing in it, just one word: big. But this 'big' is often the most dangerous, and if you don't live long enough or have enough supplies, you will surely die on the way.
If you lose your way and get lost, then it's all over. Even Ange, if he were to lose his way, could potentially die–there's not even the breath of death in the Void, and even the Undead could be drained of soul…
Then again, this guy can do Element Conversion, and the Void is filled with dark energy everywhere. Throwing him into the Void, maybe a new Plane could be cultivated from the dark energy…
Alright, getting lost in the Void, Ange might well be the only one who could survive.
If the Master God can survive, then as a Subordinate God, Negris felt even less concern, puffing out his chest with newfound confidence.
“Let's go, let's go back and figure out how to retreat. Evacuating the Undead and Elf inhabitants of the Blood-colored Abyss is no small task. Why not just drag the whole Plane out of there,” Negris suggested.
“Me me me!” Pink Hem jumped desperately, “Don't forget my Pink Abyss, I have a lot of Elves and humans there too. If you can't take them with you, you must at least take me, take me.”
“Bringing an extra Abyss wouldn't be bad, we'd have more space. The Void doesn't have nearly as many resources as the Chaos Plane, and if the space is too small, we won't even have room to plant anything,” Anthony said.
Negris nodded, “That's right. Considering the Titans' speed, it would take at least four hundred years to go from here to the Master Plane. We can't expect Ange to feed them for four hundred years. We need to be able to fend for ourselves. So, while we're at it, let's drag the Abyss of Fallen along too. Who's the lord of the Abyss of Fallen? Will he agree?”
Pink Hem immediately replied, “Lord Nage is joking, right? How could the Fallen Lord have any objections? If there are any, I'll bring over his head.”
“Okay then, the Abyss of Fallen probably has quite a few creature races, right? Make sure they're well settled, and when it's time to run, we'll take you with us,” Negris said.
Pink Hem, excited, waved her arms and said loudly, “Yes, Lord Nage.” Then, with a swirl of her hem, she went off to make trouble.
With just a few words, the fate of a Lord of the Abyss was decided, but nobody present saw any problem with it. It was just a Lord of the Abyss, after all.
Anthony then turned to Garritt, “The news you've brought is very useful. Starting now, you're one of our companions.”
Garritt hesitated and wiggled his ears, saying, “Can I be a pet?”
“A pet? Why?” Anthony was surprised.
“Because someone will pet me, feed me, I can eat my fill, sleep, and not have to work. I love being a pet,” Garritt explained matter-of-factly.
Anthony laughed despite himself, “Alright, alright, you can be a pet, but you'll still have to work. You'll be in charge of keeping guard. If you hear anything dangerous, alert us immediately.”
Negris grumbled resentfully, “You probably don't know about sheepdogs, scarecrows, teleporting cats, loudmouth horses, rice-cutting skeletons, huh? Think you can get out of work? Wishful thinking.”
“Hmph!” Garritt rolled his eyes, clearly categorizing Negris as just another pet–all equals here, not worth his bother.
Anthony quickly changed the subject, “If we're going to drag away three Abysses, we'll need more hands on deck. Since you represent the Wandering God League, tell me, which of those Ancient Gods are obedient, sincerely looking for refuge, and can be accepted?”
“Oh, this one, this one, and this one, they all genuinely seek refuge. They're not strong in battle and have a hard life, just like me, dreaming of being pets. If their master is willing to provide refuge, they'll be very obedient,” Garritt listed out the members of the Wandering God League, gesturing one by one.
“That one, that one, and those over there are not sincere. Some want to test your strength, others plan to deceive and rob you. I told them how their master whipped Thunder Roar to death and they still didn't believe me.”
Master? He sure has the hang of saying it; looks like he really does want to be a pet. Later, I'll have Little Angel smooth his fur to show him what a brat is capable of, thought Negris with a vicious grin.
Filtering out the Ancient Gods who truly wanted to join them, Negris had Dimali contact each one individually, guiding them to a designated gathering place.
With everything arranged, just as they were preparing to return, a whirling vortex in the distant Void suddenly and silently ejected a stream of energy.
The energy stream almost directly targeted their location; at the forefront of the energy stream, a humanoid creature with a powerful aura and long wings on its back was slowly taking shape.
“Abyssal Big Mouth has swallowed so much matter; it couldn't be rebuilding Dark Wing, could it?” Anthony suddenly thought.
“Is this really the time to talk about that? It has found us and is heading this way–run!” Negris shouted.
It was already too late. Ange quickly reached out, his hands a blur, and stuffed everyone into the Dimensional Space. At the same time, scales erupted across his body.
